Yeah man you can easily see the contrast between the PLA and RCA, especially during the 50-90’s you could see the uniforms were very heavily influenced by the soviets on the PLA side of things and the RCA’s uniforms were styled in a similar way to the American uniforms and their armament, equipment and body armor/webbing we’re similar to their respective Cold War partners. It tells one hell of a story

It's fascinating when you realize the Chinese military had used helmets from various nations: France (Adrian helmet), Britain (Brody Helmet), Germany (Stahlhelm), United States (M1 helmet) and even Imperial Japanese helmets (though it's worth pointing out that the Imperial Manchurian Army was an entirely different faction independent from the Chinese military).
Listening to it again for the music. Something both melancholy and grand about it at the same time. God rest the souls of all soldiers through time, many of them just kids doing their best.

I’m just going to say it, feel free to disagree as we’re all different. People from mainland China and people from Taiwan are the same. The only differences are political parties, and socioeconomic status. I mean, we even share the same ancestors for heck’s sake. I love China, it’s culture, history (yes, it was bloody, and some parts were shameful but almost every country has blood on their hands. It’s question of how much and how) and people but not the party. There’s a big difference. But you have to admit, the political party certainly have performed miracles feats whereas a democratic one would have a hard time to achieve. Remember, there are good and bad things to everything, it just depends on how you look at it. This is coming from a CBC (Canadian Born Chinese) who’s lived half his life, 10 years each, in China (Beijing) and in Canada (raised up in Vancouver, now in Ontario for university). I love all three countries, Canada, China and Taiwan. Let us make peace, not war, let us combine our strengths together and mould it into one. That is what I’m trying to do, combine the best things from the West and East together and make it my own. My life’s motto: Become the best potential you, that you can be. :D Remember, feel to disagree as we’re all different :D Have a good/night everyone!
Opinion from an Irish born Chinese teen, although I strongly believe Taiwan to be a part of China and the Taiwanese to be one of our own. You have to understand how the Taiwanese suffered throughout the years, native Taiwanese were discriminated and in some cases killed by the KMT during the White Terror period. Even after that they had to endure the constant fear of invasion from the PLA. I don't think something like independence for a flag and a name is worth a war, the status quo is fine as it is. But I can sympathize with their suffering and wanting to disassociate themselves from us, obviously I don't support it but I understand it and it's key to gaining peace for Taiwan and China.
Even if we were to unite, im sure we would argue over which flag to use; or we can create a new one but literally if either of us sees the other in public there is some tension
Very interesting to see the uniforms during the 1930s through 1950s, considering the fact that nationalist and communist forces had to make an uneasy alliance against the Japanese. One can tell which European power supplied which faction based on the style of uniform and weapon. It was also very interesting to see one of the more modern uniforms camouflage pattern for the RoC; it looks very similar to the Rhodesian brushstroke pattern.
It was not all selections during the 1930-1950. but no one can review it all completely,because China has so many native forces in this history, and they had different uniforms. By the way so many things disappeared in war, such as clothing food technic memory and so on.

我太爷爷，我爸爸的爷爷就是一名国军，参加了抗日战争的尾声，参加了国共内战，在渡江战役战役被俘，新中国建立后进入了解放军被拉到朝鲜参加了抗美援朝拿下了很多功劳，抗过日，参加过国军，后又加入了解放军，又参加了抗美援朝，立下了很多功，也算是一个传奇了。

我姥爷45年日本投降前夕参加了八路军，后来又参加解放军从东北一路打到两广，解放后转业到河南参加新中国建设。现在97岁高龄除了耳聋和白内障身体还不错。19年国庆还收到了国家颁给的证书和奖章。他给我讲过很多过去的故事，每次都听的我热泪盈眶。不管是共军和国军，都是有血有肉的中国军人，值得尊重。只不过现在岛上的国军已经不把自己当国军而一心当岛军了，实属可悲。

I’m just going to say it, feel free to disagree as we’re all different. People from mainland China and people from Taiwan are the same. The only differences are political parties, and socioeconomic status. I mean, we even share the same ancestors for heck’s sake. I love China, it’s culture, history (yes, it was bloody, and some parts were shameful but almost every country has blood on their hands. It’s question of how much and how) and people but not the party. There’s a big difference. But you have to admit, the political party certainly have performed miracles feats whereas a democratic one would have a hard time to achieve. Remember, there are good and bad things to everything, it just depends on how you look at it.
This is coming from a CBC (Canadian Born Chinese) who’s lived half his life, 10 years each, in China (Beijing) and in Canada (raised up in Vancouver, now in Ontario for university). I love all three countries, Canada, China and Taiwan. Let us make peace, not war, let us combine our strengths together and mould it into one. That is what I’m trying to do, combine the best things from the West and East together and make it my own.

Opinion from an Irish born Chinese teen, although I strongly believe Taiwan to be a part of China and the Taiwanese to be one of our own. You have to understand how the Taiwanese suffered throughout the years, native Taiwanese were discriminated and in some cases killed by the KMT during the White Terror period. Even after that they had to endure the constant fear of invasion from the PLA.
I don't think something like independence for a flag and a name is worth a war, the status quo is fine as it is. But I can sympathize with their suffering and wanting to disassociate themselves from us, obviously I don't support it but I understand it and it's key to gaining peace for Taiwan and China.

Very interesting to see the uniforms during the 1930s through 1950s, considering the fact that nationalist and communist forces had to make an uneasy alliance against the Japanese. One can tell which European power supplied which faction based on the style of uniform and weapon. It was also very interesting to see one of the more modern uniforms camouflage pattern for the RoC; it looks very similar to the Rhodesian brushstroke pattern.

影片的确很有意义，但说实话，影片中很多装备都错了，跟史实不同，先不说解放军，就以国军的驻印军跟内战时期的为例，
首先钢盔，美援m1钢盔二战期间大部份国军是会在左漆上青天白日，片段中看不清楚，另外因为缅北战场是42-45年年初期间，所以应该使用固定环下巴带环的m1钢盔，以及缝纫版的二战型下巴带而并不是美军韩战才开始用的m44型下巴带，严格来讲钢盔的颜色也错了，太像自卫队的od色。衣服应该使用英军的KD卡其制服，衣服太绿了。使用m1a1汤姆森也不太正确，1928会比较好，枪背带应该使用美式或英式背带。鞋带应该要跟英式绑法。春田1903a3在抗战期间仅少量配发过给远征军使用，之后也没有使用记录直至迁台之后拿到另一批美援a3，一战/a1版的春田跟m1917 enfield反而是比较多用来军援国军。使用大陆制的二战英美复刻品完全是败笔，细节比例、版型跟真品差太多。其他的军服也有不少细节有待改进。
