    I was born wit a heart murmur and I still have till this day I’m turning 18 In a few I am blessed to be alive thank god for keeping me on this earth for this long it’s hard to be happy when you can’t be active and do what you love most especially in time like this my anxiety is crazy and I wish I was healthier for these times

      Yes but heart murmurs are innocent most of the time. What caused your heart murmur?
      I've got a heart murmur (according to a quick check at hospital and then a more thorough check. They said its an innocent murmur. I'm 31 now.
      But I had my checks at 23 when I used to have severe anxiety and panic attacks symptoms so I would visit the emergency often. Eventually they managed to pick it up.
      Yes, we are all lucky, by the grace of God we are here, alive and healthy. But don't worry too much

      Why have you not had surgery to repair the murmur? I was 18 when I was going to join the military they sent me for my physical in Houston Texas and that's when they found out that I had a heart murmur that I was also born with. Needless to say I was not able to go into the military. At age 19 I had heart surgery repair done at John silly hospital in Galveston Texas by Dr Conti I believe he was the head of cardiologist at the time. This was many many years ago but anyways I am so glad I had the surgery done because like you said it is hard not having the energy to do the things you want to do but after having that surgery I have been fully energized and I am now almost 58 years old. After I had my surgery I was told I may need another one at age 50 but that has not happened yet thank God. I believe staying active is the key to a long healthy happy life. I wish you many blessings and I hope that you will find a good cardiologist that will do what needs to be done for you as well so that you can live a happy healthy joyful life.

    I always thought I had aortic stenosis per my childhood cardiologist, when people ask me about my heart murmur because it was so prominent. During my 3rd pregnancy with a echo of my heart (which I also had with my previous pregnancy) I found out I have a bicuspid aortic valve and coarctation of the aorta (it’s in the shape of an S). I am 29 years old and this was the first time hearing this.

    This was nice and succinct. Thank you. I would like to know what are the typical causes or aortic stenosis and mitral regurgitation? What investigation procedures are done to find out the causes of each problem?

  • @cher_sh
    @cher_sh 3 роки тому

    Great analogy of the Mitral Valve regurgitation. I most likely wouldn't be here had I not the surgery done last year by my Super Cardiologist. If I knew then what I found out during all the tests and procedures as Heart Catheter(100% good results), eks, in depth x-rays at the hospital and surgeons office, if I only knew that a heart murmur worsens over time from wear and tear throughout history of cardiovascular activities beyond my maximum, I would have stepped back and take more water breaks. I was born with a heart murmur. Sharp pains worsened over time. O thought nothing of it as I'd never seen a doctor for it as a newborn, school age, did not know it was associated with this condition called Murmur, Enlarged heart. My parents didn't know. Had I listened to my doctors in my latter years for advice far sooner, I'd probably be a few steps further from mitral valve replacement. It makes me cry, yet filled with joy that I didn't have an extreme heart attack that result in death. Drs mentioned that it was resolved just in time as any active movement could mean heart attack. Heart murmurs no joke, sudden death can occur at anytime is why it's important to visit a cardiologist for monitoring, the heart is a muscle and we're not getting any younger so cardiologists are here for a reason, don't wait until are aged. Exercise and good nutrition still stands tall in my life after open heart surgery. My Thoracic Surgery show much of The Father's Love and Care before and after the surgery, The Father work thru his hands. I thank Heaven for sending the doctors to my rescue at AdventHospital. I like the way the video guy explains the regurgitation part. My heart would stop, and restart, I had ongoing fast paced heartbeats, irregular, that even at rest, I felt like I ran a few miles and out of breath. I was asked by the Anesthesiologist if I approved of rbc transfusion. I said no, this came as I was hooked up to every machine as IVs ekgs etc. I said no, no transfusion. I couldn't think right away to say I prefer to donate to myself now, after many years of rbc and plasma donations for others, I preferred my own for transfusion. Can't go wrong with my own type. However, that's what the donations are there for. And it's a beautiful feeling to give. Thank Yah for my family. I went through the surgery with the humble successful hands of the Surgeon and Team by the Grace and Glory of (Yah)weh. Now I'm free. Hallelu(Yah)

    I like his way of explaining the mitral valve

  • @HobbyOrganist
    @HobbyOrganist 4 роки тому

    I had pneumonia and tachycardia 158bpm, in Feb, they treated both and the tachycardia with cardioversion once, and put me on Eliquis, metoprolol and amiodarone and it's been stable since around 55-60 bpm. The echocardio grams shows a mitral valve prolapse, which the report says Myxomatous degeneration mild anterior and posterior leaflet prolapse, moderate regurgitation grade 3+, left atrium severely dilated, tricuspid valve mild to moderate regurgitation grade 2+ PASP normal.
    I decided to inquire about valve repair, so the hospital cardiology referred me to a cardiologist surgeon in their bigger facility in another city, I go Aug 10th for a consultation.
    At 60, I'm thinking it's better to get this dealt with and fixed sooner than later since it can only get worse over time, and I have good insurance at work that may not be available to me in 5 years, also my deductable resets Jan 1st so whatever I can have done this year is better.
    I'm curious how this works with the surgery, I go for a consultation and I assume another echocardiogram then, and then do they just schedule surgery to do the repair or am I going to have to go multiple times for tests, scans and whatever?
    I'm wondering how long I would be in the ICU and hospital after, and then after going home how long I might be "laid up" unable to return to work?

    My doctor referred me to the cardiologist I had seen over 3yrs ago who told me heart murmur and recommended nothing for it. My doctor states she thinks she hears it a little louder and scheduled another appointment with cardiologist again as she suggested I take daily baby aspirin. I told her I didn't want to take anything and that I have had this murmur diagnosed when I was a teen and am still alive(turning 70yrs in 5 mos.) I am eating and drinking nutribullet juice with the pulp (per her request) and organic veggies and fruits as I eat some fish every 3 weeks or so, use virg olive oil, some coconut oil; all for over 4yrs. Any suggestions, please? She also sent me for appt to scan left breast which had been done over 3yrs ago; per most reputable cancer spec, she saw nothing there. This is stressful, planning to go keep appts. praying for no bad results.

      They can hear it with a stethoscope. It depends on how skilled they are.

    I was born with a heart murmur, I didn't start getting chest pains until the age of 8 and I just remember being in so much pain and I could barley breath because if I even tried to take breath I would feel a very sharp pain in my heart, it felt as if someone was stabbing a knife into my heart or as if I was having a heart attack. Does this typically happen if you have a heart murmur? I still get chest pain to this day, sometimes I go years without feeling the chest pain but then there are also weeks where I feel the sharp pain multiple times a day, is there any way to prevent these chest pains from occurring or anything that can cause them to happen more frequently?

      *I wish you the very best* 🙌😘🙌
