My home made Farnsworth Communicator. The electronics are a modified 300 Sec USB recording module from electronics123.com (and it was very inexpensive!)
It is hard to find anything much online about Warehouse 13. I remember finding this video way back when and thinking I was going to make one. It was a fun show!
@mb2000inc It's a Richard Wheatley 6" gold colored aluminum fly box. I'd recommend checking out the "Farnsworth Discussion" thread on the Replica Prop Forum. It has all the info you could ever want on this prop.
If you're referring to the Discussion thread on The RPF, It is discussed there. Well, either there or in my build thread. I even posted a wiring Diagram. Just look for posts started by Jedibugs and you should find it. It was my first time working with electronics, so I'm sure you shouldn't have too much trouble.
I'm actually planning on putting one together this week, but with a more accurate faceplate. There's also one other surprise feature I'm going to try to implement, but I'm not sure if it'll work yet. I'll definitely send you a message when it's finished, though.
Absolutely! However, I am waiting for the new Ultimate Edition to arrive in my mailbox (ANY DAY NOW). As soon as possible, I will get up a full review up. I may even compare and contrast to the original version that I posted the teaser vid for.
Good afternoon! I very much liked your copy! It is a masterpiece, how many you approximately spent money and time for its manufacturing? At you it is the single copy? You probably will surprise that it is written by the ordinary guy from Russia, too it are pleasant to us these series) Forgive for broken English)
Nice replica. Would be cool to see it operational like, maybe with a webcam & a microphone? Problem is you'd need multiple farnsworths and or make it Skype & celular compatible just to be able to get some use out of it. Have you ever thought of making a replica of the farnsworths farnsworth version? It's the one Claudia got and tried to modify. I think that one looks the coolest.
Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be making another to sell in the foreseeable future. I have the materials left to make one more, but that's going to be mine. And I'm not likely ever to part with it.
It's a Richard Wheatley 6" fly box from the UK. That what was used on the show, as well. Unfortunately, they no longer sell these without hooks/compartments/foam pre-installed that are basically impossible to fully remove. If you call them, they may be able to make a special sale of a base unit for you. I know some people had success doing that a few years back.
why doesnt someone fit a linux powered computer with an LCD, camera, and wifi in it? then tether it to a mobile phone, create a program for it, and have a working farnsworth?
+Raph segal It was Jedibugs, but I was banned some years ago for associating myself with someone Art Andrews didn't approve of. I have a nice article about my feelings on the RPF here: www.thepropsmith.com/blog/the-replica-prop-forum-rigorously-policed-fandom Also, check my other videos... I have a much better Farnsworth build on my UA-cam channel.
stunning! it is impossible to watch the show and not want to make one of these.

Nice! Do you remember where you got any of the various buttons/lights/switches?

What did you use for the outer casing? (where did you find it?) Because I'm looking to build a real working Farnsworth.
There's a LOT less room in there than you would think.

Do you know where one can buy a face plate?
Thanks! It's on eBay right now, btw...
How much would you sell these for?!?! I want one

If you ever build one for sale, please let me know
What color have you used to paint the aluminum box?
I believe it was called "Leather Brown" or something like that. It was a very long time ago, though, and I don't know that I'd use the same paint now.
What did you use as the casing for it? Looking to make my own.

Well, it doesn't call people, if that's what you mean...
New video of the Ultimate Edition Sonic Screwdriver is up. Nice, full review. Check my channel.
