Do not remove the center caps from the front! Remove the wheel skins completely and pop the caps off from the underside. Much easier! You will also scratch the caps and possibly the skins.
I removed my old skins yesterday and DID NOT remove the center dust caps. All I did was to remove the skins and turn them upside down and pop the center caps right off. When you try to pop the caps off like this video shows, you will scratch the living hell out of the caps and possibly the skins!
Saw him get some tape to pop off the center cap (or center piece as he calls it), aww good man, he's a pro! Then see how he puts the tape and gets a screw driver... 🤦🤦🤦😒 What a n00b!! And he scratches it too 🤦 Pro tip: use the tape to actually pop off the center cap! Duct tape works better as it grips better. Cut 10" of duct tape, tape half the center cap with one end of duct tape, fold the duct tape in two as to have a handle, tape the other end onto the center cap. Then in a quick motion yank on the duct tape pulling the center cap clean off the wheel. Thumbs up of you did this 😉

So you dont need to remove lug nuts? Just the center cap? I hust ordered some. Didnt think they just popped on but i hope they stay on and don't pop off.
Thank you for the video! Any suggestions on how to keep them clean. I just purchased some for a Malibu. I’m not sure what type of cleaner to use to keep them shiny.
I just use car wash soap, it's not hard to keep them clean. My only issue is they are very BRITTLE, so if you live in a cold area use caution, they can crack if you roll up on a curb or something.
Quick question. I got some wheel covers for my Camry off eBay. I just put them on without removing the little Toyota logo on the wheel before installing them. I didn't know until after I installed them and then I went to throw the box away and the instructions fell out instructing to remove the logo before installing them. Does it make a difference functionality wise? Am I safe or do I need to take the covers off, remove the Toyota emblem on each wheel, and reinstall the covers? Edit: I've driven a little around town with my wheel covers. No issues. But idk if I should/need to have that emblem placed on the wheel covers or if I should be fine/safe as is. The emblem cap is still on the actual wheel though. It's just not on top of the covers so I'm not sure if it really matters one way or another.
Well on mine the center caps kind of snapped in. I think you are ok though I had a 4 runner with no center caps. The only issue you might have is if the center caps make your skins sit proud of rims ( kind of bending it)

The link please and what size are those wheel skins?
What about rust? Do the wheel skins trap moisture in the long run?
Good question. The only issue I heard of was small rocks getting in there and making noise when they rattle around
How do you remove them
You basically have to gently pry them off without breaking the tabs. I’ve done it before but it takes a few minutes
So you dont need to remove lug nuts? Just the center cap? I hust ordered some. Didnt think they just popped on but i hope they stay on and don't pop off.
Correct on the lug nuts. They snap in really tight
How bad is brake dust buildup
For mine it was basically normal. There is plenty of breathing room.
