Always enjoy your videos, as I live in Honiton and fish the East Devon beaches covered in your blogs, I fish Branscombe quite regularly, congratulations on catching your cod from there-well done Go Steady. Derek
Derek Jefferson Thanks, I don't fish at Branscombe as much as I'd like too, It's mainly Budleigh and Sidmouth. I'll have to get down there a few more times over winter and go during the week when it's not so busy.
Good video mate...I would have to wear 8 layers of clothing to stand on a windy beach lol....I keep waiting for you to make a brew and a fry up....Well done...........
Great video sir.. Can you please talk or review the lantern you use for fishing.. I'm really interested in getting those lantern but i can't seem to choose the right one for winter fishing
shamim for winter fishing I use the Coleman Northstar, expensive at around £135 but well worth the money. For the summer months I use the Coleman Single Mantel at around £80, it says you can use unleaded fuel but that will clog them up and burn off harmful fumes, especially if your using it inside your beach shelter, lol. Always use clean fuel, either Coleman's Liquid Fuel or what I use which is Aspen 4 Blue, which is the cleanest petrol that you can use and at about £20 for 5 litres, search on google for your nearest supplier. If you use that you should have a trouble free lantern, been using mine for about 5 years now and just have to replace the mantle every now and then, just makes my beach fishing that bit more enjoyable with a lantern next to me humming away, keeping me warm and lightning up my beach shelter area.
I miss fishing that beach, used to fish it with my Dad. We fished it once on a very hot day but once night came. We bagged up on Small-Eyed. My best being 11lb 2oz and my Dad had a 13lb 6oz
Thanks for the videos. If you don't mind, what bait did you use to catch the cod ? Did not know you can catch cod from the beach in October so looking forward to trying soon.
Robert Paterson Thanks. I'll normally use fresh Lugworms and put 5 or 6 of them on a pennel rig, I also use Peeler crab either on it's own or as a combo bait with the lugworm.
Robert Paterson your obviously better off trying at Chesil or the Bristol Channel but you never know with Budleigh, a whole squid on it's own or wrapped in black lug has also worked for me too. 👍
NIce video mate and some nice species. You got a cracking channel keep the videos coming please
Jamie wills cheers, will do. 👍

Devon Lerfer Cheers Rich. They've finished the new rock defence down by the slipway, I'll see if it's ok to fish off and let you know 👍

nemesisslr Its a great beach to fish and as you've said, it does produce some big fish.
Haven't done any sea fishing yet. But feeling inspired! Not too far from you. Over the border in Somerset.
SheppeyFishTales Cheers. The ideal place if your from Somerset, Chesil beach to the south, the beaches around Minehead and the Seven Estuary.
@@TedGreenBeachFishing Yes. Would like to give minehead a go for sure.
