    Isn’t there a way to use the built in speakers and microphone to plug into the Packtalk?

    Hi , I'm so disappointed with these helmet manufacturers .... What were they thinking making their helmets compatible for only one model of intercom? I have a cardo unit and I want to buy a new helmet but it is so difficult . I don't want to buy a helmet that is made to fit a specific intercom , it is wrong and foolish... I also really need a helmet that seals really well around this visor. I Previously had a Shark Spartan Gt Carbon and even after adjusting the visor there still was cold air coming around the visor. I'm asking for your advice , thank you!

      Hi! It is understandably frustrating when manufacturers make their helmet specific to only one intercom system. While the pros are that you get an uninterrupted shell profile that will also help with safety and potentially noise, it's not so helpful if you already have a system.
      Some potential suggestions would be to take a look at the HJC RPHA range since, when road tested, we found the RPHA 70, RPHA 70 Carbon, and the RPHA 90S Carbon were very quiet under the 100dB mark. Even though some of HJC's helmets are listed as prepared for the 10B or 20B, they have still left it possible to use something like the Cardo Packtalk Bold. Other quiet sport-touring helmets with strong visor systems that should still be Cardo friendly are the Arai Profile-V, the AGV K6, or something like the Bell Star DLX.
      Thanks for the comment!
      What were your thoughts on the Schuberth?

      @@Championhelmets Thank you very much for replying and giving precious info!
      I hear everywhere about Schuberth that they are the quietest but the test doesn't show them as being that quiet. I'm still thinking about C4 Pro but fitting my jbl speakers over their integrated speakers does bug me.
      I'm curious what Bell Star Dlx noise level would be?
      Also , if the GT-Air2 rear vents cannot be closed , wouldn't that be a problem for cold weather riding? Even with a balaclava I expreienced cold discomfort when wearing a helmet that has fixed open rear vents .
      Thank you!

      @@MRR7 No problem! When we first tested the C4 Pro, it was indeed one of the quietest we've tested with 99dB, but we were surprised to find that when we tested the RPHA 90S Carbon, it came in even quieter at 97 dB.
      When we tested out the Bell Star DLX, we were pleasantly surprised to find that it clocked in at about 100-101 dB while showing a temperature difference of -1C to the outside, which was very good considering that it is so closely related to the Race Star Flex and allowed so much air to flow through. This means that for noise it is on par with the AGV K6 and Arai Profile-V, which are also well-respected helmets.

    dear oh dear.... almost bought the schuberth when i saw it had speakers built in, would be handy for a second helmet (as my £300 cardo came with spare clamp AND mic). why couldnt they have just used a 3.5mm standard jack to not lock out others? Now I'd have to waste more money.

    Hi, is it possible to safely remove built in speakers and mic without damaging it and eventually install it back again for eventual warranty purposes? I'm using interphone active and I'd love to keep my system for c4 pro. I know I could get c4 basic, but already ordered pro with huge discount, cheaper than basic version. If speakers definitely have to stay inside, is there any reasonable empty space where it could be stored? Thank you!

    I have installed the cardo packtalk bold in my Schubert C4 pro, and left the original speakers behind the liner. But I find this less than ideal. Is there a way to remove the original speakers, other than just cutting them off?

    • @Championhelmets
      @Championhelmets  4 роки тому +1

      Unfortunately, it is not possible to remove the original speakers without cutting them off or peeling back the cloth layer on the EPS. Fully removing the speakers would also mean that the warranty on the Schuberth would be void. Thanks for the question!
      How have you found the Schuberth so far?

    • @DeGroove
      @DeGroove 4 роки тому +4

      Champion Helmets Thanks for your response, I assumed that removing the speakers was not possible, too bad. So far I really like the C4, especially the exceptionally clear and wide visor. A little on the heavy side but the comfort makes up for that. Also like the cardo, so I will probably cut the original speakers out. Didn’t pay much more than the ‘basic’ price for the pro swipe, so no hard feelings 😀

      @@DeGroove No problem! It is a shame, especially considering that the C4 Pro comes with substantially more colors than the C4 Basic. However, the Schuberth is a great helmet and we also found it performed very well for comfort out on our road test.

    Hi, does the C4 basic also have the extended neck shield? I'm looking to install the original style cardo clamp not the glue plate as I have a boom microphone version which is more robust than the wired microphone. Will the clamp fit over/under the neck shield or are they the same on the c4 basic and c4 pro please? Thanks in advance.

    How does the Cardo Packtalk compare to the Sena 50R?

    • @Championhelmets
      @Championhelmets  4 роки тому

      Given the questions surrounding the 50R and 50S, we've had to put out a two part video on the topic. The first one (ua-cam.com/video/xtX6NEbidd4/v-deo.html) covers the specs of the two systems while the second one (ua-cam.com/video/jZox7xdabuY/v-deo.html) actually puts their speakers and battery to the test. Can you fit a sena 50r in this helmet?

    • @Championhelmets
      @Championhelmets  4 роки тому +1

      Yes, you can fit both the Sena 50R and 50S on the Schuberth C4 Pro. However, you will run into the same issues as when installing the Cardo Packtalk, so you will likely need to use the glue plate. One bonus of using the Sena system would be that it has incredibly small speakers (for the strength and quality of their sound), which will make fitting them very easy. Thanks for the question!

  • @nickald79
    @nickald79 3 роки тому +3

    Since I've bought my C4 pro I've been wandering what on earth they were thinking when they designed the helmet. Not only they limit the buyers options to the crappy Sena SC1 adv, but they never considered what would happen if you damage the speakers by accident like when removing the liner to wash them.
    I regret my decision to invest in a such an expensive helmet ever since and surely will never buy a Schuberth or any other brand that limits my option.
    Moving the speakers out of site to install other intercom speakers only works on spacy helmets. C4 pro is not, it fits tight as should be and the Sena speakers will put pressure on your head sooner or later (it's the first thing i tried with my packtalk slim). Installing another intercome without removing the pre-installed also adds additional weight on your helmet.

    • @Championhelmets
      @Championhelmets  3 роки тому +2

      Though Schuberth do have a longer history of doing this than most, the decision to make it compatible with a single system has proved controversial. We also recognize the speaker placement solution is not ideal, though the alternative of removing the speakers entirely will void the warranty, which is another facet to keep in mind.
      Thanks for the comment!
      Aside from the communication system issue, how have you found the helmet?

    • @nickald79
      @nickald79 3 роки тому +1

      @@Championhelmets I do understand the loyal costumers of Schuberth since the helmet is well made and looks and feels premium. The interior of the helmet is the best I've ever seen.
      The balance in high speed is very good and the ventilation works like a charm.
      Soundproofing is good but at least in my case there are some rattling noises which I can't locate the source of. Maybe the covers of the location for the intercom are vibrating in high speeds.
      Visibility is top notch and the visor locks firmly.
      As with every helmet but especially with Schuberth helmets, buyers should test ride the helmet before purchasing. The shape of the helmet is not for every head out there and though I can safely say that every L size helmet of the RPHA family will fit my head, I found that the L of the C3 pro is different than that of the previous generation of the C4 which in turn is different from the current generation of C4 pro's (I haven't tested the current C4 basic)

    • @Championhelmets
      @Championhelmets  3 роки тому +2

      When we took the C4 Pro we not only found it showed premium quality for the interior but ventilation and noise isolation as well.
      As far as head fits, there Schuberth have applied slight changes between C3 Pro, C4, and C4 Pro / C4 Basic generations, and though this is a highly personal aspect of helmet fitment, the C4 Basic should offer the same fit as the C4 Pro.

    how easy is it to remove the adhesive plate if needed, any chance of damaging the helmet

    • @Championhelmets
      @Championhelmets  3 роки тому +1

      There are a number of ways to safely remove the adhesive plate without damage. While there are a range of solutions online that even include dental floss, we've found the most effective method is by heating the adhesive with something like a hair dryer and then peeling it off once it is hot enough.
