- President Donald Trump made no mention of the absent Philadelphia Eagles at his Celebration of America event, which found the crowd booing in favor of the president as they drown out a protestor on the South Lawn and another attendee taking the knee as the national anthem played. The Celebration of America event, which lasted approximately 10 minutes, began with the singing of the 'Star Spangled Banner.' One attendee took the knee as it played. Trump said the Eagles were disinvited because of NFL players performing the same gesture at football games.

The point stands that Trump dodged the draft (and yet proudly proclaims himself as some paragon of patriotism), regardless of whether the commenter himself would have. I'm assuming this "Celebration of America" was something cooked up by Trump and he would know in advance that he would be singing the national anthem? Let me know if I've got that wrong. So, if he knew he would be singing it, does this demonstrate just how well he prepares for events? And for such a patriotic guy (oh sure) it seems like he should know the words. I know that nobody is perfect but Trump is the guy who is all about criticizing everyone else who doesn't meet his expectations of being a patriotic American. I'll bet those marines are so proud to be standing next to Mr five deferments and watch him struggle to get the words right for our national anthem. What an embarrassment to our country.
He scheduled the "Celebration of America" when he found out that only about five players from the Superbowl champs Philadelphia Eagles organization (out of over 80) accepted his invitation to the White House. So he "dis-invited" the team, rounded up a whole bunch of White House staff and federal employees and had his own event. He's like the petulant little kid who says, "Well, who needs them at my birthday party? I didn't want them here anyway!" By the way, right after he pulled that stunt, both NBA teams in the finals publicly said they wouldn't go to the WH if they won. Before this joker, I've never heard of anyone turning down an invitation to the White House. He's making friends left and right.
Also, who needs "preparation" for this? If you're a septuagenarian born in the US, you damn well better know the anthem by heart. Absolutely no excuse whatsoever especially if you were born in the patriotic age immediately after World War II. You can also find videos from the same event that show he doesn't know the lyrics for "God Bless America." That's an even shorter song.

As of course you know, our National Anthem is played before most sporting events, and people (are supposed to) stand at attention, with many singing along. It is also of course played before official events, certainly with the President present. It's somewhat less common for people in uniform to sing along as well as to salute. It is grossly uncommon for Americans over the age of ten not to know the words, which Traitor Trump clearly does not know as he desecrates the 2017 Memorial Day ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery. Please watch and notice the piece of trump fidget like a ten-year-old anxious to get his piece of candy. (And no, you degenerate quisling, when the National Anthem comes to an end, NOBODY is cheering YOU.)
