I desperately want to keep a plain shrimp tank. I recently got a preggo shrimp from petco and she laid. 2 of the babies are very active and they are in a small container until my goldfish tank is cycled and I can move them to another fish’s old tank. Im super excited to put them in their tank when its ready :3

One of the most fun part of the hobby for me is to get an older tank, clean it completely and give it a new aquascape. Just something about giving things a fresh new look that makes me feel accomplished at this hobby.
This is fantastic, I'm currently making my own shrimp tank right now, it's 3 weeks in and I'm currently getting some more plants and hardscape for it. Good to know that the diatoms will clear up!
I made the horrific mistake of moving my female Betta in with my four cherry shrimp. I ASSUMED it was safe, but you can guess how that went- Never again. SO I plan on putting together a 10 gallon tank specifically for my shrimp. I enjoy them so much. This video has given me a lot of motivation!
I did the same thing. Shrimp lasted about a week. Then I added some plants and rocks and New shrimp which i thought lasted about a week but then six months later I set up another tank and pull the rocks and there’s about a dozen shrimp hiding in there :-)
@OrganicTrash Well, according to the internet, and my local fish store- there are many cases where betta fish live peacefully with shrimp. But my luck, I picked out a fish with extra high aggression levels 😂
@@LilPondDragon you need a good sized population (50 to 100+) before adding even a peaceful betta. They'll eat the babies and leave the adults alone, but they still might go on a rampage someday. The s. repens probably melted away because of the substrate. I would recommend using root tabs, but capping the substrate off with sand might be a good idea as gravels might not always keep root tabs under the substrate.
