Love finding your channel. I began playing guitar in March 2022 at the ripe young age of 28. I did start with lessons for a few months, and then I began using Paul Davids courses (Learn, Practice, Play and now I'm on Next Level Playing). Great courses to mix things up. Being a musician, your theory is probably spot on, but his courses would be great finger exercises for you! The callouses build quick. Consider mixing in some acoustic, for finger strength as well ! I played acoustic for a year straight before I even bought an electric. Great guitar also, Tele all the way!
That guitar is a beauty! The neck might need a little tweak. Looks like the low e is a little close to the edge and the high e is a little high which means you can loosen the screws the give it a good tug, hold it, and re-tighten.
Marty Music here on UA-cam is an excellent channel. Maybe not so heavy into the country stuff but he explains things really clearly and is easy to understand. Good luck on your journey!
One question - do your fingers hurt . . . I don't believe you mentioned it!! Hahahaha! I know what you're going through as I used to play guitar but I laid off for a while. Like 22 years!!! I remember most of the chords, my fingers are killing me, I have forgotten almost every song I ever learned, it's like my fingers are no longer connected to my brain, and I have totally forgotten how to strum and pick!!! Hahaha! But I'm having fun relearning this and actually it's coming back fairly quickly. All things considered.. Good luck to you. Giving you are extremely proficient musician, you may find guitar to be very very very, very frustrating!!!
@torontolarrivee7965 oh for sure it’s not a vintage piece. I’m sure he much less anybody else would’ve lent it to me, lol. I’m gonna text him and ask him what it is specifically.
👏 Well Done mate! 🎸
I picked up Guitar in my 40s, Justin guitar has been my main tutorial source and has served me very well. Wish you all the best on your journey!

Oh yea, my fingers definitely were not ready for those tiny strings.
Like your patient approach with a focus on accuracy and tone. What a nice tele to have as a loaner - what year?
Thanks so much, I’m really not sure. I’m sure I could look up the serial number and get a date.
@@midlifemusician-i1b Maybe it's a reissue because if it was an actual 50s tele your buddy would've impressed that upon you
