just look at Lady stone heart (aka Cat)
she is a fucking demon

I've been waiting for you guys to get to THIS episode in particular. Messed me up the first time I saw it. Crazy thing is it gets even better and crazier after this.
The bedding ceremony is actually rooted in Medieval history in European countries. Among the nobles. They would undress the couples and both partners had the opportunity to reject the other in case of deformities. In some countries, they stayed until it was consummated, especially with royals. In the lower classes, they would often take the couple to where they would stay that night and carry on outside leaving the couple alone inside.
@@rhiahlMT Very interesting. Thanks for providing some historical context.
For a fun (not so fun) history fact: this is actually very similar to how the Abbasids took over from the Umayyads in the Middle East. The Abbasid royals invited the Umayyad royals to a banquet dinner to end their feud now that the Abbasids were the new Caliphs. But when the Umayyads got there, the Abbasids slaughtered them and then set the table over their corpses and proceeded to have dinner that way. One Umayyad, Abd al-Rahman I, decided not to go and escaped from Syria across North Africa to Al Andalus, where he ended up becoming the Emir of Cordoba there.
They definitely need to react to epic history TV’s “Rise and FALL of the Abbasid Caliphate” it’s so good.
In that case it actually seemed like proper justice considering what the Ummayads had done to the Prophets family.
@ In fairness, the Umayyads who were there at this time were about a century removed from the murder of the prophet's grandsons. Many of them were still responsible for other oppression I'm sure (as the Abbasids were, certainly), but these Umayyads probably had many innocents among them.
@@CoffeePaladin I would have expected the Ummayads to abdicate and give the caliphate to Hussains son or grandson if they were truly penitent about what happened.
@@alijaffery7735no justice, abbasids were far worse with the descendants of muhammad.
"What the hell!?"
My exact thoughts when I first read this in the books. Then I saw it on tv and I still could not believe it.
Some people are monsters. Walder Frey is a perfect example of how cruel and savage people can be.
the episode that made reaction videos a thing
for the bedding, it's inspired by an middle age european custom : when a couple was married, we go to bed together, and some people stay in the room to watch if the marriage is consumated... because non consumption was a close of divorce.
It concerned important marriages, like kings. For example, the marriage of prince Arthur, son of Henri 7, and his wife Catherine of Aragon. The people who asisted to it were summoned to the trial king Henri 8 summoned to divorce from his wife Catherin of Aragon( yes, he married his brother's wife).
I read the books years before there was a TV Show. The Red wedding is even more terrifying in the books, I actually tossed the book out to the floor and did not continue reading for a week.
I read it long ago, too, and remember rereading it a couple of times trying to figure out clues that it was a dream or something, how could it be real?
I remember having to read that part multiple times because I thought I was misunderstanding. And being in a bad mood for days afterwards. Was I a bit dramatic? Perhaps, but when a book is written so well I don't think it's that strange that what you read stays with you afterwards.
Looking back to when we watched this on TV, there were specific episodes that stood out because they either left everyone speechless, or in tears - everyone was talking about it the next day - episodes where something truly heartbreaking happened in this series - and this one episode was one of them. The term “Red Wedding” has even been used to describe a situation that becomes a total mess, usually involving numerous people - as in “Don’t turn it into a Red Wedding!” We were really sad to see Rob and his mom go - and so sad for Rob’s wife.
Sweet summer children no longer! When I first watched this, I was crying my eyes out. Did you recognize the music that was playing when the doors were shut? It's the Lannister song, "The Rains of Castermere", about the rival family (House Rayne) that Tywin wiped out -- men, women, and children -- that Cersie retold to Margery to remind her who has the power. Now the Lannisters are wiping out the Starks.
I couldn’t predict any of the outcomes for this episode when I first watched it.Nice reaction guys 😊
the "red wedding" in GOT its inspíred by a similar event in scotish history, its known as "The Black Dinner", where the king invited a rival powerfull clan to dine with the king just to be captured and executed
and about the same thing happen with the Abbasids who took over power from the Umayyads
@@baronbrummbar8691use a party as ambush has happened lots of times around the world.
Curisly weddings are almost always respected.
The closest thing to this happened in Java by Gajah Mada.
Gets me every time. Probably the most shocked I've ever been watching a show in my life. This or a paticular Dexter episode
Так кінцівка цієї серії шокуюча, після такого повороту сюжету навіть не уявляєш чим все може скінчитись...👍
Big virtual hugs!!
ive been waiting for them to get to this episode.
I remember watching this episode and at the end being staring at the black screen for 10 minutes. What a shock
Yes Rob let his feelings get in the way of being rational and strategic just like his father and it cost him everything. Both good men that were crumbled over by those more wicked and calculated.
Yup, Rob did this to himself. He broke his word. As a King none the less. Ned would not approve. Either way, it's pretty messed up. No longer Summer CHildren. Welcome to the club. Enjoy the rest of the seasons. it's gets even more wild.
Yep, I was looking forward to your reactions. This was a brutal episode. Remember, if you think this has a happy ending, you have not been paying attention.
I remember reaching this part in the books... I don't think I opened it again for like a month.
Even after years it’s still a shock
“I’ve never been shocked like this”
26:27
SAME.
lots of people witnessing the consummation of a marriage is based on real history
Consumption and live birth of the children too! Several family members and politicians would stand by t watching to make sure the baby that came out of the mother wasn't swapped out.
Salam Walaikum from Florida fellas after this episode you are no longer sweet winter children lol
Ahhh yes. . . .so at last, we come to this. . .
I will just give you a ❤ today. I don’t watched movies like this.
the mother of all reaction episodes. Did we "enjoy"? The reaction, definitely!
Thats a mad episode. Extremely shocking.
Bros there is still existing that tradition
Salam aleikum
(Throw MaMa from the train) is also a good movie to watch.
9:15 Never forget the butcher's boy!
You all have now been baptized in the crazy world of GOT. Hang in there.
Heart breaking 💔
(21:15) I wondered the same thing. Was the bedding tradition inspired by a tradition taken from a culture in the past? Or did the author create it on his own?
In the wedding banquet, a film by ang Lee they do it as a Chinese custom. Since it's a fake marriage to hide that he's gay it gets complicated
The bedding tradition was a real thing. Not sure if they carried off the woman like that
but there was a ceremony where the couple was placed in bed, prayed over by a priest and members of the royal family and court actually stayed to watch. Yeah, sick I know.
@@cyndicook7755 Ugh! I'm sorry I asked😅.
Really though, thank you both for responding and shedding a little more light on the topic.
It's a (very) exaggerated version of different customs, mostly European. So I'd say yes, "inspired by" is just the right word :)
There's a good example of this on the first season of The Serpent Queen when Catherine de Medici marries Henry II of France. Could you imagine having your father-in-law watch?
Now you know why this episode was so important for the plot. You would have seen Winterfell totally disappear if you would have missed this.
There where too much plot lines opened and proceeding trough the series they obviuously must be closed one by one.
Welcome to The Red Wedding. No longer sweet summer children.
Look at danys knights all sad because daario lived. They hate that guy.
BRUTAL....many people abandoned the show after this.
fake news
No they didn't. We all had the same reaction of "WTF just happened? I'm done." Year later, we ALL tuned in to the next season.
many people abandoned the series
when it became shit because they didn´t follow the books
...
like seriously where is lady stone heart
aka Demon Catyln
@@StinkyGreenBudlol it’s literally based on viewer data. Huge drop off in viewership immediately after this episode, which later obviously rebounded. It also happened with The Sopranos in season 3 due to a very fked up scene.
Watch LIFE its a great comedy with no nudity and eddie murphy murphy malcom lawrence about two people in the past getting a life sentance for something they didnt do
To play the Devil's advocate about the dinner massacre .. Gosh Darn, as hard as it was to watch.. They had it coming.. You broke a deal.. Freys daughter was to marry a king.. that was the point.. Next time dont break a deal.. Fuck around and find out.. RIP
Just wait, That messed up ending is not over yet
Hawks, Blizzards Eagles are all Flesh EATING RAPTORS
So I gave a thumps up without watching. I´m not sure if I will watch it at a later point. I hated this and the next episode and couldn´t bring myself to watch it again since the first time. And I hated how people talked about Rob- yes he made mistakes but his mother was at least equally guilty and what isn´t good portrayed in the series is that Rob was I believe only 14 in the books and 17 in the series when this whole thing started. He was a child and for that he did quite good.
who would murder their own guests? imagine the justice incurred for such black deception
More people than you think.
The yanomami cant have a party without see around nervous, they know it can happen at any moment.
not sweet summer children anymore
Welcome to the middle-ages
in the entire middle ages this happend twice
once in scotland
and once by the Abbasids who took over power from the Umayyads
Middle ages were better than now, wokeness everywhere now
@Englander284 dude i would say the anoying PC crap ios still to be prefaired over witch hunts and Plagues and some BS Nobles
@@baronbrummbar8691 Wokeness is a plague and if witch trials were still a thing then lots of bad politicians wouldn't be in power
@@baronbrummbar8691You forgot Tibet, Java, Granada, Toledo... And who knows how many other places.
If the yanomami existed, too in their part of Amazonia.
....and it was known as ...The Red Wedding
and not because of the wine
But, speaking of wine and weddings.... In the Bible wine is symbolically used in prophecy as blood, and thus also as judgement. The miracle Jesus performed at the wedding where he turned water into wine, has prophetic significance. As the "bride" of Jesus (chosen Christians) enter into a covenant (marriage is symbolic of a covenant) with Jesus, and when this happens it will be followed by Armageddon, a judgement against the wicked. (John 2: 1-12 & Revelation 19: 7-15)
In Judaism wine is wine. Buy you can substitute grape juice if your guests prefer no alcohol.
Se van a cagar
Lols you guys are so ignorant of history. Things like this happened all the time in Medieval times. It's crazy how sheltered you guys are
Good thing they know now i guess
Must not teach much world history and glorify Islamic rule of the past there...
The worse episode you two have seen so far!!
