Hello, When you first make a test drawing in your sketchbook, what do you draw with?
I use a regular number 2 pencil and lightly sketch until I’m happy with my design 👍

When you applied the lighter brown on the darker brown. How do you let it fade into each other. The underpainting should be dry at that time, isn't it?
Good question! I wait till the first layer is dry, yes 👍 And then I work transparently with a lighter brown and some water working from the middle fading it outward by swirling my #8 or #4 brush. After that. I’ll add a darker layer around the borders of each shape, fading it from dark to light.. I hope this makes sense 🎨👍😊
