But it was more than that. Not one human from Adam up to Jesus had been perfectly able to follow God's law. Jesus not only followed it, but even under the hardest trials, even to the point of death. This is why it says, "For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous." Jesus also proved humans could be perfect, that we are not a failed creation. There is more to it than this, but for just some starting basics... that's it in a nutshell.
