Dr. Otis Williams speech during his ceremony before revealing his very own street name in Detroit!

Temptations Community, fans were coming to see Otis, yesterday! The other day in the home of Motown Records, the last original member of the Temptations Dr. Otis Williams was celebrated, as they unrevealed his very own street named after him just a block from where his old house was located. 'Otis C. Williams' is now the new street name under Wisconsin in Detroit, Michigan. ‪@thetemptationsofficial‬ (Jawan Jackson, Ron Tyson, Terry Weeks, Tony Grant), their manager Shelly Berger, and many fans attended the ceremony to celebrate the legend, himself. Otis also made a speech during his honorary moment.

"To have my name on the street that I used to live on - I never would have imagined that such wonderful accolades would be bestowed upon me, and I am so very thankful," Williams told the assembled audience of Motown figures, civic dignitaries and excited neighborhood residents. In a sparkling jacket, sunglasses and a "DETROIT"-emblazoned cap, Williams credited fans and the 27 singers who have served alongside him in the Temptations through the decades."
I just love you all for loving us throughout all the changes that we've been through," said Williams, the group's lone surviving original member. He also paid tribute to the Tempts' longtime manager, Shelly Berger, who sat nearby.
The ceremonial street designation - along Wisconsin Street at Santa Clara on the city's northwest side is among several across Detroit honoring hometown music stars, including Stevie Wonder Avenue, Marvin Gaye Drive, Aretha Franklin Way and David Ruffin Avenue." - read more on there website!
I'm so happy to see the man that help create the legacy get his flowers while he's still thriving at 82 years old! This shows that people were coming to see Otis, after all. You most definitely deserved it, Dr. Otis Williams. Keep on carrying the legacy. We as a Temptations Community are right there with you!
