@@ipanemakid3058It's the dealership that's always had yellow lines outside before they even moved in which seems like poor research to me, if they didn't notice those double yellows, what do they miss about their inspecting cars 🤔
@@ipanemakid3058 An agreement they clearly don't have evidence of? If you look at the brown fence behind the cars, that's been moved forward because they were parking on that land behind it. This is a mental situation / road. But... when the road is owned by the council and there are double yellows there there needs to be tickets or a physical solution (gates, sell road to unit with path down the other side) I also note that there is no obligation on the owner or tenants of the unit to store so many cars that they need to park on the road. If the space is not suitable for your business - and you say you want more space - then move!
I have never heard of a business being able to park on double yellow lines? Perhaps your landlord owns that bit of road and therefore it’s not for the council to enforce but if that is public highway then I doubt l, as a business, you will get an exemption? If somebody told me I was exempt for parking on double yellow lines, I would want to see evidence of this, not just oral.
I note the white peugeot has no tax or MOT, is it legal to park it it on the public highway or do you own that piece of land, if so the yellow lines are irrelevant
I guess if that tarmac is adopted by highways and it’s got double yellow lines on it then they have every right to ticket your cars. If it’s owned by the landlord of your unit then they can rock on….
Double yellows have always been there INFACT the fence you see in the video behind the cars was also brought forward because they were parking on land that wasn't theirs. Google maps confirms this.
Had a quick look on Google Maps historical photos - the double yellows were there way before your business was. It looks like the fence was brought forward too as it wasn't your garages land. You must of known all this before, you're definitely at fault.
Went auctions last week most well over clean price crazy. Tidy the fiesta up nice polish ect. Maybe 100 off max on the land rover as a gesture. Blue fiesta will sell quick.
get fork lifts in your garage mate , that will do the trick , 2 car fork lift. see i am a ex insurace broker and salesman for a big retail giant and know exactly what you need. ebay has them cheap. 😄
New subscriber. Re the land rover id neither discount or take his part ex. Re that blue fiesta id have been embarrassed to bring it to you in that awful condition it was rank inside ive just part exchanged an 11 plate juke but paid £30 for a mini valet and got top money as a result
That double yellow line you can’t park past does look a bit weird like the public highway ends there, but you are blocking the path which could be the reason for the tickets. If it isn’t your private property and as per a previous comment there are cars with no mot then they can’t be parked on public paths or highways. Looks like you’ve got too many cars for the size of the premises and you want jam on both sides of your bread.
The fella interested in the Disco sounds like he is going to be a pain. I never give a discount over the phone. If they chip you over the phone they will pick up on every blemish and want more money off. Some customers just aren't worth the hassle.
my advice liam is listen to Kris and chill about it. Personally Id let them issue tickets, One the road doesnt even look like its highway (Could be wrong) and secondly the yellow isnt continous its missing over the drain, I had similar in Reading a parked there for 8 months, along with others until the council joined the gaps.
Unless the road is unadopted or private and not maintained by your Highway Authority then you have to comply with any restrictions placed upon it. In hindsight not the best place to have a car sales unit - where do your customers park? Are you near a town centre and the double lines are there to prevent people using it as free parking and restricting your access? Many questions that you should have checked with your local authority instead of complaining after the fact. Maybe if you respectfully contact them you maybe able to negotiate lifting restrictions - one final observation for a no- through road it looks very well maintained and adds value to your business - just need to store some cars offsite and arrange viewings by appointment but presumably still have customer parking problem.
Have a word with your local councillor, they usually have a local surgery meeting. The majority are useless but yours might be helpful. You need a business users only area. The current road markings don't allow anyone to park there.
Freelander may have had all common issues fixed. Even though Discovery Sport similar engine, might be less reliable. Assume there’s no more than 3mm tread depth difference across all 4 wheels or you’ll have a problem with the diff.
I would wonder who decided to put those lines in, on your side of the road. Are they doing the job they are aimed at? Perhaps a different approach from the council might be possible. Find out who your local and county councillor is and get their help. They will want to ensure that your business is unencumbered by unnecessary red tape. Perhaps some big signs saying Private Business parking only might help? Although that might incur a cost . Just my thoughts.~ As far as the motor is concerned, offer them a tank of fuel and six months road tax, as a goodwill gesture.🙂
@@weflipcarsUK well I'm still trying to set myself up. As you've said you have done more to keep the Land Rover Discovery on the road it's worth every penny. Knock off £200 for petrol and car tyres. Good luck !

The 'state' haven't sucked anything from them. They've been very generous by only issuing warnings when they could have just issued £50 & £70 penalties (& even then, they can get 50% off if paid promptly). I've seen some of their videos where they're blocking the pavement & much of the road with cars so pedestrians, including mums with push-chairs, are having to navigate around them whilst cars are being prepped, painted etc (Abarth 595 video?). Their 'victim video' isn't a good look when it's them that are taking the pi55.
No brainer.. you’ve got cars parked over pavement, people with restricted vision and / or wheelchair users have to go into road. Good luck with new premises though lads you won’t have this problem 👍
Simple, cover the plates with your company name plates , if you still get tickets the warden has removed them which is criminal damage, check your cctv.
Would it not be sensible to remove the yellow lines and put up relevant signs and a possibly pop up posts to show your business boundaries. The council have created your issue. I would put a camera up , are the tickets put on out of business hrs, I bet it’s the same geezer that’s issuing them ,
