- SIGH.... Today I tackle some wiring repair from the biggest dang rat ive ever seen that just happened to make home in my car and turn my wiring loom into the buffet. Video is a bit long, but I try to discuss and cover all aspects of this repair.

I had same issue in my previous car. Definitely look into you insurance policy as they cover stuff like this but don’t advertise it. What are you using to deter them?
@@JohnnStamos had it been extensive I would have went that route but thankfully it was just this. I put the lemon dish soap all around where I park, and placed bait

God dam thats a mess! I had to get a rodent deterrent device installed on my hyundai because of this so guess I'll need one installed on my new WRX asap 🥴

I repaired what was wrong as it wasn’t that extensive. Had it been real bad then yes

Full proof? Not that I know of. I laid lemon dish soap all around where I park ( was told by a ford service engineer that it helps ). Will also put bait out 😵
There is, My old hyundai dealership installed a device for a cool $500 that worked a treat. Sends off high frequency messages that piss them off and it changes the frequency every few days so they dont adapt. Worked great

Damn rat! Sorry you had to deal with that. On the bright side, maybe there is an opportunity for product development on mods to prevent rodents in WRXs.

Man I hope so, but here in the sticks where I live they come around from time to time. I’ve lived at this house for 10 years now and never had a rodent get in my car 🤣
