I grew up without a Dad, so I didn't have anyone to teach me much about fixing cars. I've always taken an interest in learning as much as I can about it though. My fiance isn't much of a mechanic either, however, we found your video and got under the truck together and changed the gas filter. We both learned something today. Thank you, for making these videos! Unfortunately, the filter wasn't the problem, but if we keep trying, our truck should be fixed in no time.
We bought a 1998 Frontier with 100K in 2004, made my daughter change all the fluids and filters. The fuel filter was a Nissan brand so likely original, plus the heads for the hose clamps pointed up, indicating the filter was the original one and installed BEFORE the truck bed was put on, so that was tough. Later on, I re-engineered the protective bracket for the filter to make it easier to access.
At 01:03 it is visible that the mechanic removed the fuse box cover on the driver side vs the previous picture that suggested the fuse is under the hood. According to Xterra forums, the 15A fuse on the top left corner of the fuse box controls the fuel pump - I've yet to check on my car.
I think these filters are good for a long time. I replaced mine on my 02 Xterra with 200K miles for the first time. I wasn't having any problems. I just thought it time to replace it. I didn't notice any difference after I replaced it.
Didn't know about this. Are there any of these fuel filters on the 2003/04 Diesel version? Is it possible for it to be responsible for having air in the system too?

Nice and easy love the design of this make it easy easier than the ones with the brass nut.
Just did mine. Pretty sure it was original! From 2002!
Did you notice any performance difference afterwards?
@@clay3205 A bit less hesitation, better MPG for sure. But nothing really performance wise.
Mine is from 2002- I'm replacing it today... :X
That was extremely helpful, thank you very much!
The fuel pump fuse was not under the hood. It was in the cab left of the steering wheel..Geeezz some people..
How do I magically make a lift appear because we both know you wasn't under that car on the ground.
You don't need a lift. The vehicles are high enough off the ground. Plenty of room. Takes all of 10 minutes max.
@@vermontvermont9292 You're missing the point.

Thank you for the video!
Thank you
Going to do it without disconnecting the battery and the breaker
thank u
Put the fuel cap back on
hahahaha
Where is the fuel filter on Nissan Pathfinder 2008? Thank you?
Как снять задный барабан,заменит колодки.
This is an absolutely un-necessary number of steps….
Agree. I just crawl under and change the filter. I re-engineered the protective bracket for the filter to make it easier to access.
