Making Arthur Morgan's Leather Holsters & Hat - Red Dead Redemption 2
Вставка
- Опубліковано 16 бер 2019
- I've been paying Red Dead Redemption 2 for a few weeks, and no need to say that I love the game. So it was just a matter of time before I try and make something inspired by the game. This week, I decided to finally get to it and make Arthur Morgan's hat, and one of the holsters you can have in the game.
I used 2.4mm/6oz vegetable tanned leather for both the holsters and the hat, dyed it brown and black with alcohol based leather dye, applied two coats of neatsfoot oil on both, and one coat of leather varnish on the holsters. I'm like how they turned out, and I hope you'll like the build.
My son, wife and I had a lot of fun filming the intro and the outro. As a kid, I spent a lot of tome pretending to be a cowboy in a duel, just like I saw in old movies, so it was really fun to recreate the scene with Little Red.
Special thank for the awesome Al from @alshackshack
We love you! That's all.

You seem way to calm considering Little Red already got a vice like Al ;) This gotta be your best one yet!
Reminds me I also got a revolver around here somewhere ...
They grow up so fast ;)
Thanks a lot Rasmus. Happy you liked this one!
@@RedSmith I would buy this if I could wear it anyway because nobody wears cowboy hats anymore
sparky eagle111 not true I wear one all the time
@@Jensmilerdh yeah but that's you
@@sparkyeagle1115 no one is stopping you though. A lot of people still wear cowboy hats.
You dont need to go to the trapper, you ARE the trapper

Beautiful hat! I'm sure you could sell hundreds of these since the game is so popular! I know I'd buy one.
Thanks a lot. I do. You can order one if you want😉
@@RedSmith I'D SO BUY ONE WHERE CAN I ORDER? BEAUTIFUL
send me an email theredsmith@hotmail.com :)
@@SixxThaClown Uh yeah I second
@@RedSmith how much are they? Holster?
Beautiful. You have to admire the craftsmanship on the holsters and hat. It's like he pulled them right out of the game.
Thanks a lot Emmanuel, much appreciated!
Don’t let this distract you from the Urban Carry Holster add I just watched. I sat here for the whole 2 minutes watching that add like it really got my attention😳
I hope my video was more interesting than an add.
SlatWitDaGat I got the same ad, definitely interested in it lol
@@chillmanchan3829 😁
Lmao yeah your vid was more interesting but that add was the first to snatch me up inna while lol
Watching it right now
Man your work is always amazing I'll be making this and walking around town ”greeting” everyone now
Thanks a lot Orther ;)
The Redsmith No problem boah
Orther Morgen why do I see you every where
Someone On UA-cam Everywhere? Pft nahhhhh
A man will do just about anything for a bounty of 10,000 cookies! Great stuff, Red.
Very true ;)
Thanks a lot!
RIP Arthur Morgan. When you put the rope around that hat I almost shed a tear. Good job.
Thanks a lot!!
From one leathersmith to another, that, my friend, is a thing of beauty.
Thanks a lot, much appreciated mate!
This is beyond fantastic. Thank you for this Red. Awesome, in every sense of the word.
Thank you Sir! Remember that time, a few months ago, when I told you you made me wanna change the way I make videos? Well, that's what I meant. It's all thanks to you Captain!
I love this video so much, you don’t know how much I do I can’t express how I’m feeling you did a AMAZING JOB more then amazing! I like the designs and details you put in the holsters and hat. well done I’m so proud of your work. Have a good one bud! 🤠
Thank you very much. I really appreciate it! Your comment made my day!
I was thinking of doing a RDR cosplay and when I saw your video I decided to try it.
thank you very much because you just saved my life 😘
magnificent work cowboy
Thanks a lot! Happy the video could help you :)
The leatherwork was masterful. The video itself was cinematic pleasure. Thanks for the bedazzled afterglow.
Thank you very much!! Really happy you liked it :)
Amazing work. This is the first video of yours I've see can't wait to check out more of your work!
Welcome aboard!😊 I hope you'll like what I've done and will do!
Always nice to see true craftsmanship. Even though the ammunition you used was for a semiautomatic pistol and not a revolver I won't complain. I love the hat. I want one.
Thank you very much William! That's the only ammo I had. Thanks for watching!
How much does Little Red smoke? His dead-eye must be amazing.
He doesn't. He just had a cold😉
It is amazing. Way longer than mine😁
@@RedSmith Glad it's just a cold and not TB.😁
Me too ;)
Dead Eye cant you just say pick square or something?
Dead Eye or whatever it is on xbox
This is amazing! Well done sir. Both the video and the leatherwork are great!!
Thanks a lot G! I really appreciate it😊👍👊
Wish I had seen this video a lot sooner, absolutely enjoyed watching it all come together :) Did Arthur justice with your stunning work!
Glad you enjoyed it! And thanks for the kind words!!
Wow Red those turned out fantastic!!! Great job man. Your son did great too .... its great that your able to include him and share all this.
Thanks lot :) He did a great job for sure, and he wants to get more involved, so it's great ;)
Awesome video Mister Red !!!
Thanks a lot buddy!! :)
Do John Marston’s classic hat and holster now, from the first Red Dead Redemption.
Maybe one day
Totally awesome ! Thank you so much for the time and effort you put in that video !
Thank you Remy! Glad you liked it. The smile on my kid's face when he saw the finished video was totally worth it for both of us😊
very nice video! I love the design of the belts and I find it interesting how you shaped the holsters. makes the cowboy in me want to come out!
Thanks a lot. I've always wanted to make one of each and it was even more fun to make it to play with my boy :)
Brother Red .... Ya knocked it out of the park !!!!!!! Nice ... Very nice 👍👍👌👌 thank you sir !!
Thanks a lot Marty! I appreciate it :)
Bravo pour le montage et Le scénario… Et les réalisations tout simplement magnifique ! Merci
Merci beaucoup Stéphane! C'est très gentil, j'apprécie !
Simply fabulous, G! You've done it again. Love everything about this... the crafting, the creativity of the video (editing and shooting)... just everything!
Billy
Thanks a lot Billy!! It means a lot!
This is just the best!!!! Hope you had as much fun making the video as it looks like you did!
Thank you very much! Oh yes, we did!! This one was very very fun to make #badactor ;)
Fantastic audio editing yet again! I laughed out loud at the extra binder clip you added! But wow the holsters are so complex and came out so beautifully. I'm guessing that shaping the hat took a really long time to do. And to make it all fit together and make a beautiful hat AND it fits you so well! That is just darned awesome. Beautiful job all around! But oh my goodness the intro and ending are just fabulous! Little Red was fantastic! Who knew his voice sounded just like Al? I love it all! Bravo!
Thank you very much!! It was a lot of work but totally worth it. And Little Red is a natural born actor. So kind and patient to play with me ;)
What a great way to start the day at 5am! Truly epic, my friend!
Thanks a lot Andy. I knew you'd like this one. But 5am is way too early!😉
Ha ha!! What an amazing vid! When you get Mrs Red & Red Jnr. involved as well, and in such a cool and funny way, really made me smile! The hat and the holsters though! Must've really taken you ages and they turned out incredible too! Well done indeed!
Thanks a lot Matt! It was really fun to make this one, especially with the whole family involved. The build itself took a long time, but the editing...Happy you liked it! :)
Wonderful! I love watching your craft, and you have a great way of making it fun along the way.
Thanks a lot Dave! That's very kind of you to say :)
I love the set up on the gun rig......awesome job sir!
Thanks a lot Patrick!!
Alright Boah, this was so much better than Dutch’s plan!
;) Thanks
Just fantastic work. I absolutely love that hat! And that ending🤣 there's delivering the coux de gras and then there's going the extreme. Great video keep I'm coming pilgrim.
Thanks a lot Peter!! He just kept shooting, just to be sure he won ;) I will! Thanks for the continued support
I just love this!! How clever!! Love the cowboy story and your talented leather craft work!!! Two thumbs up!!
Thank you very much. I truly appreciate that!!
I must ask.... how much for an Arthur Morgan hat?????
What's your budget ?
@@RedSmith I honestly never gave it any thought before seeing this video. I have no idea what cowboy hats even sell for to be perfectly honest.
@@JestersGarage They are sold around 100$. A bit more when it's a handmade piece.😊
@@RedSmith that's still rather reasonable, and sounds worth it to me.
That's indeed reasonable, leather is quite expensive
If these were to buy I would not hesitate to buy them, phenomenal man! :)
Thanks a lot!! I make and sell the hats, if you're interested
The Redsmith how do I buy oneeeeee
Send me an email theredsmith@hotmail.com
Great work! I love your leather work. You have definitely inspired me to look into leather craft. Keep up the awesome content, Red.
Thank you Adam! If I inspired you in any way to make stuff, I'm super happy with that. That's the goal of this channel :)
I have watched many videos on youtube and have contemplated on putting in my two cents here and there, but your video and craftsmanship compelled me to leave my first comment, ever, on this social media hogwash. Absolutely awesome video, fantastic choice of music and good humor. You have made a subscriber out of me and I look forward to watching your other videos. You are a true craftsman!
Thank you very much Corey, I truly appreciate you taking the time to write your first comment for one of my videos! Many more to come, I hope you'll enjoy them as well.
You got some fine leather workin skills boah.
Thanks a lot mate!
10,000 cookie reward....man, you must've pissed off a lot of girl scouts 😂
Awesome vid! I've never tried leather working but you certainly make it seem easy!
Thanks for noticing the cookies😉 I hope you'll try it sometimes, it's really fun!!
Awesome video! Very instructional and entertaining -- thanks! You, Little Red, and your wife all ROCK!! 🤘🏻😎
Thanks a lot!! We all appreciate it!! :)
@@RedSmith You're so welcome, and we appreciate all of you as well! : )
This is fantastic Red.
Loved the concept. Hat and holster came out beautifully!
Thank you Soph. It means a lot!
This is fantastic Red! Your lad sounds a lot like someone I know though. 😆
Thanks a lot Richard. It might not be a coincidence😉
Great work and great videos, my friend! BTW, What's that style of coat called? The one you have on at the end
Thanks a lot mate. It's called a sheepskin. This one is maybe 40 years old. It was my dad's.
What a top notch video and a great build, those are some fantastic skills. My son's a massive RDR2 fan and will be showing him this later. Top work fella 😁👍 And the voice you dubbed for your lad was hilarious!🤣👍
Thanks a lot!! Happy you liked it. I hope your son will as well. I was fortunate enough to get some help from a Fool for the voice, it had a little je ne sais quoi and gave a new dimension to the video :D
That's was great ! 👍👍👍👍👍👍 and building memories with the lil guy❤ .
Thanks a lot Gib. As always. Happy you liked it!! Indeed great memoried for the both of us😊❤🖤
Parabéns. Ótima produção do velho Oeste.
Muito obrigado ! Muito apreciado! :)
Hmmm today doing homework I thought. Wouldn’t it be cool if someone made a video making Arthur Morgan’s hat. What do u know first that pops up in my recommended.
That's great :) Thanks for watching!
A very fine make video Red, one of your bests. I cracked up when it came time for your boy to speak, well done sir.
Thanks a lot Tim! Happy you liked it. I'll have to do something about his voice though... ;)
Great job G. I love the way you weave a story into your vids
Thanks Steve. Having a story for a build video is very new to me but it's also really fun😊
Lenny !!! ... Where are you? Lenny !!!
Hahaha😉
Dang you looked so cool with the outfit on lol
Thanks a lot Sir! ;)
Génial la mise en scène ;) et chapeau bas Mr pour ton travail c'est vraiment très propre

Mis respetos y admiración, gran talento
Muchas gracias realmente aprecio :)
That is awesome I was wondering if you're selling that
Thanks. Yes I sell the hat. Send me an email if you're interested.
Merci beaucoup John !
Love it! I’ll guess anyone could make these pieces with 10000$ worth of tools and some practice. But there is only one who makes such an amazing movie! It was a joy to watch! I only have 3 things to mention. 1st: you have to many clamps. 2nd: If your son continues to drink that amount of scotch he gets a beard like Al. 3rd: did you lost your zippo???
Thanks a lot my friend !! I really appreciate it. This one took some extra time to shoot the intro and outro, and even more for the editing, but it was really fun to do.
1st: There is no such thing as too many clamps ;) 2nd: True! 3rd: I broke it...I need to fix it :)
i can smell this video.

Smells so good
This video is so epic! Everything about it is amazing, great work Red (and little Red)! 😍
