I'm so glad I stumbled across this video.I have a lot of service calls for vmw washers, I've had to replace 3 hubs so far recently. Now that I know about this I will be replacing these as well.
Awesome!! They are a huuuuuge help thats for sure! We use them ourselves so we know how much of a pain the baskets are! Check em out here www.neuapplianceparts.com/products/basket-bushing
Cool product, there are so many VMWs out there that get scrapped due to parts being in an expensive assembly, I'm happy to see the aftermarket stepping up.
The splines on the agitator wash plate will rust/seize to the drive shaft. BIG PAIN. Too much force will either break the agitator, or pull the shaft out of the transmission. When it's that bad, I replace the agitator plate even if removed without damage. Sometimes have to be destructive to get the old plate out. Officially, Whirlpool (through Sears) has stated to use self taping screws through the top to give more leverage. HOT (boiling) water can help by breaking up corrosion. Alliance Appliances (SpeedQueen) has agitator removal tools that can also help. 254P4P are agitator hooks sold by Alliance.
Do you have a model number? We can confirm these work on the current flat impellers and the older model impellers with the raised "hump" in the middle. We havent checked on other models. There is a model list on our website of models we know it will work on. www.neuapplianceparts.com/products/basket-bushing
Do you mean the hub? These arent for the older whirlpool cabrio washers with the bearing built into the tub this is for the basket being wallowed out on the vmw style washers. Basically all the models with the hubs that screw into the basket

I'm confused about how this solves the retainer wear? When the retainer is worn, you once again have a floating basket.
