    What is horrific, is now the "civilised" ruzzians treat soldiers who make a mistake, there was a story recently of a 62 year old thrown into a pit without clothes for a few days. I went out onto the balcony with my cat for a few minutes in west Ukraine and it was freezing, I had to go back inside and let the cat look out the window on her own. Anyway, that's not the way a winning army operates.

    The US are culpable for the continuation of this war. If they had said to Russia at the outset that if they attacked Ukraine and upheld their promise, the US and partners would then furnish Ukraine with any weapon they needed (bar nuclear and chemical) and then it wouldn't have happened, if it did, then the Russian forces would have been wiped out at the onset of hostilities. Even now, certain NATO countries want to use longer range weapons but are not allowed to because the guidance satellite systems are US controlled so have to ask for permission? Good grief! Who's the world power here?

    • @NATO2000

    • @robbie4084
      @robbie4084 9 днів тому

      Its not as simple as that
      Amd FYI it was the US (President Biden) who put the 52+ country strong alliance for Ukraine,
      Combine this with the sanctions on Russia and a cap on oil pricing generally + the US boosting its oil production under President Biden (biggest producer in the world today)
      Sure more can be done,
      But this is a marathon not a sprint
      All the pieces are coming together,
      The US has obviously helped Ukraine here as had the EU and all the other allies.

    No. Enforcing the sanctions could be counter productive. Right now Russia sells Urals oil (not Light Sweet Crude) at a discount. her clients, like India, acquire as much as they can, keep what they need and dump the rest on the market. This is constantly pushing the price of oil down. Extracting oil has a cost and you can't shut down the wells because it's extremely time consuming and expensive to restart them. At 67$/bl, Russia is very close to losing money when she sells oil meaning it may soon be 40% of her deficit.

  • @annehersey9895
    @annehersey9895 11 днів тому

    I know one reason WHY Russia was going full guns to Prokovsk and then halted to start filling out their flanks. They psyched themselves out with help from our friends at Russia 1 and Russia Today. Semenyan and Solovyov all of a sudden as Russia was getting close to the final push got worried-and I heard some military personnel get worried also. They had a good run where they were able to advance almost at will and Ukraine was having trouble stopping them-right after the Kursk invasion. So, the Russian talking heads in Moscow and on TV said; ‘Wait a minute!’, this is too easy. What’s Ukrainian doing?’ Then I start hearing and seeing Social Media posts from Milbloggers talking about how Ukraine must be setting up an ambush or booby traps or both and that’s why Ukraine was letting them advance like that’s what they were hoping for. And that’s exactly when Russia stopped even trying to take Prokovsk. Ukraine has played so many tricks on them that they aren’t even trying anymore. It’s incredulous to me. Hey, maybe they are right and Ukraine rigged the whole town to explode the minute the town is full of Ruskies. I doubt it but if it keeps them out of that town then great!

  • @angmori172
    @angmori172 12 днів тому +4

    Regarding Ruskies spending 50% on average of their income on food vs Europoors spending 15%: add to that the fact that the average European eats significantly more expensive food.
    Not necessarily higher nutritional quality (looking at our average BMI lol), but definitely more expensive.
    So food is cheaper in russia, yet they spend an insane proportion of their income on it.

      A journalist from my country, Canada, went to Moscow to check out the state of the economy and how deprived the people were because of the war and sanctions, which was a story published in the New York Times. He found the stores stocked with food right to the ceiling and gas prices cheaper than the cheapest prices in America. He then went about 30 miles outside of Moscow to a farmer's market to ask those people how they were suffering under the sanctions. They just looked at him like he was nuts...there was no suffering or shortages of anything, except for a few American products they could no longer buy.

    Great interview.
    Getting serious about the shadow fleet is something President Trump will not do. He will keep the price of oil down, but he will not directly challenge Putin. My opinion.

      It's not a game. There is no WIN in a war; one side prevails while the other is destroyed. In this conflict, there are close to one million casualties with five million refugees.

    Lukoil, russian owned oilcompany, also one of the world largest. This company has a refinery in Siracusa, Sicily, Italy!. Tons of russians are working there. Plant capacity are +300.000 barrels a day. The terminals are always buzzy with ships. Lukoil also supply its Turkish refinery STAR with a capacity of +200.000 bpd. Bulgaria Lukoil refinery Neftohim-Burgas capacity 200.000 bps. Hungary, Danube refinery MOL are supplied by Lukoil, Cap +165.000 bpd. Putin and his oil Oligarchs still control large parts of the global oil market. And not surprisingly also Nato and EU countries. Brgds.

    It is so great to hear Chuck. I loved listening to him on Twitter Spaces Tuesday and Thursday evenings. But, I refuse to go anywhere near Twitter since Musk took over. Thank you Chuck for all you do for us. Miss you.

    Absolutely hope you both are right. However, not counting on it. Putin has painted himself in a corner but is still a cat with especially vicious claws. And a cornered cat is very dangerous. Especially with the resources he still has. And no prospect for an easy way out for himself personally.

      If Putin was in a corner, why did he tell the west and Zelensky that there will be no negotiations...aren't losers always happy to negotiate?

    Lads you're more than welcome to force the audio to mono if the thing is being weird. I'd rather have sound in both ears.
