We just restored the old mill house into a restaurant featuring Pabst Blue Ribbon and are connected to the historic Brewhouse Inn and Suites adjacent! Love seeing this footage of how everything looked before we stepped in!
Hi,
I worked for the Pabst Brewing Co in1982 in Newark, NJ but visited this brewhouse a few times when it worked. I believe at the time it was the oldest working brewhouse in the USA. 3 Mash Filters feeding 6 brew kettles in a row with stained glass at the end naturally lit, which you didn't show. Everything was white tile. It looked like the Church of Beer at the time. Still a thrill when I look at it now....thanks for the memories. By-the-way, it pre-dates the brewhouse at Anheuser-Busch in St.Louis by a few years. Thanks again! Pabst was a great company back when they owned breweries (I guess they still do own one now..but it's in China! Paul Kalmanovitz was an ass, that wrecked the brewing industry, taking down Pabst, Ballantine, Falstaff, Pearl, and Naragansett, just to name a few....Wikipedia Mister Paul Kalmanovitz if you don't believe me.
Prost!
What exactly happen to this brewery to shut down at the time?
A Good video, nice to see thee end results, like this of a Big American brewery. Thnaks for making this video and posting it.
Thank You for the video. It looks like it was a beautiful building. They sure don't make breweries like that anymore. I would like to go see Best Park now and see what is left.
It was covered at the time of the video and had been for 15 years... It was just uncovered.. its beautiful
This place was and is amazing.
Looks like something you’d see in Fallout 3
To bad you did not get closer to the stain glass widow.
