Al Pacino was the only person who was honestly trying to give a decent performance, and didn't phone it in. His reaction to the ridiculous commercial was the only time I laughed, and that happened at the very end.
This must never be seen
Its this and Gigli that makes him the saving grace of bad movies.
I laughed at a Swardson off handed remark the
"I'm not Jewish, but I'm close... I'm an Atheist"
@@chasehedges6775 Burn it.
@@scipioafricanus5871 ALL COPIES! Destroy Them
Here’s why I kept watching you as an early subscriber:
1. You’re cool
2. You know what you’re talking about
3. You’re gentlemanly
4. You do a good job with analysis
5. I enjoy your dry wit
Anyways, keep up the good work.
I would add only the broken Oscar joke, because Pacino's delivery on "you think it, but oddly enough I don't" reffering to him having only one Oscar seems so sincere from him.
Eugenio Derbez really went from Worst Picture to Best Picture in a literal decade
If it's a comfort for you - I really like the long pauses: The growing uneasyness, the amusing grin, the not-giving-a-shit twinkle in your eye XD
I'm one of those people who actually finds that funny as hell.
Why I kept watching as an early subscriber (Began watching your show since your Last Airbender Review more or les), is quite simple.
1: your jokes are funny
And
2: your style of review brings something to the table that I haven't seen in any other youtuber movie reviewer. Namely that on top of reviewing the movie, you also provide A LOT of background trivia about the film in question. Stuff like production issues, development hell and so on.
This is a good combination, and thus, despite the relatively "low budget" of your show (it has improved SUBSTANTIALLY since your very first Twilight Review, mind you, but its still relatively low production compared to say...... Nostalgia Critic), I still watch each episode gladly.
You're doing a good job man. Keep at it.
Most people start off bad. The first AVGN on Simon's Quest is awful compared to nowadays. You just have to figure out what you're doing.
Been watching sense then too
@@coolnerdlll6053 AVGN is a special case. James Rolfe made the Simon's Quest review with college buddies before UA-cam even existed (back in 2004), and it initially wasn't intended to be posted online. His second and third review were polished up and made in 2006. But everyone watching, and especially making, reviews on UA-cam knows how it works. If you're gonna post reviews, you gotta be honest about how it started.
“Why any of you early subscribers kept watching after all these years, I will never know.”
Because you’re a reviewer that doesn’t resort to cheap jokes or gimmicks like Doug Walker, and you don’t let your hatred for the movie override your critical thinking like MisAnthroPony. You were the first person that I watched for reviews of movies and when all the rest of them have come and gone from my respect/interest, you remain. You’re awesome, Sean. End of story.
Cheap Jokes? IT'S A TRAP!
@@JustinCoasters I don’t know what side you’re on, but Doug just got more lazy and hypocritical with his jokes and what he said he would and wouldn’t do. That, and he goes out of his way to antagonize people.
But perhaps his biggest sin involved Justin Carmichael. You know what I’m talking about.
You also forgot to mention that asshole MysteriousMrEnter.
.. actually I think you hit the nail on the head there, well done mate :P
Exactly
I swear Al Pacino knew this movie was going to suck so he just dove in head first with his role and had fun with it. And it worked because he was the only good part of this...I don't know what to call this.
Same thing with Jeremy Irons in Dungeons and Dragons(2000).
“LET THEIR BLOOD RAAAIIIN FROM THE SKY!”
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
A sh*tshow seems the most appropriate thing to call it.
A dumpster fire that has 1 highlight which is Al Pacino gives a performance that isn’t phoned in.
I’ve been a huge fan of your channel since I found your erogan review. I never cared about the “low budget” quality of the videos, I loved your high quality content! Your jokes never fail to land (even when I’ve seen the video multiple times), and there’s something oddly charming in watching how much you’ve grown as a reviewer.
I love rewatching your older content and look forward to every new video you put out! Thank you for so many years of laughs, and here’s to many more years to come!
Man, it's so crazy that I've been watching this channel since I was like 10 years old.
I am 21 now. How wild that this channel is still in my life after all these years
My brother in law introduced me to Dunkachino recently, and I legit thought it was an actual commercial it was that good?
Al Pacino deserved an Oscar nomination for that.
I first heard that Adam Sandler voice on that album "What the Hell Happened to Me." He played a mother who was trying to get his kids to play with themselves.
Ewwwww.
I’ll give Adam Sandler this….he did not go on some tyrade against critics for not liking this movie in the way Nick Swardson did with Bucky Larson.
Believe me he is use to critics not liking his movies,so he is an old pro
Bucky Larson, another Happy Maddison joint...😁
*Reads intro card*
How dare you call yourself annoying, Sean?! You're awesome!
I'm one second in.
I see the warning that precedes the video.
I instantly know I'm in for something good.

When you think carefully...if it wasn't for Netflix, Sandler would be making straight to VOD comedies.
No, I think they'd be theatrical
@@JustinCoasters No. Pixels was Critical and box Office flop in the U.S. It was his last theatrical feature. Then, he agreed to finance his Happy Madison productions with Netflix. Like, do you think Sony or Warner would finance Ridiculous six or Sandy Wexler or Murder Mystery? Sandler could be making those shitty comedies like Larry the cable guy,but Netflix supports his work. Both good and bad one. I don't think Meyerowitz and Uncut gems (Sandler's best films) would have got finance without Sandler's involvement
@@1997residente Where shall I start:
- Pixels made 244m on an 88-129m budget. How is that a Flop?
- Warner Bros. made Pan and Vacation; Ridiculous 6 or Murder Mystery would be steps up.
- Also it's called Ridiculous 6, Not Ridiculous 7
@@1997residente Either that or he would be voice acting in shitty direct to video animated films distributed by the Dove foundation like Rob Schneider is doing.
Then Sandler must be VERY scared of Netflix possibly going the way of the dinosaur and Blockbuster.
“Keep you on the toilet a little longer” that was a little too accurate as of the writing of this comment xD
I would just like to thank you for everything you have achieved, setting an example for smackheads everywhere! What you've done is truly astonishing, and should go to show that even though we all have our problems, we can persevere and make it in this world despite our smack habits or other cupboards in the skeletons!
We stayed subscribed cause you’re great at what you do. You’re funny, informative and relatable. Most of what you say in your reviews is what we are all thinking and it’s just super cathartic to watch. I’ll watch you as long as you keep your quality up.
I think Hangover Part 2 would be a more appropriate "Worst Sequel" winner.
I have a theory that Adam Sandler doesn’t like doing comedy movies, and the only reason he does these terrible comedies is because he actually wants to do dramas. Anyways, next time we’ll finally be looking at a film from the Twilight Saga.
From what I hear, he also does them simply to have a vacation
If he's doing the last of them, he's gonna have to do the same thing he did two reviews ago and talk about the entire film franchise as a retrospective
@@chasehedges6775 Probably also why he's able to rope in so many celebrities into this stuff - they get to have a well paid vacation with a nice guy (people have pretty much consistently said that in real life, Adam Sandler is a super nice person) and his friends, and considering how much effort is put into the movies, they probably also just knock out filming in a few days vs. the weeks of vacation they have afterwards.
@@youtube-kit9450 💯💯💯💯
i agree and i think he's aged out of his funny persona, which is fine. he can still be funny, but i think he should look toward serious roles more often. uncut gems is one of my favorite movies, i could watch it over and over (the weeknd being in it helps too). in that role he did inject humor, idk if it naturally came from the script or its just bc he is who is. he really seemed in his element.
Thank you for "Ell-Ay" and "5 is right out". Little things like that are why you're in my top 3 movie related channels.
10 years of watching you and your still a great critic I wish you got more attention you really deserve it!
Wait I love when arin hanson got mad that his name would be Al Dunkacchino and not Dunkacchino Pachino
I do not remember this. Point me to this.
2:06 Alec Guinness did play 8 characters in Kind Hearts And Coronets (1949) and one of them is female.
Also Peter Sellers in The Mouse That Roared.
@@crowtrobot17 and Peter Sellers in Dr Strangelove: Or How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Love The Bomb (1964).
@@kingamoeboid3887 But none in Strangelove were female.
@@crowtrobot17 that’s right but Sellers did play more than one character and played them incredibly well.
@@kingamoeboid3887 While that is true (Strangelove is one of my favorite movies), the conversation was about playing multiple characters including a female one, which Guinness did, as well as Sellers in Mouse. Sellers didn't in Strangelove, which was all I was pointing out.
Two more months, to see him tackle 43 movies.
And not a recap for once. Never get intimate with a robot
Wow its been 10 years since his first Jack and Jill review? I can't believe its been that long. Been a fan of this channel for longer than I thought lol
We’re here because you genuinely put effort into what you do. And it comes out fantastically.
ALSO;
Please be a guest star on Cinema Therapy. I’d love to see you doing deep dive filmmaking/character analysis with John and Alan
I wish the money that people spent on Adam Sandler being a twin could’ve gone towards this twin effect instead, this would be worth the money! It’s funny 😄
The Dunkaccino drink was actually introduced in 2000 and it was so good! I can’t believe they discontinued it 😢
We still have it in New England!! But they can make it for you, it's just half hot chocolate and half coffee
If only there was a way to combine refined sugars, fats, tap water and low grade coffee....hmmm
Don’t feel bad about the pauses in your reviews. I find them funny as your facial expressions are hilarious. I was definitely surprised that the Dunkaccino ad because a meme.
Sandler has explicitly stated that he's made movies as a way to take a paid vacation to different locations. This is one of those movies.
I've stayed subscribed this whole time because you're basically Nostalgia Critic if he actually critically analyzed the movie he was reviewing.
Al pachino razzie nomination was underserved he was the best part of the movie he gave a solid performance he is the only actor trying.
They were just attention seeking as usual.
4:30 “Wait, what the fuck?” 😂😂😂😂
We love the long pauses! They felt apt for the content being reviewed.
damn its been 10 years already since I've been watching the Smeghead...
first video I ever saw was the 3 Ninjas High Noon at Mega Mountain review...
keep up the good work
They gave Pacino the award because they saw the Godfather and felt betrayed. How could he sully the memory of The Godfather, Dog Day Afternoon his earlier films.
Critic Richard Roeper expressed the irony of Pacino being in the film. The guy starred in The godfather, considered the best film ever made and he called Jack and Jill the worst of all time!
(Imagine Orson Welles being in Bolero or Marlon Brando being in Battlefield earth)
I only started watching your videos a few months ago. I’m thoroughly entertained with everything you put out. Good work on making it 10+ years and here’s to many more!
Why did we early subscribers keep watching after all these years? It's simple: Because YOU, sir. Are FUCKING. HILARIOUS. The first review of yours I ever watched, I'm pretty sure was Home on the Range, and much like the Walt Disney animated canon, the reviews of yours I DON'T love can be counted on the fingers of one hand. So you keep right on doing what you're doing and, for the love of God, never change.
I will never get over how this and Skyrim came out on the same day.
(Reads description at the beginning of this video)
Dude! You have an amazing voice! I don't think I've heard a voice this funny since discovering this series!
Well, Sean, thanks for the podcast recommendation... it seems like a really fun one. However I think I started listening at the most awkward episode, where they brought a comedian who's also of native heritage to talk aboust Custer's Revenge and in the middle of the episode it became a very serious discussion about the guest feeling tokenized by being invited. It was so awkward I couldn't keep listening :O
Ngl that seems about right. I'm not a fan of the Breadtube and dirtbags left types for that reason.
This was released on my birthday, so thank you for the wonderful gift of a new video. you are the UA-cam channel i watch the most frequently now.
If you want to make a phone call from a ship, you're talking about the Inmarsat phone system. And that's expensive to use. (Unless you can use a cell phone from a ship, never been on a cruise ship).
I didn't get that reference sat the end.but somehow i know i should be glad for that.
I never really noticed the long pauses from earlier episodes
Well…. Once more unto the breach, my dear friends
Next June, Sean will make one final, FINAL, journey into Twilight.
We thought the long pauses were for dramatic effect...lol...😁 love your psychotic laugh at the end.....😂
The first episode of yours I saw was the Eragon one, so not the oldest, but I've been here for a while now. What's kept me watching after all these years is your unique sense of humour, and the way you do a great job of pairing clips and scenes from the film in question alongside the critique. You make it feel as though I'm watching the movie with you, even though it's a critique using small excerpts, and that's no small feat in my opinion. Here's to some more years of crappy films and excellent critiques!
I can tell you why I kept watching! I was 9 and didn't know any better. It's too late now though, I've been watching your content for more than half my life and I'm not gonna stop now.
4:14 - 4:37 *Mwahh !! Chef's Kiss !!* And to answer your 6:58 - 7:03... cause you're not Nostalgia Critic.
Sean? I grieve for you when you make it to Movie 43....
Early subscriber here, just wanted to say I’ve loved your videos all the way back to chicken little and will continue to watch your videos for many years to come
Its not 100% Adam Sandler's fault that most of the movies he starred in (like Jack & Jill for example) aren't great.
If you ever saw Nostalgia Critic's Top 11 Best Adam Sandler movies, he mentioned that he is a Mad Talented person.
His songs can be great, his unexpected delivery can get a huge laugh and not only he can be funny, he can be really good.
Plus, Adam Sandler still tried his best with what he was given depending on most of the Movies he starred in.
That goes double for Robin Williams because even he tried his very best with what he was given in his Career as an Actor like Adam Sandler, even if most of the movies he was in like Flubber and Patch Adams weren't good either.
Same. Adam Sandler is a talented guy. It's shame that he can't ever put that talent to good use tho.
He is great in a lot of things tho
not his fault ? Produced by, written by, starring in, Adam Sandler, not to mention his production
company, Happy Madison
Ah yes, cause Doug Walker's opinion's as the N.C on social media are 100% reliable. Walker is unironically entitled to them. N.C can forget it so we don't have to put up with it anymore.
@@GuardianGrarl Yeah I'm not regarding the guy who wrote/directed 'To Boldly Flee' and made that awful 'The Wall' review opinions very high.
@@jamesatkinsonja No disagreeing here from me.
The Smeghead Doppelganger is a YT milestone!
I can say I've been litstening/watching all these years because you do a fantastic blend of interesting trivia and comedy in your reviews. Besides maybe Deadmeat (who focuses more on summarizing horror movies) you talk about these awful movies while giving development stories and other odd trivia not many reviewers actually talk about, all the while being entertaining and straight to the point. Also legitimately nice to listen to as well.
I hate Just Go With It for being an atrocious remake of Cactus Flower. Though I will give it credit for Jennifer Aniston for a decent performance despite atrocious material.
To say this film never should've existed would also mean losing Al Pachino's Dunkaccino commercial, and I don't want to live in that timeline.
"Dead Ringers" had just as good (if not better) twin effects and that was back in 1988,
0:50 and Punch Drunk Love as well don’t forget about that one that’s my personal favorite of his with him being a legit good actor
I always thought Green Lantern was the worst film I ever saw in 2011, but now after rewatching Jack and Jill, I feel bad.
I'll never stop watching you.

I am in this time zone. Ships have sat radio!
5:10 Heh...the plot gag from Can't Stop the Music. How I missed that running gag
Hang on Sean, you forgot to mention the poorly aged cameos from both Johnny Depp and Jared Fogle... No I'm not kidding!
I also agree with you about the Dunkaccino bit, even when I first watched the movie in 6th grade (years before the meme originated) I knew it was the only good part of the movie. Thanks for your analysis!
Don't forget the cameo from Owen Benjamin.
I think everything out of this is poorly aged.

To the person who liked Liam's reply, you might wanna unlike it considering Liam is a Bill Cosby sympathizer.
@@toyland_f How do you know this?
For clarification I'm not the one who liked it.
No man should be forced to watch this movie twice. Even a decade apart
Seeing all that creativity from Dunkacino fans shows you who SHOULD be working in entertainment today!
Maybe this will come full circle and lead to its triumphant return to US Dunkin'!
Man, you are either very brave or foolish to rewatch this nightmare of a film again.
I keep watching your reviews because you are funny with your remarks about the flaws and jokes.
You give compliments for the strengths of the movie instead of only criticizing the flaws.
Also you give production issues, and other information about the movie.

I love your show!! So excited to see a new episode
I've been watching you since The Last Airbender review, absolutely no regrets, you are hilarious, hang in there Sean 😁
Why do I keep watching you?
Frankly, it's not some glammed up piece but there is a lot of effort put into it. No sponsor breaks, no selling out.
Also I think your takes are generally good. I like that you aren't afraid to get political but that these aren't just blatant propaganda.
"5 is right out!" Obscure Python reference, I'll stay subscribed.
We watch you because you are very good at what you do sir! You make me laugh! I like your sense of humor! I see your new video come up - and I click! Please know you are loved, and don’t question our loyalty! Your place in UA-cam has been well earned, and you should be PROUD!
Conversely, Eugenio Derbez was in CODA. That won the Oscar for Best Picture.
I’m shocked at how bad the cinematography and lighting looks in this movie, especially since the cinematographer is Dean Cundy, who did John carpenter’s halloween, who framed Roger rabbit and Jurassic park
That's just sad.
Like Sean said in his Leonard part 6 review “even the best will slum it once in awhile.

Oh thank goodness you stayed far away from showing movie clips this time(except dunkaccino), this review was actually bearable. Heck, I enjoyed watching this one.
And if the next one is what I think it is, I look forward to that one ^.^
Daily Dunkaccino is amazing, my favourite is one called 'Mulholland Dunk', which combines Mulholland Drive with Dunkaccino, a work of genius!

We keep watching because you're funny. Keep it up!
I know is not worth mention "Him", but is amazing how there's two thing that have age differently with this film. One super well (Dunkcaccino) one so horribly is insane (that guy from the sandwich restaurant)
You can still get the Dunkaccino in New England, USA. Its half hot chocolate and half coffee so really any Dunkin should be able to make it for you.
I wish Adam Sandler did more poignant films.

For some reason, I have a hankering for donuts now…..not sure why.
I enjoy that he makes it obvious he’s reviewing a Twilight sequel.
If the Razzies wanted to say that Jack and Jill was a remake/sequel/spin-off/rip-off of something, they could have said it was a spin-off of Happy Gilmore.
4:14 Somebody been snacking on Duplicatoranges? Smeg me, you really did do an uncanny job there, it's as great as when they did it in Back to the Future.
When you’re done with your Worst Picture Project, I’d like to see a review of The Master of Disguise.
The only scene in the movie that got me a good chuckle was the bodybuilder scene, when this huge guy is giving all he got to do curls with his personal trainer, and Jill comes in in her crying rant and just easily lifts all that weights in both Biceps AND triceps curls with an added pair of weights, and the bodybuilder and his coah are like "wtf!?" xD
So, I've never seen Jack and Jill, and never thought to look up the Dunkaccino clip, so other than the bit in reviews, not seen that either. However, if this has become the meme you say it is, Dunkin Donuts not selling it in the US, that's free money they're leaving on the table. Really, they should get to rereleasing it ASAP. As far as the next one, yeah, I did my normally Google early to see, but I've also seen your Twilight reviews enough times, hey, they make me laugh, to know the reference you did to that laugh the vampire does when seeing the child in Breaking Dawn Part 2, so it was a good enough of a hint this time to really catch on. 😉 And thank you, Sean.
