Sorry about the Mis-hap Bob. Good news though. Water pump from 2003,4,5,6 so on BMW 760li v12 will be identical. You will also need 2 small rubber coated coolant pipes, as they are not serviceable. I love that Bob is taking the time to replace and fix anything that needs to in order to bring this car back to its former glory. I'm so hoping he takes off that ugly wrap and let's the original silver paint shine!
I am from Houston and remember this car from the dub show. This car was flooded out during Hurricane Harvey and the owner had previously said it was ruined forever. Low and behold you have it now. I hope this flood was disclosed to you when you bought it.
There is no evidence of this, no Carfax or report on it, that would be a major claim and not something someone would not report. There shows to be no damage or water marks, no smell, no indication, so I think you have this car mistaken with a different one. I have see pictures of a black and white Phantom at a DUBS show and it is not this one, that is a different car. This car was kept on the upper floors of parking garage.

I swear, Mexicans are the most down to earth people to do business with. I remember I wanted to repair my side panel on a Ford Mustang with Bob's Auto Body Repair and they quoted me $3000 to fix it. I then asked a body repair shop literally across the street that was owned by a Mexican mechanic and they fixed my side panel for $700! They didn't cut any corners and they were honest about the true cost to repair it. That Cristian fellow saved you thousands of dollars in repair costs when those "Exotic" auto shops would have fleece you.
Thank you for your video's about your Phantom, they are very informative indeed.I am sorry that you have had a mechanical issue but I very much hope that you get your baby back on the road very soon. Good luck with the repairs and I look forward to seeing further videos about your baby. Regards, Ian Tresidder, London, England. By the way, Rolls Royce are the best car in the world.
Bob is a mechanics worse night mare. Brings his own parts (preventing them from making any profit on the parts) and hangs around the whole time they're working. BTW, I'm exactly the same as Bob! :)
Most of the people in the comments have not opened the hood of a car, but still give opinions.... Water pump is servicable item on ANY car. Plastic, metal, make it from fucking meteors and it still needs to be replaced, because it will fail.
Cool video as always sir. Sorry to hear the Rolls broke down though. I am glad it was an inexpensive fix as it were. Thank you for sharing it with is. Look forward to videos to come!
I would like to think that the "old, original British, Rolls Royce company" wouldn't have made a critical part, that could fail, and do major damage, like the water pump impeller, out of plastic, especially with the constant heat of the water and engine. Doesn't seem like a good engineering decision. But thanks for these videos, showing the typical things that new Rolls Royce owners are likely to encounter with these now used RR's. They're still expensive for the average person, but they continue to get cheaper!
Could not agree more Robert, as a part owner of a 91 year old Phantom which is totally original and serviceable, owmed 54 years , I feel these BMW ' Rolls Royce ' cars will be comparatively worthless within a few years through being made of ' the wrong materials ' and uneconomic to repair .Am I the only one that thinks they are downright ugly ? !.
@@Roger.Coleman1949 hi Roger: the styling on these cars are not what you would call "subtle" or elegant, in my opinion. They're massive in a "in your face" way. BMW does not have the best reputation for reliability(according to Consumer Reports) but they do make a lot of cars, so naturally it makes sense to source any parts from the BMW 12 cylinder as opposed to buying the parts from the Rolls dealer at inflated prices
Hey, Videobob, I met one of your Delorean parts customers at a car show just outside of Birmingham yesterday. His Delorean is spotless! BTW, glad the BMW Rolls is back on the road.
That hose was cheap. I paid $150 for a very similar hose for my Cadillac in 1995. I restored a 61 Phantom I literally found in a field in Michigan. Gave $2500 for the car and $25k and 2 years later I sold it at a car show in Dayton Ohio for $57k. It was a fun project and was like new when sold. That car put me into a 63 Jaguar Special restoration. Still have the Jaguar and turned down several offers over the years but it's such a fun car to drive.
