- Another brewing promotional video at the Hamm's Brewery in Saint Paul Minnesota back in the glory days about how they made the beer.
The buildings now are in dire shape and it's actually sad what has become of it.
After watching this video, you can see the pride the brewery had back then.

My great grandfather was a brewer for hamms 1903-1953 . 50 year employee
He did receive the coveted ultra rare 50 year employee 14k lord Elgin watch .. it looks nice on me .

In the 80s, I would stop by the brewery with a jug and catch some spring water. Probably why I have the thirst.

TYVM for the film that's a treasure for sure. Films like this are more than what they convey but a true testament of years gone by that have to be remembered. A truly bipartisan effort going on there folks.
They let the old brewery become an abandoned ruin.
Jacob Schmidt was brewmaster early on there in Swede Hallow.
This was just before they thought of the Bear adds.
Looks like about 1953 to me, what a cool time for our country.

Born and raised across the tracks from the grain elevators. Played many ball games in the malthouse parking lot and knew several water fountains around the property. St. Paul Brewery occupies the old brewhouse portion of the site.

@@LandOfSkyBeerWaterscom Building forts in the stacks of pallets. Remember the Grain Elevators were the Fallout shelters. Seeing the bottling line - bottles whipping by. Employee cafeteria with coolers of various beers.

Back when the beer was in St Paul Minnesota now it's brewed in Milwaukee at the Miller brewery I wasn't around when it was brewed in St Paul Minnesota nice video Hamm's the beer refreshment

Sometimes I wonder how close hamms today tastes compared to them. It must be close.
Love this vid. However, some of it I don't understand. They refer to Theo Hamm sought the "Sky Blue Water" and from what I've read, Theo Hamm knew very little on how to brew beer. However in this film they make it sound like he was the brew master.
But I guess that's how they paid homage to the man who got it all started.
He did get the brewery from another guy as a business deal so you never know.

Gosh this is depressing seeing how good life used to be. Now the plant is abandoned and the once proud beer from Minnesota is made in Wisconsin.
I know right. Its crazy how the place was bustling at one point only to be neglected and left to decay. I could say it was the Hamm's family who decided to sell the company at the height of popularity but then everyone else didnt know what to do with the brand and the brewery itself went into disarray.

From what I could make out at the end this was produced around 1958. Everything looked shiny and up to date, even the trucks at the end looked new. Not much left but the remaining buildings these days. I believe the micro brew Flat Earth Brewing is using part of them today.
Hamms does have a distinct flavor of its own ! A Great American lager!
Must have been filmed before 1951,as they eliminated the tax meter within the brewery.
Some of the automobiles seen in a few shots appear to be from around 1953-54.

Craft beer is what the Egyptians did before the Germans figured out the cheapest best way to get hammered
Beers like Hamm's, Schlitz and PBR were well on their way out in the late 70's and early 80's before craft beers ever got rolling in America. However, PBR made quite a comeback over the last 10-15 years. Not a bad beer, really.
Yes,we need to get rid of all these factories..all they do is provide good jobs for the local families..oh wait that's what we did on the Eastside back then!!! No wonder there's no jobs there
