I bought a bunch of the ones you guys suggested in a recent video, and pitted them against each other in a pencil sharpener grudge match! I love finding cheaper makeup dupes! Marisa Mitchell I always get a little chunk of the pencil stuck in the end of the sharpener, then it never sharpens pencils properly!

Marisa Mitchell I use a metal spatula to get all the gunk out and a toothbrush to scrub off the rest. Works way better than anything else I've ever tried.

I would absolutely love this. I've NEVER used an eyelash curler because they kinda terrify me... Lol. I'd love to have Cora's opinion on which ones are the best.
Cearmta I'd love to see this as well. I've used a crappy elf one, and after some time it actually started pulling out my eyelashes!! I switched over to one from tweezerman which I've had for over a year, and no lashes getting pulled out. love it, also love that I don't have to pay more than $12 for it.

+1 for "Test Drive"
+1 for Tweezerman's classic silver/light blue curlers (though I've only tried 5-6 different curlers. ever)
What's tougher about curlers is that it's VERY person specific b/c how well it works is heavily related to ones eye shape in relation to the sharpener. There are of course other factors as well but if the shape isn't a good match to your eye the best made curler won't work well.
I've recently been desperately struggling with precisely this issue. Thanks so much for your recommendation and the tips on what makes a good sharpener. Now I have to do is find how to purchase this in Australia.
I just found the Beautique sharpener on eBay for $33! Man, it sucks being in AU.
So I picked up that Beautique sharpener today at Sally's in Toronto. Cost $5.29. Thanks for"pointing" us to the best pencil sharpener to use Cora. I am so pleased!! :)
honestly, this series is gonna be so awesome! very rarely do I ever see people do videos on tools, not just brushes. this is super helpful!

Oh, I LOVE you for this video! I've been struggling with sharpeners forever. I hate dropping $20 bucks on a nice liner only to have it get ground to hell in bad sharpeners that don't even get particularly sharp!
A TIP I USE: I do an ahead prep for my dull soft make up pencils and that is to put them in the freezer for about 4 or 5 minutes, then I sharpen them with a cheapy off brand sharpener, of course do not be rough, and I get a nice sharp point every time.
I loved this. Finding the perfect pencil sharpener or eye lash curler is never really talked about by the beauty guru's here on UA-cam. You get to hear about their favorite or current random beauty tool but no one ever goes into depth about them. These types of tools are often just over looked for not being fun enough. I love this but then again I also like your Asian Q-tip video as well. Informative and incredibly helpful.

I've been using a small handheld regular pencil sharpener for my eyeliners. Works amazing!!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH! I can't even begin to tell you how many eyeliner pencils I have thrown away after trying to sharpen them with several different regular pencil sharpeners. Watched your video and today bought the Beautique model. . . it really works! I had a couple pencil stubs left from my last round of trying and being defeated over and over. The new sharpener is a dream. I hate the goey kohl liners, just awful. Now i have a great new tool!

Poor sharpeners have been my pet peeve as well so this comparison is brilliant! Thank you! I'm surprised you didn't mention the built in 'toothpick' cleaning tool on some of them like in the Clinique one. It's handy to swipe the blade to with between shavings. Anyway nice vid! I think I will head to Sally's for their version! Nifty!

That technique works really good.
I love the wet and wild one which has both sizes. The angle it has sharpens my pencils like a dream. Even the chubby nyx eyeshadow pencils.

the one by Barry M is the same style as the Sally beauty one and is amazing, not sure if you can get that in the states but is available in the drugstore in the UK

Holy Moly Girl, I ran out and purchased the sharpener from Sally's for $3.99 and you are right this sharpener kicks major butt! Love it, love u keep these tips coming.
The MAC blade gets dull very fast!! I have been using the UD one for about a year, and while it does not get the liner extremely sharp, the blade DOES stay strong for a long time. I will definitely have to get that Sally one!! This was AN AWESOME VIDEO.. GREAT INFO!! THANKS :)

Great idea! The ones that are printed, Made In Germany, tend to be the sharpest and last the best, but I'm excited to see what your list is!

Tour? YES!!! Oh the struggle to find a great sharpener...... I did find that putting my item in the freezer for 15 min does help when you have a crap sharpener. Thanks for a great video!

Very helpful! I bought a pencil sharpener, and it was useless. I ordered the one you recommended for getting a really sharp tip. Now if I could only find a truly firm eyebrow pencil (I like making those sharp, tiny little individual hair-like pencil strokes, and the soft pencils just don't do that).
I find my urban decay pencils the hardest to sharpen. The only sharpener I have out of an entire bag that works is one by sue Devitt. It fits multiple sizes and doesn’t squish the tip or ruin the part that keeps the eyeliner in

Awesome! I have the other beautique sharpener they keep next to the check out at Sally's, the one that's all German steel. It is a solid beast but I'm excited about this other encased one of theirs.
Thanks to you, I now have a sharpener that gives a wonderfully precise point without the waste! My previous sharpeners did not deliver a usable point & consistently mangled my eye pencils, which became expensive. Thank you for making this video.

Love the review I have had this issue for years.. and was about to give up on the pencils from Urban decay as the tip always gets dull so fast! and couldn't get it sharp enough- like new.

I *DESPISE* those stoppers so much! I want my pencils to be sharp, so I can get the smallest line possible. The Sephora and Ulta ones, plus a random drugstore one that I've had for years, make them *sooo* blunt! They make it impossible for me to line the inner corner of my eyes the way that I like, or get any kind of point to a winged liner look. They make me so angry! I'm definitely going to be picking up that Beautique sharpener ASAP. [BTW, great vid/series idea.]

Hi! I’m 75! Well, not quite! Dec. 31! The END of this HORRIBLE YEAR! (2020) I swear this year was a decade! You overlooked the cleaning tool that comes in the NARS sharpener! That BEAUTIQUE is too complicated! Too many decisions just for eyeliner! Makeup is supposed to be FUN! Especially when I can’t even leave my home! (Compromised lungs due to pulmonary embolism a year ago. I read a lot: over 70 books since January...sigh.) Anyway, my first time here and I’m coming back! You’re adorable! 🌹

The Benefit pencil sharpener is amazing. It has the two size holes, a customizer for the larger hole, and a small piece o plastic that is meant to help clean the sharpner so you dont stick your fingers into the blade. Not sure of the price but I love it

Years ago, I loved a drugstore one called Styli Style. Haven't seen it in a long time.
I have the NARS one and it's great but my favorite is a Revlon one I bought 25 years ago at a flea market. No joke!

MAC's news Universal sharpener will give you the sharpest end; inside the sharpener there is an insert for each "razor" that you take in and out. I had never seen this before lol

I needed this video.Thanks! I've had no luck with sharpners and soft pencils like UD and the new NYX. I just bought the UD sharpener, assuming it would be awesome with the softer pencils like they make, but back to the store it will go (unused).

I also love the Tati / LOC sharpener. It's only available on Birchbox, but it's SUPER sharp.

I have the Nars sharpener, but I'm going to get that beautique one on my way home today! The Nars one is flimsy and it doesn't do well with my softer pencils.
I love my NARS sharpener. Great for their chubby lip pencils too!

I have been so frustrated with mine and none of the beauty channels I normally watch had anything on the topic. This was an amazing video. I ran to Sally's right after and I just sharpened all of my lip and brow pencils that I was dying to use. That sharpener is amazing and it was only $3.99!! You're the best!!

Super interesting! I've always wondered how much better pricier sharpeners actually are; I have a pretty oil UD one that's my current favorite but I've been thinking it's time to replace it & none of my others are quite as good (and are also pretty old!)
