Two important corrections to the video. 1) You cannot use the on board 5v BEC for a video transmitter or camera. It's only for small things like receiver and GPS. 2) The default channel order is TAER. There is no need to go through the silly steps I did of trying to figure out the correct channel order. Just set it in your Mixer screen to 1=Throttle, 2=Aileron/Roll, 3=Elevator/Pitch, 4=Rudder/Yaw. This is a case where I was just over-thinking things.
Also you should in your review video include the fact that the last few FW updates like B25/B26 have some cool new features just added. Alex is adding new stuff and making bug fixes nearly everyday it’s insane!
You should revisit this with a Kiss Ultra V2! I noticed in this video you used the V1 and it’s still good. But I believe the V2 flies much better, especially following the tuning guide in the wiki and on EBRFPV’s UA-cam for BL32 settings. V2 has H7 MCU, with IIM42652 gyro. I really have a love/hate relationship with KISS. I've bought almost 10 Kiss FC's, 5 - gen 1 kiss FC's and 5 gen 2 kiss FC's. I bought 4 kiss FC's at once in 2018 with the thought of conquering the KISS FC since it's SO touchy and burns out quickly!! I've had 3-4 burnout even before I got the FC soldered onto the board. The Kiss FC hates heat, so when you are soldering on the board, get quick and very careful. Even extra heat into the board or having your soldering iron slip, you can de-solder components on the board. Of the 5 KISS V2 FC's, two are on quads are almost working. One is working fine, flies great. The other the FC's compass seems to be doubled. If I rotate the quad 180 degress, the FC shows it going 360 degrees in KISS FC v2. Two would NOT boot up once I had them on boards but once I de-soldered the wires from the board, the KISS FC started working again. I've also emailed the KISS people are have received a response to my questions or be willing to replace my fried FC's. I've also had many problems with the KISS ESC's frying out quickly, after a couple flights. I would say to stay away from the KISS stuff. The FC's and ESC's have had major problems and I've heard from most people who use KISS that over half of the KISS products break almost right away, often before you had even used them once. If you do buy KISS products, make sure to buy them from someone who will let you returned or exchange the KISS products that break or show up DOA.

@@JoshuaBardwell but what have you experienced? It seems to me it’s gotta be a subtle difference or we’d have a lot more kiss popularity? Maybe only better if you’re a super pilot?
The reason why you don’t get consistent results at soldering is because you’re using a very high temperature and heating the pad to melt the solder with isn’t actually the best way since the most efficient way of transferring the heat to any surface that you’re going to solder to is by touching the pad and the tip at the same time with the soldering wire. I usually get better results by using the methods listed above.
You can watch my 40 minute soldering tutorial if you want to know more about how I do it. I think you're referring to wetting the top with solder so heat transfers to the pad. I definitely do that. Waiting for a dry pad to take solder is a mistake.
About the suggested wire set from RDQ, if I had a dollar for every time I cussed manufacturers for vinyl coated wires, I could buy a top notch prebuilt JB quad. Get em for your sanity!

@@alexanderfedorov7890 right, but there is no universe where stepped or spiky motor commands makes anything smoother. If a quad is flying smooth, it is inspite of how KISS is sends motor commands, not because of it. That same quad will be as smooth or smoother on iNAV, Emu, BF or FalcoX.
Not sure how you got that from this video but whatever makes you happy. Even if he was right, Kiss Ultra doesn't fly anything like Kiss V2 that Steele flew.
Never used. Any shitty (not focused, multi interfaces, lacking ergonomics) interface is to be abandoned. That is why I never used beta flight. Any example of well done interface - check this for Eagle-Tree.
You just like it old looking. Eagle-Tree seems to also have tabs and panes. A black background with yellow sliders isn't all that different from gray. Also - why would you abandon excellent firmware because of how the *configurator* works? The time you spend in the configurator throughout a quad's life, versus flying and everything else, is surely about 1 to 500. You really shouldn't *not* use Kiss or Betaflight just because the config isn't to your liking. That's just stupid, man.

I'd love to learn how to do this exactly, is there any place I can get exact instructions on how to do that?
@@MrSabram07 all you need is a multimeter and put it on continuity and listen for the beeps when you touch the pads and stuff. i wouldnt do it personally. if all your stuff is where its supposed to be its not worth the effort. just youtube multimeter continuity testing
I'm still using my kiss v1.01 fc and 24amp escs, lol
Awesomely informative as they always are but I have one question I'm using a R12DS radio link receiver and I believe it is an S bus But I would like a confirmation on that
The RD12S seems to output SBUS on output number 11.
@@JoshuaBardwell
Thanks a lot man I've been using radio link the entire time I had FPV it's a little strange but I really enjoy it And it is super easy to bind things together
Can someone tell me WHY I would want to have KISS and the matching FC? Thank you!
Some people feel it flies way better.
@@JoshuaBardwell Thank you! So that would just come down to different mathematical models, calculation loop time and just some different software design choices? Is there any group or style of flying which it fits best? Like is it better for freestyle/racing etc.? Tank you again :)
@@YoYoYo G4 is not ULTRA. Different cpu, different code.
@@JoshuaBardwell but what have you experienced?
It seems to me it’s gotta be a subtle difference or we’d have a lot more kiss popularity? Maybe only better if you’re a super pilot?
Can i use this like on cinewhoop?
Welcome to the kiss ultra club Joshua :-) Alexander has done a very very good FC ! I am very lucky to hat one and its flys amazing. 😍 He has also build some 20x20 mini :-)
Yeah, mini came out so nice... I think its smallest 2020 fc right now. Well, sure smallest H7 ;)
Today on Joshua Bardwell, how to stack gold bricks 🤣
Thanks 🤗
Nah fam..how can you replace something commonly available for something unobtainable?
I dont know if you would be up for it or have the parts, but a full fettec g4 build with fettec esc set up especially the setting in the fettec configurator for the esc. Wtf is trapezoidal

Wating for the test/ Thanks
Joshua we alslo need to see GPS setup and how it reacts on GPS rescue mode as on failsafe too...
What to setup? solder gps to serial. set serial as GPS. assign RTH switch and [x] RTH on Failsafe. AND ITS DONE. ;)
Love the cable sets makes life so easy but some cables are so long that's a bit annoying I may just try my first kiss fc.
Ultra comes with 2 cables. 5cm each. JUST enough to connect practically any esc without spaghetty. :)
I have this FC since November and this is the guide I’ve been waiting for 🙏🏻👍🏻
Why is that?
@@alexanderfedorov7890 winter started, the weather got nasty, subzero C temperature, etc. no rush to finish this build. + I had some time to think which frame to buy for this FC :) this will be my second build; afraid to mess it up, and this guide looks very useful for me.

Ok so how do I turn no touch screen on my tx16s??
Sys - Global Functions - select "No Touch" on Func and assign a switch to it. I believe you'll need EdgeTX 2.6.0 though -- I'm currently running 2.5.0 and I don't have the "No Touch" option just yet.
Get a radio that's not a TV=P
It seems like similar steps to beta flight but what makes it daunting is it’s just new. I used to use old kiss gui with older builds. It worked. But I’ve grown fond of beta flight. Either way great content as usual.
I’m happy to see you in a Botgrinder shirt. I was a little bummed when I thought you guys weren’t boys anymore after the incident

Kiss ultra > g4 fettec?
$50 if you log A-B they are the same.

@@alexanderfedorov7890 thanks! Now the million dollar question where can I get one
Does it work on ibus? Please does it work on ibus?
Does any company sell BNF’s with Kiss set up on them?
Yes if you are rich. You can buy a steele apex for a grand upwards. Bargain.
@@richardheedfpv9626 Steele rubs me the wrong way. I can’t buy his merch. Maybe Catalyst Machine Works can hook me up. Thier stuff is actually worth the extra cost.
Being sarcastic mate. Ha. I agree. I have 3 merica and 2 slamnasty. Brilliant. I think they run BF but check. BF 4.3 is superb though.
I am very excited to see you on a episode of Linus Tech Tips. I know it's going to happen one day.
Black tape? White wires? This cannot be a JB build! Heresy! Looking forward to seeing the flight test, is it as good as the hype???
Why are we switching from betaflight now? I dont understand anything rn :D
Me, I doubt I am ever going to switch away completely, but it's still fun to try new things.
@@JoshuaBardwell You needed MORE on BF FOR SURE!!!!!!!!
Great video thank u.
Definitely gonna watch this soon as off work! Yes I'm ready and heard about this on rotor riot. Betafiight had got way to out there for people that just wanna fly. Gonna look into this switch! Firmware looks more user friendly! Not sure if you said is this same wiring for blheli-s esc to?
i dont recommend using blhelis... blheli32... dshot2400!
Betaflight is simple. Put 4.3 on it and fly mate.
Betafiight is good for if you want to get quad tuned perfectly in depth. Emu flight is simple! I'm digging this kiss option cause looks more easy settings! Don't want to spend all summer trying to figure out why's want to rip packs 😁
Well, all be back in 1-2 years 😅
No channel re-mapping?
How convenient!
Just flew with a kiss ultra. Had quite a few bf quads. It really is that smooth. Default tune and it flew better than all my emu or bf quads ever.
U should log the KISS motor commands one time. It is not smooth commands.
@@uavtech Its about FLYING... not about LOGS :)
"Big shot youtuber" lmaooooooo thanks for the video, as usual
Maybe I'll be ready to say goodbye to BF in 3 or 4 years when it might be possible to actually buy a KISS FC. 😆
Nothing flys better 👌
But what's actually good about KISS??
Some people like how it flies.
Pretty much plug and fly :)
I have 4 Ultras. They can be had but Not Cheap!
How much should it cost?

Is the title supposed to say "Ready"?
So Steele was right all along about Kiss being best 🤯
Not sure how you got that from this video but whatever makes you happy. Even if he was right, Kiss Ultra doesn't fly anything like Kiss V2 that Steele flew.
Wow a 30+ minutes of healthy sleep, thank you Joshua
Oh nice, learning to setup something that does not exist.. exciting... I guess
I preffer them to fly better. GUI is not important even if it's designed in MS Paing.
I love ET. Pity they are GONE.
I guess you need to turn Serial 6 to DJI/MSP
Miss spelling in title. ;)
I didn't know that powerpoint was so user friendly.
When it breaks you can go back to betaflight lol
But 4.3 on a RADIX is so freaking AMAZING!!
