I know I’m late to the party here, but I have to say I love your reactions man. I love your objectivity and how conscientious you are when you approach songs that you react to. Obviously it helps that most if not all of the songs you react to fall right in line with my taste in music, but I really dig your style outside of that. Keep up the great work! 🤘🏻🔥🙏🏻
Koe is an extremely odd character to describe, he has describes himself by saying “country is my favorite genre and I love to play country music but sometimes I just play whatever the f*** mood I am in”. He has a lot of Texas country hits but his last 2 songs have been very punk rockish. I also know that his last two songs were not planned as someone sent him a message on Twitter and said “hey koe can you drop a new song this quarantine is getting boring” he responded by saying “shit hell yeah give me 2 hours” and sure enough he dropped a very odd song but a banger for sure. There is a meme going around on Facebook here in Texas and it’s very true that says “koe be like: this song is about the time I got drunk fought a rabbit and lost my last cigarette in a poker game to a squirrel” most of it makes zero sense lol.
Koe puts one of the best live shows ever. Agree with other folks who said check out his albums on Spotify. He throws in own music festivals in Texas and 10K people show up. Wine Glass is a personal fav of mine that shows his older style and then it just evolves from there with every album.
T.J. Baggett I've seen him a couple times in Arkansas and it's been some of my favorite concerts I've been to. Literally everyone knew every word to his songs and it made the show electric
Koe is a Texas Country artist through and through. He does have a heavy influence of rock in his music though. To say anything is pop is just outlandish
Cross Canadian Ragweed, Whiskey Myers, Koe Wetzel are what happens when bands are free of the Nashville machine. You are right in all the fusions. It is their music, their way and to hell with you if you dont like it. They take from all genres. Country to blues to Southern rock.
Listen to this band out of Austin. It doesn't fit this channel but you should enjoy it. If you like watch the KEXP video. ua-cam.com/video/0G383538qzQ/v-deo.html
Koe actually referred to this song when he released it as a single his F*ck boy pop country song. But you can definitely tell there are a lot of Grunge/Nirvana influences with this track. As he’s quoted Nirvana was his inspiration for becoming an artist.
You gotta think too he wrote this during COVID where he can’t play/work like a lot of us and so who cares what day it is keep doing you screw. And actually I saw of a video of him doing the cues and “is sunday or is it Monday is actually the bridge. And the last two what sounds like verses he called out to go into chorus. Cue track is with the metronome click and a voice telling you v1, v2, bridge, chorus etc. for your unknowing viewers.
I don’t even know how to classify his music. It falls into a category with Pecos, Whiskey Myers, Cody Jinks. It’s a weird rock country mix. And it is truly a thing of magic!
You are pronouncing his name right. Koe is relatively new. He’s not your typical texas country star. He’s kinda rock and roll. Some of his songs sound more country. He kinda is a country post Malone as you stated. He definitely has a I don’t give a fuck attitude. That’s partly why so many people like him.
Austin - Koe Wetzel Pretty Heart - Parker McCollum Texas Kind of Way - Cody Johnson Dance the Night Away - Shane Smith and the Saints Koe Wetzel is not the biggest artist to come out of Texas anytime recently, CoJo has him eclipsed and Parker isn’t far behind Koe. Great stuff though buddy!
Koe is extremely dynamic. Even though he’s “Texas/Red Dirt Country”, he’s definitely in a class of his own. Just listen to some of his top songs from each of his albums and you’ll start to get a better idea of his style.
Koe isn't in any genre; my boy is in a league all on his own. He pissed off a lot of locals here in East Texas last year because of his 0-fuck attitude. The man puts on one hell of a show live.
Koe is his own genre but a lot of his music is heavily influenced by Cross Canadian Ragweed, a band that was huge in Red Dirt in the early 2000’s but broke up. They both do a lot of southern grunge rock
Koe is his own style man its a new version of southern rock mixed with Texas county this song and cuntry and wistern are odd songs tho all his others are more county style
REACT TO DRAKE WHITE- “Makin’ me look good again.” Morgan Wallen cover of “Cover me up.” Tyler Childers “Lady May”. Morgan Wallen “Chasin’ You” ZAC BROWN BAND “Colder Weather”
Koe is Texas country, do a video on any of his top listened to songs on Spotify It’ll be a lot clearer to you. His newest 2 are him having fun with his music and giving us (his fans) a little something to listen to in this weird time in the world since we can’t see him preform.
Koe used to be country. He and Parker McCollum are both starting to lean towards this pop/rock genre. It’s a shame cause their early albums were both great.
Genre: Country
Sub-Genre: Koe Fucking Wetzel
Koe is the best and AMAZING live!

A lot of texas country artist including myself look up to of course Waylon willie and hank and ragweed but also nirvana and blink-182
This is probably the best explanation I’ve ever heard as a long time Koe fan. Definitely should be his new bio on social media 😂
@@pepperholt9466 I always lose people when I put Waylon and blink in my top 5. Cool to know there’s another!
@@kevinroseberry5791 blink will forever be a jam dude!

I’m not a big fan of modern country but I feel he is Rock and some country and that’s what I like about to cat.
Koe is a Texas Country artist through and through. He does have a heavy influence of rock in his music though. To say anything is pop is just outlandish
koe is country grunge. he’s stated it multiple times

Koe signed with a major label
You should check out Austin Meade. He has several good songs and he just released a new version of "Happier Alone" Featuring Koe.
Koe actually referred to this song when he released it as a single his F*ck boy pop country song. But you can definitely tell there are a lot of Grunge/Nirvana influences with this track. As he’s quoted Nirvana was his inspiration for becoming an artist.

Koe has a cult followers down in Texas. i’m part of that cult
If you like koe, listen to his little buddy Kolby cooper.
Texas Country/pop country

Koe Wetzel - Love ft Parker is a really good one
I don't hate the Post Malone comp, but this comes across as almost a straight up grunge song. Malone is a big fan of grunge as well.
Austin - Koe Wetzel
Pretty Heart - Parker McCollum
Texas Kind of Way - Cody Johnson
Dance the Night Away - Shane Smith and the Saints
Koe Wetzel is not the biggest artist to come out of Texas anytime recently, CoJo has him eclipsed and Parker isn’t far behind Koe.

The cool thing about this music video is I have literally swam there (Lake Bob Sandlin)
Koe isn't in any genre; my boy is in a league all on his own. He pissed off a lot of locals here in East Texas last year because of his 0-fuck attitude. The man puts on one hell of a show live.
He’s just rock man... not country... he’s tried to say this so many times he’s fuckin rock 🤘🏾
Do Parker mcCollum
New age southern rock is how I think of him whatever it is it’s nice to have a change from the regular bullshit that’s on the radio
Check out his album Noise Complaint. React to a few songs off of there. Every song in that album is good!
Texas Music is the best music.
Koe wetzel doesn’t classify himself as country but more rock country
You need to listen to I-30 off Koe’s very very first EP
I've got you Buster! Leave it with me!
The 94 Club trust me you won’t regret it

React to some songs of his album Harold Saul high noise complaint that’s where it’s at
Texas country I think. Koe is kind of country rock.

Texas country
Hey to say it, but this is really the worst song of his for someone to listen to for the first time.
Koe used to be country. He and Parker McCollum are both starting to lean towards this pop/rock genre. It’s a shame cause their early albums were both great.
New style southern rock aint nothing pop about it lol
