What I really like about you, Alyssa, is that you approach every breed of horse with an open mind and real enthusiasm. You value all horses as well as the people working with them and you never compare like 'Oh, this Icelandic horse is more sturdy and less elegant than the PRE.' Because you see all these animals as something special of their own and this makes it so much fun to travel and explore with you the wonderful types of horses and humans all over the world. Keep it up!
The beauty, athleticism and kindness of this gorgeous, gorgeous fellow...what a gracious teacher and partner he is. Could one ever work with another breed of horse and not be a little disappointed?
I rode a Lusi stallion for a year. He was perfectly obedient and safe enough for a 12 yr old who couldn't canter at the time. He was serious and had a monster work ethic, but bananas would make him extremely happy.
Yes, such a wonderful place. I visited about 15 years ago whilst on a weeks trail ride through Portugals Alentejo region with Raides Vicentinos. All those bay mares and foals relaxing in their big barn and being taken to see the “special boys” in their magnificent stabling. How lucky you were to get the chance to enjoy a ride in the arena. History and the horse together.
That was so lovely to watch, what a privilege to ride such a wonderful horse!! Thanks so much to you and all at the stud to let us see their incredible horses ❤❤❤❤❤
They are often hot and sensitive and are almost too smart for their own good. If you want a relaxed horse don't get one of these. They basically think like a military person would, all work work work and go go go and yes sir.
Yes I have been at the studio farm in 2018. I was in the barn with the horses. Saw the auction and would love to have bought one. I have a Lusitano and just love them…
What a gorgeous breed. Thinking up this series was such a brilliant idea -- I envy all the horses you get to meet and ride. You are a beautiful rider and clearly a very empathetic person :)
I was never aware that the Lusos were all bay horses. I love this breed so much, it was a toss up whether to own an Andalusian or Lusitano [which are rare in BC]. I was lucky to find a bay Andy! But, now that I have been educated by you! Thank you! I loved being on your shoulder looking down upon that gorgeous stallion's mane. What an incredible stallion! Your riding never fails to impress me! You looked amazing on him! 🤩
They are not all bay...they have a variety of coat colors including gray and chestnut. Even the occasional white coat. I think the horses at this stud were specifically bred for that color.
Lusitanos can be many colours, including grey, dun, buckskin, cremello and pearl. At this stud they specifically breed the Alter Real Lusitano, those are always bay.
It is the former Royal stud farm , the colour was just a King's choice for the GNR (Guarda Nacional do Rei - The King's National Guard ) , today the guard is still called GNR but meaning Guarda Nacional Republicana - National Republican Guard. You can see them escorting the Greek to Coimbra University. ua-cam.com/video/276UnXRQz20/v-deo.html
My goodness - what a lovely breed! I think I have heard the name (Lusitano), but I had no idea about them. It was also something to see that many mares with their foals all crowded around each other and no kicking or biting.

Why retire a horse of 17 years who can be great in dressage, becaus he's telling he was healed and competef very well. A horse of 17 is'nt to old. A lusitano is almost same as PRE and andaluzian. Don't they do working equitation there?😍
Looks like just any another 14h feral horse to me. Nothing special. Call 'em what you will, a feral horse is a feral horse. Put 'em in a barn or pasture with other tame horses and you wouldn't look twice at them.
You’re renewing my old love for horses! Thank you! God bless your project!
What a magnificent breed! A National treasure of Portugal!

Oh my word these horses are so noble .
MY ALL TIME FAVORITE BREED.😍🥰

@@dactylichexaphoebster-vx5nv I prefer to think of horses as partners in an agreement rather than "obedient" servants.
I absolutely love these horses!❤️
They look so smooth and docile...
Lusitano, the best horse in the world!!! :)
Wow! Beauty! I love the way horses are kept in many countries, one big herd, so natural. Again, you ride so well. Well done.

His ears are so pretty! You are one lucky girl to ride him.
What an amazing facility… I love baroque horses ❤

Omg! It was a paradise! Lusitanos are aweome horses. I need to visit Portugal specifically the place you went too. lol🥰
I love these beautiful horses. This would be the breed I'd want to own! What a treat to see this many Lusitano horses at once.

@@dactylichexaphoebster-vx5nv They are the dream horse I'd choose if I had the money and skills to practice dressage and jumping.
My ever favorite Horsebreed ❤
So beautiful! I'm so happy to see places like this. Thank you for your work!

Wow, amazing! How these people watch the horses while talking to you. They are in constant awe 😊❤
If you are still in Portugal, go to Golega for the horse fair. It's amazing!
Yes I have been at the studio farm in 2018. I was in the barn with the horses. Saw the auction and would love to have bought one. I have a Lusitano and just love them…

The best breed of the world!
A melhor raça do mundo!
Die beste Rasse der Welt!
Fantastic experience! It's fun watching you become a better rider.
Great ride!
He moves like a cloud!

Exquisite !
❤❤❤❤❤so beautiful
Awesome!!!❤ it would have been nice to know why some mares have a bell around their necks! 😊
Alter do chão. ..com os cavalos portugueses😊
.
Don’t know much about this breed. They’re gorgeous.
Portugal muito bueno
Wow!!
Are you planning to ride a Saddlebred? I have a Georgian Grande and would love to see your thoughts on the horse! Love this series SO much!!
She has already done both breeds 🙂
Harikalar ❤
Sorry. Amazing.

Are you still in Portugal? Will you go to Golega?
How many inside? 2340?
Impression.

Do the stallions get any turnout? This would be my first concern.
