He is the typical uncle next door who thinks he knows everything & looks down upon everyone else. By using the example of one & only one actress who can demand an equal pay with the male actors(that too because she proved herself in other industries) to discredit thousands of other women who are exploited and denied fair treatment in their work place,he is showing how insensitive and dishonest he is to others around him. The interviewer's discomfort at his line of answering is so evident.
I'm glad, someone actually pointed it out. Just because he is an amazing artist and has done really good work, such people's opinions may not be always right and unfortunately people tend to confuse the on screen persona with the off screen persona.
Fine that is a view....he has his own points to prove.
Sreenivasan is correct like how can a women heroine be paid equal to men.....when people wants hero in the movie....and the wave follows them.

Yea, that one was about equality and he lost his credibility by his response. Dont understand how he cud explain that in terms of physical attributes alone. That inappropriate comment discloses an extreme lack of responsibility from a socially aware citizen.

I don't think he questioned gender equality. Men and women are not the same and won’t be.
