I honestly just want Postmodern Jukebox to do a 1920s cover of it, I mean it already sounds like a 20s song but I want to see what PMJ can do with it
@@HavaNDay The thing is, you'll probably be dissapointed, because the original is so well arranged and instrumented. PMJ's niche is digging out the musical potential in under-arranged songs - transferring them to an era where melody and harmonics were more pronounced.
I'd love to be disproven, but I suspect the best version they could aim for is "very similar to the original".
Yeah, it's probably gonna be like with Young and Beautiful in which it just sounds older, but it would still be interesting
I’m sure the cost of getting permission for the lyrics is astronomical. A friend of mine who is a history professor couldn’t even reproduce one verse of one song in an art she wrote without paying thousands. Needless to say the lyrics were not included. The surviving members of Queen are too busy making every dime they can off of Freddie Mercury’s talent and legacy to care about how great a PMJ cover would be.
The voice I needed today. Her tone, her everything is so perfect. I'm getting tired of the people who claim they're "jazz" singers and put on that fake indie type accent and force a vibrato. I can tell this woman is authentic and very very well trained.
I agree! I just get sick of all the Autotunes Disney voices that flood the airways nowadays. So nice to hear folks who can really sing. Makes me smile.

Come on. Every 2nd wannabe youtube artist goes "unexplored" paths. There is incredible power just within her voice and the instruments, so a bit more subtlety would have done the piece very good. This over the top, super extra is something for a competition to flex pumped up muscle, not do the song justice. It is a heartfelt empowerment song, not a diss track.

What's over the top and super extra about her vocal? If she has a very powerful voice, she certainly never opened the throttle. It could be argued that the second half of the song should sound more triumphant or joyful. Bruno Martinez has just written me an essay saying that Christina Aguilera makes the second half sound like that whereas this version is mournful. I thought it did sound heartfelt, and the jazzy flavour did not get in the way of the message as admittedly can often happen with jazz singers who get carried away by improvisation of the music, and forget the message. The more I listen to this, the more I like it. It's nonsense to suggest that it's a diss track. No-one else who disliked it suggested that it was a diss track. It's a sensitive treatment of a serious issue. You might feel she fails to hit the mark but it's definitely not diss.
@@gynack well, I didnt say its a diss track, but that she sings it like one. And with power i dont mean decibel, but tone that has the power to transmit the emotions. Like i said. But thats just my opinion.
The true beautiful one here is Scott for making all these amazing covers. We don't deserve these one-in-a-million gifts of music

a gritty crowded bar, a cheap freezing drink, a bit of swet in the foreheads and armpits, chit-chat in the background, but, in the most, everyone mesmerized by the piano man and his wonderful band and marvelous singers. Its my place-to-be.
This is what it's all about...jazz, not a fucking 5-star pretentious michelin steakhouse experience for the rich and the famous.

This is such a sweet arrangement. Compared to the original, I like how nobody here needed to get aggressive with the song and shove it in our faces. Getting aggressive and yelling at us all is how Christina Aguilera operates. But this gets the point across much better.
