I sorta wish he was more beginner friendly like in 11 and x. His combo game is still nuts but I’m finding it harder to juggle and also no projectiles RIP.
Fun fact with the fatal blow is that you can cancel it and swing early and if you cancel it anytime after he touches his belt it’s still unblockable. So you don’t actually have to wait the full dance

I think Johnny has the best dashing. His dash cancel looks smooth and then on top of that you have the shadow dash

hello I am trying to learn two combos from the ones listed at the end of the video, does simple D mean dash? I am trying to chain two of them to have them in my arsenal but I don't get how to connect the dash part P.S using XBox controller. and also what are the recommendations for when I have HYPE what to execute? so the ones I am trying to do are:
"F1,2,4,D,F1,2,4,D,F1,2,BF4" and "2,1,2,D,2,1,2,D,2,1,BF4"

Jean Cage Van Damme is my main. He’s a very well balanced fighter. Clearing gaps with a shadow kick or dodging combos with shadow dash are big for me too. And his character in story has some of the best moments.
He’s a great choice!
Johnny is the first character I'e had fun with the stance switch button, most of the time I never used it in past NRS games.

Side tip, since everyone is getting wise to the full charge fatal blow being unblockable. You can cancel out of the dance animation by doing the shadow step/ dash move

Sheeeeesh u just opened my eyes to so much! Insane video. First character i tried and i love how simple and effective he is. Just needs a freaking projectile and one more overhead that doesn’t require a string in front. Subzero is the most op from what i see.

I can't seem to hit the 1,1,DB1 due to spacing but I can hit 1,DB1. Is there something I doing wrong? (also just for clarification, the combo string is going off but the nut punch whiffs after the second 1 input)

What do you push to cancel special moves in hyper mode?
You press the stance button (LT, L2)
Is it better to use D-Pad or stick on ps5 controller since i feel like one is better than the other in specific situations and i don’t know which is better
I used stick for years but know of many
People who used d pad. It’s honestly just personal preference and what feels better
How do you do his throw counter, when someone grabs you he can parry with a bar but it doesn’t show me how to do it

Can you make a video of how to counter Johnny cage? He is the character I lose to most and every time he pressures my block it feels like i can never get my turn back

What’s the show off move for? That move makes me lose the match every time. I’ll try do a shadow kick and Johnny does that stupid show off move and gives the other player the opportunity to do a full combo and take 90% of my health
The show off move builds the hype meter: once the hype meter is full you get access to hype abilities
Need help please I don't know how to build hype with Johnny with ball buster and rising star like I know how to with shadow kick by holding stance after but not for his ball buster and rising star I even tried to do it at the same time like to amplify it but nothing happens 😢
The timing is a bit weird and honestly just takes time 😌

Ya he’s got a few actually! His 212, and even his neutral kick (I think it’s 3?)

I just cant remember the combos .... i can play Sub Zero, Li Mei , Smoke . But Johny ? the longer combos are just problematic for me unfortunately .... Since i have my 3 mains i cant seem to learn another character , but maybe its because its too much for me to remember so many characters ? idk anymore its pretty frustrating
You got a some awesome choices though! I’d work on mastering the first 3 with a Kameo or two as well before moving on to a 4th character 😅

Why can’t I do the nut punch hype move?
The timing is really weird on that one. You gotta push stance right when you push 1 for the input
Idk how accurate this is, but I noticed I was getting it more consistent when I slightly delayed the stance input. Closest I can describe to the timing is with how you can get away with doing enhance moves by pressing block slightly earlier when inputting. For hype, its instead inputting stance slightly after. Glasses toss timing is close to around when cage starts to take off glasses. Nut punch timing is around as soon as the animation starts to drop. My window timing is long btw. Hope this helps.

Cage is probs the most fun char in the game but it's a shame that he needs to do an 11 hit combo for 25% and meanwhile chars like Liu Kang can do far more damage with far less hits
