I love your post-Christmas new tradition, Elizabeth. What a wonderful way to enjoy Christmas after the whirlwind of the holiday. To relax and savor your decor and music. And just being together.
Thanks Donna! I wish we had thought to do it while Katie was home. We did have a really nice Christmas with her though. We watched the Walton's Homecoming the next night and now we are in the mood to watch more of the series.
I love pet cameos. A favorite thing is also sit with just the christ.as lightson and music softly playing. Decorations left up until Epiphany. I read a lot of cozy Christmas mysteries. They've all kind of melded together. LOL
My husband's grandfather passed away this year and when we were cleaning his house after his passing we found a bunch of great vintage vinyls including the Christmas albums from Goodyear!! I loved playing those this year and thinking of him and the Christmases they enjoyed with the same album ❤️
Catching Christmas was a pleasant surprise! I was prepared to hate it because an old lady matchmaker?? Ew!! But it wasn’t really about that and I loved it! The banter between her and the driver was hilarious!
What a nice tradition to begin, Elizabeth! And how lovely for the pets to enjoy it too! 😀 I put my Christmas up the weekend before thanksgiving this year-early for me but since thanksgiving was late it made more sense for my schedule. I took mine down January 4th-I tend to leave it up until epiphany weekend.
We would have taken ours down a week earlier, but left it up since we were having company. I really did enjoy just relaxing in the cozy environment a bit longer though.
It was so fun to see you mention Star Wars. I offered for my husband to choose a book for a prompt to let a friend choose a book...and he chose Star Wars, one.of the ones that has completely different characters than the movies, I think is how he described it.
I loved the Christmas table!! I didn’t love every book in the series as you may remember from my review I did last year of the whole series! I ranted and raved! My favorite of the books is Christmas hope though,
Love your Christmas chill with music. ❤ Our tree is still up too, probably because it is our first Christmas in our new home--feeling cozy. So glad you enjoyed AppleJacked! Many readers tell me they liked it better too. Sometime I'll tell you how it went from being book 1 to book 2 in the series! Take care!
Ha! I also did a Christmas reading roundup and TBR for next year. Just not ready to let it go yet. But now I’m done :) I’ve read some you’ve covered and put a few on my TBR. I like the blurb for Frozen Detective- looks good!
That sounds awesome. I look forward to watching it. I saw that you talked about Hiaasen in a recent video too. I need to watch that as well. I'm reading/rereading the Skink series (in order this time).
That was a lot of good books last month! I’m gonna have to find a copy of Miracle of 34th Street next year. My base library is really great about ordering inter library loans for me so I get can help me next year :)
That's awesome that your library can fill your requests. For awhile, our library stopped doing interlibrary loans. I don't know if they are doing them currently or not.
So I listened to the cd versions of the first 3 Angel books but I also followed along in the braille version!! And you know why you didn’t see enough angels?? Because they were abridged audio books! I read the next one in the series because it was on audible and it was unabridged! But I guess they shortened the books on cd and didn’t always give you everything!
Seriously!! I didn't not realize that they were abridged! Ugh! I also had not realized that the first few Blossom Street audiobooks were abridged until you pointed it out last year. I'm so disappointed about that.
I only really liked the teachers story in the Angel book. The rest of the guys were too cocky for my liking and I weirdly was rooting for the girl to get a part on broadway.
Agreed, I didn't think it was fair for him to expect her to give up her acting dream. I thought the teacher story was a little unrealistic. I come from a family of educators so I'm always wary of teacher stories.
I watched both movies before I read the book so I didn’t enjoy the book as much. If you watch the movie, you can believe he’s Santa! But if you read the book, you get his perspective and you see his mind working and scheming. Going missing to get Doris and Fred together? Not a fan! My hatred of matchmakers came in to it. And the way Susan got him in a trap. How am I gonna get this girl a house? I don’t know. I think I eould have liked it if we hadn’t been in Chris’s mind.

That sounds perfect!! I want to do more of that next year too.
😃📚
My husband's grandfather passed away this year and when we were cleaning his house after his passing we found a bunch of great vintage vinyls including the Christmas albums from Goodyear!! I loved playing those this year and thinking of him and the Christmases they enjoyed with the same album ❤️
Oh that's so nice that you kept them and played them. We really enjoyed listening to them again.
Catching Christmas was a pleasant surprise! I was prepared to hate it because an old lady matchmaker?? Ew!! But it wasn’t really about that and I loved it! The banter between her and the driver was hilarious!
I had heard lots of hype, which made me think I might not love it, but I really did.
I love the sound of your cozy evenings!
They were great! I want to do more of that next year!

I’m always excited to see a new video from you. You have to be my favorite booktuber. :) Great December wrap!
Oh my goodness!! What a sweet thing to say! Thank you so much!!

Oh that sounds great! What book will you be reading? I just started with the oldest ones, but I'd like to read as many as I can.
What a great December
Thanks Estherjane!

Yes, I remember! LOL! Christmas Hope was my favorite too.
I recently finished The Christmas Table. What a delightful, clever book!
I agree! I love that whole series, but I especially enjoyed the notes on the recipes and the mystery surrounding them.
Love your Christmas chill with music. ❤ Our tree is still up too, probably because it is our first Christmas in our new home--feeling cozy.

Great! I look forward to chatting with you again. Have you been to the new Book Shelter location yet?
Yes, several times. Can't stay away 😂
I am so glad you enjoyed the book. Glady's birthday is April 12. :) You had a wonderful December.
Thank you! I forgot to look it up before I turned on the camera!
@ it’s ok I got you :)

I also talk about Mary Engelbreit !
And It’s a wonderful life! And I’m judgy about it so apologies if u listen :)

@ I agree but it’s the kind of sappy where I can suspend my disbelief to enjoy it

Oooh, I totally never thought of it like that! I read the book first. The matchmaking was a bit over-the-top.
I grew up with the movies so was excited to read the book. But I just didn’t love it. The magic was gone and I sided with the nonbelievers of santa
