That's MOSTLY true. More often than not I am told to keep the clothes, as they were fitted to me for the shoot, they can't really be sold to anyone else or re-used on another model after. It would be more work to re-fit the same garment on someone else than it would be to just fit a new one (unless we're talking couture ofc, that's a whole different thing). Really depends on what type of modeling you're doing.
I started modeling at 15 and stopped 2 months after I turned 18. Let me just add when she says last minute sometimes it’s not even a day. I’ve gotten calls For jobs literally 30 minutes beforehand. I’ve done runway and yea they pay VERY low I’ve done multiple runway back to back and walked away with maybe 200 dollars. As a model I was making just about minimum wage. You never really get big money unless you become famous.

Then get some headshots taken and create a portfolio and then just start looking for a modeling agency that would fit. Don’t just look for one or make an appearance for one go with a bunch because it might take a little for an agency to pick you and then just start looking for castings. My best advice to give you is embrace rejection because it happens. It helps to promote yourself on social media as well. There can be a dark side to modeling not just with weight but I’ve had times where the photographers are just straight creeps. Be safe.

It all depends on who your agent is, where you get booked and who your working with, people AND brands. My friend is a model and has been since he was a kid. He's worked with multiple agencies. The one he is with now is more professional, since obv he's older now and yes he does get to keep clothes and he got piercings and dyes his hair atleast once a month and doesn't get anything for free. It's not one size fits all, which the media would like to put on everyone. Sounds like your agency just isn't that forgiving with your time and money for product AND THATS OKAY

I know people who have kept clothes and have received clothes, so that's the only part I'd disagree with. Seoul fashion week is very open about giving clothes. In fashion weeks there, I got a coat, some dress shorts, and a zipper shirt totaling close to $1000 maybe My friend got a couple of coats and sunglasses in the span of 2 days

Absolutely true I can’t have fake nails, fake eyelashes no tattoos and no hair extensions and I can’t cut my hair. And I have to drive an hour and a half to my job most of the time and I’m in there for about 15 minutes but I get paid really well. I’m.a progressive cosmetic model .
I was given a dress while modeling (which I only did for about a year), it does happen. It's just about luck and, well... the designer (or in my case, the host who owned everything) has to want you to continue to represent them in some capacity. They have to want you to keep wearing the clothes they sell.
As for the extensions, the stylist doing your hair will own those extensions (assuming they are clip in) and will need them back for other clients to make the looks! You can’t just expect free extensions lol
When working for a company yes this is mostly true. As a self employed model we don't get that discount, at least not in my experience and I don't need permission to change my body but I do like to keep everything natural as for keeping the clothes if I'm modeling for a clothing brand then no I don't but I normally bring my own clothes. I go self employed as I can control my own rates and don't have to worry about getting underpaid and I have a say in what I am NOT wearing (lingerie nude ect.)

For all of those who are saying “the modeling industry needs to be changed!” You also have to understand that it won’t. Most models are already being paid an inhumane amount for their work. When modeling agencies and big brands are confronted about this, they use the excuse “We can always find somebody who will do it for less.” Sadly, that is true. Most models WILL do it for less. They’ll do it for NOTHING. This job is one of the most desirable career paths to exist, and most people don’t want to do it for the money.

I started modelling at the age of 12 yrs old and I stopped at the age of 16 yrs old and now I'll turn 17 in a few months. And about the clothes, sometimes I got to kept them. There's this beautiful blue dress that I love so much.........I wish I got to kept it like ughhh just because of that....blue becomes my favourite colour. And yep about the payment..... it's not good at all.

This all varies on your agency, the type of modelling you do and your residency in the modelling world. All experiences are different :)
