    Definitely need to give this a go! I've saved exploded-view screenshots of the favourite ship I've built, so I should be able to easily recreate it this way and make it a lot easier to have available without building it fresh every time!

      Unique means there's only one in the game. Always means every time you visit the vendor, he has one to sell. I think that's the difference.

    One of the best tutorials I've ever seen! I followed you step by step and it worked perfectly the first time! Would you consider doing one on how to create your own custom interiors in the CK, or how to add game decorative items like all those wall mounted computer console pads to the ship and outpost decorator lists?

      @@RichardBejtlich I made some fairly popular mods for Fallout New Vegas and Skyrim, so I knew my way around that version pretty well, but I'm basically lost in this version of the CK, lol.

      @@RichardBejtlich Hey I just discovered that none of the empty habs show up in the starship builder. I tried adding the other BGS esm files with the same prefix as the other but no dice. Any ideas?

      Sorry to make obvious points, but all I can think are 1) the right esm are where they need to be so CK can see them and 2) you select the esm you need when you are building. They don't have to be the active file, but they do need to be loaded.

    I imagine that saves you a ton of time. I love building Spaceships and its a bit frustrating loosing some of them in NG+.

    wow, so well done. you make it seem easy. I'd do this if i could run CK on a mac :) Though i can rebuild my fave ships in game in about the same amount of time now, ive done them so often.

    Okay, I agree, it'd be nice to take stuff with you, but, if I have the right of it, your character is basically being torn apart at a molecular level, dispersed into the cosmos of your current universe as a way to give back to the Unity and at the same time, a new body, but ONLY the organic material (if you notice when you start NG plus, your character is completely naked under the starborn suit, save for some skivvies for the sake of modesty), is constructed in the destination universe. Inorganic matter (Including neuroamps) is left behind. You're not supposed to keep your previous life's allotments.

      That’s fine, but I like having a ship either certain capabilities ready to go for every character I create. I do a lot of mod testing so this approach is a huge time saver.

      ​@@erinpitt580well it's giving you a choice so nothing is being stripped away at all.
      You're willingly surrendering it. It's a question of perception.
      & the best thing is, if you're attached to your ships& outposts, you can visit the unity any time for a cheeky look & just come right back! Best of both worlds.
      I think it's actually a brilliant bit of game design.

      I have a question: What is causing the ship editor to be grayed out once I pick a ship to use as a starting point.
      Following your instructions works perfectly except I can't open the ship editor.

      Its not really taking it with you it's being able to purchase that ship in the next universe just like all the other ships in the game its no different than being about to buy a Vista III again in next universe

    Going to give this a try later today so I can keep my Claymore III instead of farming it. I also assume since I use the DarkStar Astrodynamics mod, I'd select that as well (seems an obvious 'yes', but I've never actually made a mod before, lol).

      Yes, although I've seen reports that if your mod needs SFSE, it might not work in CK. I haven't tried that yet.

    Wish they let us keep the ship as a blueprint and then we have to build it up such a better system and then let us make the ship available to the creation club

    I have just a few questions if you don't mind 😊
    If I make a ship using the ship vendor framework - will that ship mod require the framework in order to be installed?
    If I wanted to make a ship that replaces the Frontier and Razorleaf, but then have the originals available at a ship vendor, how would I do that? I imagine I could follow your guide to copy the original Frontier and Razorleaf and add to a vendor list, but to replace the originals I'm not sure

      YW, yes you need to have SVF installed anywhere you want to use a ship made in this way. Replacing in game ships is outside of what I know, although you could make a mod that does that by overwriting those records I assume?

    I have one question though. Are you limited to default ship parts, or can you include mods in your creation the they way that you can in Creation Kit for Skyrim?

      You can include mods, ALTHOUGH I haven't tried any that rely on SFSE. I try to avoid that so it's compatible on Xbox too.

    “PLEASE HELP” So when I get to Open Spaceship Editor it says “This ship has a interior or exterior cell attached. Those cells must be edited to customize this ship.” I don't know what to do lol I choose the same ship to start with that you did in the video I tried multiple ships and I get the same message when I try to click the open spaceship editor

      ⁠@@RichardBejtlich Ok so I was at a loss so I decided to reload the CK and this time I only opened the Starfield.esm and the shipvendorframework.esm and left out the sfbgs006.esm and now I can open the ship builder with no issues weird don't know why that happened but thanks for getting back to me

      @@GhostlySound I only Load the Starfield. esm and Shipvendorframework.esm not the update.esm file like he does in the video and everything works perfectly I've uploaded several Ships to Creation Club and use them in my game and so do a lot of other people with no issues. I am not sure why it doesn't work for me but does for him loading the update.esm its weird but doesn't seem to make a difference after uploading several ships

    How do you set a custom price for a ship in the CK?

    Hello, first of all thank you for this small guide!
    And here comes the but...I followed all the steps activated my .esm but my ship is not shown. Tried it already at different locations/vendors and also both as always and unique.
    I'm getting no errors or crashes during the game, just the ships are not there.
    Are there any potential hints or culprits for this?

      Are you sure SVF and your esm are loaded?

      @@RichardBejtlich Yep. Both activated and mods that are based on SVF are working.

      Out of curiosity I tested running it via Vortex (avoid using it for Starfield because of the past data and "my documents" troubles).
      This seems to fix it.
      Strangely enough in the "creations" tab my esm was active before using vortex but nothing shows ingame, with vortex it works now.

      @@RichardBejtlich How does one remove a master as a dependency? I decided not to use habz, and I've removed those habz, but I can't seem to disable that plugin. I double click to uncheck it, and save but it comes right back as checked.

      @@RichardBejtlich This actually seems possible. Load your esp in ck, then go to file/data and click on your esp. I unchecked the plugin on the left side and then on the top right, you can ctrl-del all the plugins you don't want. saved and it seems to have worked. so far ...

      Pink might just be a marker or other overlay. Are they correct in game?

    I'm running into the problem right away that my Ship vendor framework is not showing up in the esm list when i click on data. i'm only getting the stock starfield esms. Any idea what i'm doing wrong or how ? I use mod organizer to download all my mods.

      Does the SVF esm appear in the same directory on your system as starfield.esm, etc.?

      If you're using MO2, you can run the Creation Kit from there and have access to all the mods you have installed.

    Nothing but a painful reminder to me about how creations mods ruined my original save, including all the ships I'd spent months building, changing, improving, & refining until they were 'just right'.. only to lose them all.. and still no known fix for recovering saves without file corruptions..😢
