I kind of figured that you must have read it in print. I will revisit it at some point when I can take time to sit down with it. I read the original Thursday Murder Club in print and I think I enjoyed it more because of that.
You have a motivating list to start the year.. If I get into a slump with a mystery I skip ahead and read the end just to see if it is believable. If it's ridiculous I just drop it.
Yay! Hi Elizabeth!!!! :) I read...no wait...technically DNF'd Wicked by Gregory McGuire. I hadn't seen the show and the movie was not a thing at the time. I just really didn't like it. I remember at one point literally falling asleep while reading it haha. But good on you for sticking it out! That Veggietales series looks so fun and yet informative at the same time! So glad you and your daughter get to share it. Glad to hear you're enjoying Killer Karaoke, it and Cruise Control are both on my TBR for this month and the next month will be the next 2 and so on and so forth. Sounds like you had a great reading month! I also love that you start your year off with a Non-Fiction. It's a great idea!!! Happy Reading!!!
The Wicked movie is definitely better than the book, in my opinion. I'm still debating on whether to read book 2. We love Veggie Tales. They do good work! Killer Karaoke was good! Now I'm reading Suite Revenge.
I read Wicked back when it first came out and I didn’t understand the hype back then. It was just really weird. I can’t wait for the Little House Readathon!
@ I sure am! My loan for ‘these happy golden years’ just came in and I plan to read the last book sometime this year so next year, I can read some of the supplemental books you’ve recommended over the years. I’m gonna see if I can find the tv show on some streaming service.
I read Wicked and Son of a Witch back when the broadway tour of the show came to Dallas. I want to say 2008? I remember thinking they were odd. I did enjoy the broadway show a lot. I want to see the movie but I think I’m going to wait until closer to when the second one comes out. I’m hoping a local movie theater will be like do a double header and I could see both on the same day.
I think "odd" is a good word for the series. The movie was really good. I'm looking forward to the next one. I'm still trying to decide if I want to read Son of a Witch. I may give it a try, but I'm a little nervous about it.
The wicked book is not an accurate depiction of the movie or musical at all haha I did not like the book when I read it either and won’t continue. The second half of the movie will also be based on the musical so i think if you liked the first part you’ll like the second when it comes out 😊You’re having a great month so far! 💜
I’m also reading wicked. I just finished part one and geez!! It’s a lot! I’m tempted to stop and I’m not one who needs books to be squeaky clean! But I’m also curious as to how this book goes. I just got to Glinda’s section. I saw wicked when it was a play though so it’s interesting to see it making a comeback! I wanna see the movie but I’m waiting till it’s available to stream.
I'm glad that I saw the movie before starting the book. Apparently the movie is more like the Broadway show. The book was not what I was expecting. I'm still on the fence about continuing the series.
You and being a finisher lol. 🤪 I can't make myself read something if it makes me slumpy.
It has to really make me mad, then I will dnf.
😊
I read We Solve Murders in print... so much easier to follow than on audio. 😊

LOL! I don't think I could make myself do that.
I love Susan Branch!!!
Her work is beautiful!
I have read Wicked and didn't like it so didn't continue with the series.
Hope you enjoy the rest of your reading this month.
That is what I've heard from others. I'm still on the fence about reading the next book.

Yep, I agree! Weird and unexpected. On a lighter note, Little House Readathon announcement just went up today. Hope you are planning to join in.

I love how you and Emelie read together.
Sometimes she is in a better mood for it than others. She usually tolerates me though! LOL!

That is what I keep hearing. I'm looking forward to the second movie. I'm still debating with myself if I want to continue the book series.
I am one of the odd ones that tried to read Wicked when it first came out. DNF. Then I tried the movie. DNF. I just didn’t lick it for all the hype 😊❤
The movie differs a great deal from the book. I think it's more like the Broadway show.

@@lizziefayelovesbooksdid you finish it? I couldn’t. It’s too long and I wasn’t even enjoying it after a while
