Right here🇺🇲
Back again and still getting chills every time.. Soo good!!
I do
I do, my good Sir. greetings from Spain!
Me I just did
Whoever made the decision to get Chris Stapleton to do the national anthem at the Superbowl needs a raise. A defining moment in history. 👏
A defining moment in history, please explain
@@huh88huh it's fairly self-explanatory but since you can't see it I'll oblige. This rendition will be talked about for decades. That alone is what will make it defining.
If this is a defining moment of your history then I'm proud to be European 😂
@@brycewilliams9778 I’m not even American and this made my eyes water. That has never happened before in my 40 years of life so I understand what you mean.

Hell ya I had to come back and watch how it's really supposed to be done
They should have just replayed this tbh lol
Im glad I didn’t see the 2024 version, too many songs in the place of the one REAL anthem

I’ll give the Americans one thing that is unmatched. The love of their country and anthem.
Its awsome to watch.
Thank you. I wish it touched all of us but it doesn't 😊
They are the only things our corporate owned government hasn’t ruined for us yet
There is plenty that live here and hate it. The stronger the hate the stronger the love.
Thank you
Yeah. Our national anthem slaps forsure
I'm not even American, but the Country style rendition of the National Anthem, the Eagles coach shedding tears, and the US Navy with the supercarrier and jets - what a great way to showcase America and instill patriotism in its people. The performance was beautiful and gave me goosebumps.
Yes, sir...me too not even an American, but after hearing this, feels like one...
❤️
I wouldn’t say that was country. He has a soulful style of singing.
I agree, that wasn't country...that was soul.
Thank you that means a lot to me
He didn't "perform" this, he sang it from his soul. It was absolutely breathtaking and exactly what our National Anthem should be.
Okay calm down Becky
AMEN!🙏🇺🇸
He sounded good it all comes from listening to older soulful Black artist soul. Nothing new so it's a big deal to people whenever Caucasians do it. It's just Black singing in whiteface... period

The only time in history flower of Scotland was in a shadow ❤
“Tennessee whiskey” is what he’s known for most
This is my brothers uncle
Stapleton turned it into a gospel.. it’s filled with confidence, hope, strength but still humble. It’s a rendition that makes you thank God for blessing us with such a great country to live in. Very humbling and worth listening to many times for years to come!
It's the anthem of our time. It's subdued, contemplative, and yes, humble. The country is in decline, but there is even more at stake than just a country and her borders.
He should've perfomed in 2024 again. His performance was way too good.
100%
He needs to perform the halftime show also!
Everything in moderation. However, a Stapleton halftime show would actually be legendary. No Bs, no lip syncing, no choreographed nonsense, no fireworks. Just a man and a guitar with the pipes of an angel.
As an immigrant and got a citizenship last week. This had me crying! Thank you America the land of opportunity. I love this country so much🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Congratulations on obtaining your citizenship 😊

I came here to listen to Chris Stapleton sing after I heard Pink say that him singing the National Anthem was the best thing she had ever heard… (besides Whitney Houston’s version)
He sang from his soul and I was in tears. This is how the National Anthem should be sung.✨
Thank you Chris Stapleton ✨✨Thank you✨✨

Haha :) Pink brought me here, too. Peace 😊
I feel so patriotic….. I’m ready to fight for American😭😭
I’m Jamaican, never been to America
Im a Mexican who was brought to America when I was 6 years old. I am 26 now, and my heart is split in two. Some Americans and their laws tell me I’m not from here, and some of my people tell me I’m too Americanized to be Mexican. Growing up I learned about US history and I couldn’t help but feel pride of what this country I call home has accomplished. I’m proud to live here and maybe one day I’ll be able to call myself an American but for now I’ll just shed a tear every time I hear Chris and his guitar singing an anthem about the sons of immigrants fighting for their FREEDOM. God bless America and her sons and daughters!!!
By what you just said I feel that you ARE more American than a lot of Americans that were born in this country. You have been here long enough I feel you have earned your citizenship. You were a child and you have pride in living here. I hope that one day you get a paper saying you are but know in your heart that you are already an American!!♥️♥️🇺🇸
You dont need a piece of paper telling g you that you are American. We have all missed the meaning. We are not Christian's until we are born again. Bieng American is a belief and a way of life not a birthplace or location. You are as american as anyone else.
My American brother. This is your home. Home of the brave.
I'm not even American, but, man, I cried listening to this man. Simple, beautiful and powerful.

This isn't even my national anthem and I got tears 😭 What an performance!
I have never, ever, played the national anthem so much in my entire life. It's like he returned the soul to it after all these years.
Those runs...they make you believe in God if you don't already hahah! Absolutely incredible.
Me either. It sounds so simple and eloquent. But, if you’re a musician you know how there’s nothing simple about it. I think someone counted the notes he sang in that one run, and It was like 74 notes!! As an American, I was so proud of him!! 🇺🇸💪💪🏾💪🏿💪🏼🇺🇸

It's such an inspiring and beautiful rendition of the song. It's simultaneously somber and uplifting and his vocals are not gratuitous, which is the mistake so many people who perform it make.

He is amazing in concert. My best friend of 35+ years took me to his concert in June 2023 in Seattle! Amazing!!!!
You're so lucky, I hope you have a wonderful time.🙂
My boyfriend and I saw him in 2015 at the historic Cain's Ballroom in Tulsa, OK and we were "on the rail", and only paid $15 per ticket.
The main difference between this and other renditions is he sang it as if he was telling the story of the United States reflecting on the pain and sacrifices that got us to where we are instead of just belting. Honestly great performance!
This comment right here is as good as the singing. Very well put
Thank you for this comment. So many people sing the songs with no true idea of where this country stood when it was written. A young country that was facing another attack by the British wanting their colonies back. Nothing was guaranteed at that time due to the strength of the British empire and could we prevail in the War of 1812. Our White House had been burned down, harbors and borders crossed. When the lyrics “oh say does that star spangled banner still wave” has meaning behind it. People too often sing it with a sense of arrogance and often over the top singing completely missing the mark behind the significance of the words in those lyrics. There was a sense of fear and trepidation.
My favorite rendition is Marvin Gaye singing the song in 1983 at the NBA all star game.
Yeah, he is a master storyteller. Jim Croce was also one, but with a very different style.
@@gametime2473 I’ve never heard his rendition. Thank you for letting me know so I can check it out.
Bingo! It's the first time I feel the war and battle behind the Anthem.
I would pay for a studio version of this. Chris never disappoints
A studio version would just be enhanced, tuned, and digitally mastered. This right here came directly from the soul and the heart and will remain on my playlist for good.

From a English sports fan aged 34 having been born and raised all my life in Manchester England, this is simply sensational and is without doubt the best national anthem ever

Chris Stapleton isn't just country. He's in a very elite class of artists who are a genre all their own. He can't be compared to or put in a labeled box. His talent is immeasurable. He sang that from his heart. He gave it a piece of his heart and shared it with us.
Well said! I agree

He’s a Soulful singer.Awesome raspy voice.
He is definitely more blues than country, at least in how he sang the anthem.
He is one of kind
As a Brit I envy your love for your country and your anthem. You guys do it right!! Absolutely nailed it Chris.
The poem that later became the U.S. national anthem was written about the famous Battle of Baltimore during the British-American War of 1812. At one point during this battle, Fort McHenry in Baltimore, Maryland, was bombed for 25 hours straight. I like the fact that you enjoy the American national anthem even though it’s written about the battle between your country and our newly formed country at the time. Pretty ironic but my hats off to you gingerbubbles8. ❤
We love our British brothers and sisters
@@johnguarino8603 it’s true. It’s about Francis Scott Key being a captive on a British boat during the War of 1812. He did write it while GB was bombing. Lol

It is not debatable that this is the best version of Americas national anthem to date coming from an English man I’m happy that use got to experience this and almost jealous in the same sense, so raw and full of emotion and pride, I hope use see through all the politics, division and come together. God bless
I love that Chris and Whitney's versions are SO different. She had a full orchestra, he just had a guitar. Both are so powerful. When you add Hendricks Woodstock solo, and Marvin Gaye's NBA All Star game performance, you begin to musically scratch the surface of what this anthem truly means.
One of the most heartfelt renditions I've ever heard.

For 2 minutes there was no hate, no division, no republicans vs democrats… only Americans who absolutely cried and appreciate Chris Stapleton’s rendition… He did an incredible job and I hope the best for our country… ❤❤
They still stamped a rainbow flag of humans right in the military presence for some reason
@@BilbosaurGaming I double dog dare you to do an ounce of research into why the crew of an aircraft carrier might be wearing those colors.
And not 2 mins. after the game's end, there was hate, division, chiefs vs. eagles fans, and people who were outraged, and some who cried... in some parts of the country....

@@BilbosaurGaming Actually I’m worried you won’t research it, so I’ll fill you in anyway to keep you from blindly spreading your stupidity and bigotry anywhere else. There are countless hands on deck conducting flight operations, with the different bright-colored shirts signifying different roles. Jolly good show if I may say so myself
A powerful moment in time. We no longer watch NFL or NBA (only college) bc the politics are weird now, but thanks Roger Goodall for standing firm on this song being played at NFL games!💪👍The man tries to keep the players from acting like socialists on the field & most of them are not, but yeah.
Anyway…great, heartfelt performance.🙏🇺🇸🙏🇬🇧
@@ADDAuntDawnDisorderspeak for yourself me and everyone else I know watch the NFL still lol. Or maybe you meant “We” as in you and your friends or something
@@getyoowncreepafaceI’m with you. Funny all these people who “stopped watching” are all complaining about Taylor swift now. The viewership last week was the highest ever. I never stopped watching the NFL. I wasn’t a fan of players kneeling being a veteran myself but didn’t make me stop watching the game.
I personally think that he sang the national anthem better than Reba, yes she might be an icon too but Chris Stapleton put so much emotion to his singing. By far the best!
I'm not an American and I was crying as he sang. Dam...... blessings darlings from Granny Linda....
I’m Canadian, but this had me tearing up watching this! Stapleton has always been the man, one of the best anthems in a long time!
sung from his heart!

I saw him in concert a couple of months ago and he literally gave me goosebumps.
@@cyndibradley1822 I can totally understand that.❤ Hope to also see him live someday..
Ditto❤️
Im from the Andromeda galaxy and I cried fluorescent blue radioactive tears during that.
As an Aussie, that gave me chills. I hope I get the chance to see the great man live. His voice just pierces your soul. Just an amazing artist
He just announced he’s coming to Australia. I’m a massive Aussie fan too 🇦🇺🦘
I’m not American but this makes me wish I was!
Chris took everything about American culture and performed it so well.
It was blues, It was rock and it was patriotic!
He made the words and meaning stand out. So much soul and depth. I was bawling. It felt like our country was united for 2 minutes. Felt beautiful! Thanks you, Chris! You made history tonight.
I think you're being a bit melodramatic, but it was a hearty rendition of the anthem. Chris did it justice.
🤣🤣🤣 People really can't tell acting from singing with feeling and this comment section makes that abundantly clear.
Absolutely well said agree 100%
history? wtf dude its just another countries anthem that was sung.
Not sure if they’re being melodramatic. Honestly, I don’t care about football and I’m not watching the Superbowl, but I did check out this rendition and of the national anthem, and it was truly amazing.
I’m a Canadian and that was one of the best national anthems I ever heard that’s a real national anthem. Congrats.👏👏🙏🏻🙏🏻🇨🇦😎

Sounds about yt
@@rock4you07yes it beats Whitney Houston lip syncing in 1991. Grow up.
seeing these grown men tearing up shows how powerful and amazing he was
Just……..wow I’m from uk and can’t believe this man
He made grown, tough men cry like babies. Simply perfection
💕
They’re not that tough. Men playing sports, actually use their feminine yin energy because they use their bodies to perform the work.
