The person who designed the engine service accessibility must hate mechanics. I'm amazed your language was so tempered on camera. I now really appreciate how easy my bandit is to service. Great job, very enjoyable viewing. Thanks for posting.

The old machines were a dream to work on, shims could be removed without removing the cams, some had a push across rocker arm which was even easier, modernity is good at stopping us from being independant in so many ways, points and condensers are king.

Imagine doing that job on a cold January morning outside, you mobile guys have nerves of steel that the folks don't see the extent of the labour and or effort you have to put into making a living working on the floor, well done Steve, when you get over fifty everything changes for the worse as the years get longer and the man in the long gown and the sythe under his arm is catching us up..

That’s how I am now in my 50’s For years I could service my bikes and now with arthritis in my knees and back it’s hard to even check the tyre pressures! I’ve had to sell bikes because of arthritis it’s shit getting old.

All the Hondas that I have worked on require the radiator to be slid sideways to remove, that saves removing that grommet support.

Respect for doing mobile service for living , thats must be a hard job. Like to work on bikes , but only in a garage with a lift.

I'd think after 18 years that coolant should really be getting changed also.

Love ur channel, I ride a BMW s1000r , put between 12 and 15k miles on it a year, not hard to do here in south Texas.
Weather is great, warm and humid.
I maintain my bike, basically oil, break oil change sprockets and chain etc.
But would love you to give it a full service once a year.

Done 16k in 32 years, some bloke used to stop every time he saw me outside with it and would keep on about not using it, got on my moobs in the end, so I told him, yer when I bought it they told me I couldn't do with it what I wanted and I had to do what some tw@t who lived down the road wanted, he never stopped again 😂👍🏼. I do have a winter hack though...

One of my favorite looking fireblade gen. Quick question with so little miles i can see replacing the fluids, but why replace the plugs and airfilters? There are still basically new. Maybe the airfilters can start to Deteriorate. But plugs dont go bad just sitting.

  • @davidhowells-rl9li
    @davidhowells-rl9li 3 місяці тому +1

What a rigmarole to change a couple of plug's? Obviously the manufacturer didn't intend you to service it regularly, its a wounder the can sell them, if it isnt easy to service them?

    Hi Steve,
Really enjoy your videos and educational too for folks like me who like to try.
How much do you charge for the service on that 2006 Fireblade?
Im a Honda lover and have never encountered one that required so much work before you get to where youre going. Mind you my 2017 Africa Twin now needs the valves checked this year!!!!

Love your videos mate, but whomever chose to include the scene jump cut spinning graphic, should be kicked in the nethers, lol. It makes me feel queasy and seasick in all your videos🤢🤮🤣 Just a plain cut is just fine, a fade out is fine, but the eye-wrenching spin is dastardly...
