Thank you for this post! I was first exposed to the local punk scene via a show on KBOO called “Hardcore Christmas”, KBOO and 2nd Ave Records were so integral in exposing locals to the great music in the area, as well as hard to find releases you just couldn’t get anywhere else.
Cathy once came into the grocery store i worked at I hadn't gone for a long time I dont ever remember telling my name when I would get records there but she was actually surprised to see me and remembered my name it was both weird but cool its amazing that they've not only been in business since the early 80s but expanded from a small space to a bigger space🙂

Best record store in the NW guaranteed
These guys really are so great. I hope they are around for many years to come. Support your local record stores!

Best record store period
They got the best selection when it comes to local Hip-Hop.
2nd ave is my favorite record store they got the best selection by far!
I’ll second that comment. I hope they’ll be here forever.
Best record store in Portland, by far. Been going there since I was 13. Wish I had the money to buy more stuff. And record store day is coming up!
