Hey Ola! I just wanted to congratulate you on everything that you accomplished until now. Playing in a band, making videos, being a business man, a father and everything else that you did. When i was young i had to make the same choice between my dream: music... and a more "safer" life choice.. in which i decided to take the 2nd one. I still rethink my decisions a lot, but i decided to do music as just a hobby for now. It just makes me happy to see you fulfill the dreams that i had and i am glad that you made it so far! Just listening to Pain of salvation now for the first time. Song meaningless, beautiful . Thanku and thanku Ola and the hauted for helping me thru some tuff times.
Hi Ola, what differs in your approach when you are choosing a guitar tone for recording versus a live performance ? I tend for live purposes to cut the bass and boost the mids a bit more to get through the live mix but I never get to a point where I'm satisfied and it doesn't sound too bright. Could you show us the difference on your end ? Thanks, will buy a solar guitar very soon, that Type S poplar burst looks sick !

Hey Ola, just in regards to the last question.....I think the success you have has been through good old fashioned hard work and having the fine talent you do for writing, playing and producing music doesn’t hurt either! I can’t see any evidence that this has changed you at all....if anything your vids etc, have gotten a lot better and you’re still the same guy you were when you started. The fact you are carving out a business through all of this, with merchandise and other things happening, is to be admired. Hey Ola, I'm a long time follower of you. I was enjoying your old videos as much as new ones. There was a great, fascinating atmosphere and sound in these videos (for example bkp juggernaut demo). Maybe -sometimes- it might be a good idea to bring back the "vintage (and shy) ola", really missing these atmosphere. I'm sure many people will appreciate it like me! Keep up the good work!
This video is old, but that Trespass riff is f**king awesome! Been playing it for the past 30 minutes, and can honestly say if I can only play one riff for the rest of my life it would be that.
Fan fretts are good for 8 strings but it took quite a while to get used to (if you do at all it's hard for me to go back and forth to regular guitars. I have found I just simply don't play the fanned fret one I got if there's regular guitar around) and I hate true temperament guitars I thought I'd like it after a while I still hated it

Ola! I love how positive you are even when getting sassy with silly internet plebs. My question is what was your first guitar rig ever? Mine was the BC Rich warlock through a digitech death metal into a random clean fender amp. Best...tone...ever....(not really)
I don't know if you where in Haunted when All against all came out but it's one of my favorite (fun) riffs to play (at my skill level :( ). The new stuff is great too but I can't seem to find time and courage to tackle it. Love you'r channel. Never change! Love from Serbia. P.S. My daughter loves you too.
I am very impressed by the Solar guitars. I intend to try one as soon as possible. FAQ → - As a former member of Six Feet Under, and having played Allen West's songs, what do you think of this guitarist and his compositions ? - Why do you sometimes put pieces of foam between your amp and the cabinet ? To protect the amp from vibration ?
Hey Ola! I reeaally love your sense of humor, it cracks me up every time I watch your FAQs. My question is: is that sense of humor a cultural thing in Sweden or is it all you? I really enjoy this sarcastic and almost arrogant persona in this series, its really fun. Thank you Ola and cheers from Chile.
Yoooo I love your channel and I’m actually getting the Solar V2.6 Halloween blood red guitar for Christmas! Love your content, keep up the fantastic work!!
The idea of pick slanting is that you angle your pick in such a way that the last note on a string moves your pick away from the guitar body to make transitioning to a new string easier. This means that the direction of your slant does not depend on the string you're heading to but rather on the number of notes picked on the string. If you start a string with a downstroke and pick the string an even number of times you will end on an upstroke meaning you will want to angle your pick downwards so that the upstroke gets your pick away from the guitar body instead of burying it between the strings. On the other hand, if you end your string on a downstroke you would want to angle your pick so that your downstrokes moves your pick away from the guitar body instead. It's all about holding your pick in such a way that when it's time to change strings, your pick is not trapped between strings in such a way that you will have to jump over them to get to the next one. A lot of people do this intuitively but some players actually write guitar lines in such a way that it fits one kind of slant, Yngwie being an example of this.

In September 2017 you ( The Haunted) played a show in Eskilstuna, Sweden. You released a video of you guys playing The Preachers of Death. You said you have the whole show recorded, but you never uploaded it, I think many people would want to see that whole show, is it possible that you will upload it? Awsome gig btw, I was in the front row, had nackspärr a whole week after! :)
Yo Ola. You know that go-to test riff you always play when you first try out a tone? Well, just wanted to say, I think I’ve heard it so much, that it’s now what I play when I first test my tone. I think this riff needs to be named. As it’s become a part of most of your videos. Thanks!
Hey Ola, can you please show the S1.6ETLBM Solar guitar in one one of your next videos, just too see true colors and some action of the guitar? Love your videos man, just keep 'em coming poppin out!
Hey Ohlah, have you ever thought about just doing an faq as purely negative Ola? Going to the dark side? Positivity is fine and all, but sometimes you gotta just let loose! Trap Metal would’ve been a perfect opportunity
Ola, gotta say I love your videos and how you do your gear reviews, to Metal musicians. There are tons of them where even though their using signature artist products of Metal musicians, they still play Jazz or Blues for the demo and reviews. Thank you for that. Unrelated: what do you think the chances of bringing the Haunted or yourself, stateside for a tour of some sort?
Hello Ola, without getting into the specifics, how did you approach in taking the steps of making your own guitar brand? Was being an artist for Washburn beneficial in making this happen? What kind of help did you need to make this all happen? Cheers

Which scales Are you using For them?(For example , feared-Live in you - satan and the haunted-spark)thank you For Being an inspiration for me and keep up your great work 😊
Hey Ola, do you have a favourite mode to play through on guitar? I find the modes are great for warming up (especially Ionian, personally). Apologies if you have already answered this one. Have a good one dude!
i actually really like that yellow guitar more than the lime one. not sayin that the lime one sucks, but that yellow there looks really nice in my opinion
Hi Ola, Awesome channel, can't wait for the Aussie tour next year. Any chance you can add an "upgrade to hardcase" option on Solar guitars? I really want to buy a S1.6 LTD but such an awesome guitar deserves a hard case, which doubles international postage. Stay awesome.
Hello from russia)Your advice about writing riffs with drum plugins helped me a lot, thank you)i love your videos, you have a good sense of humour)See you in Saint Petersburg some day
You mentioned dimarzio next time you pick up new stuff to try you should try a DiMarzio Air Norton in the bridge. I love you and your videos keep it up m8.
Greetings from Sin City! I am a long time subscriber and really enjoy your channel, especially 1st thing in the morning when I drink coffee with my wife. Thanks for all the rad videos, content and musical badassery! GNAR! \m/,
Ola, Please tell me more about the decibel meter your using in your videos. Btw.. your “Mel Gibson” bass tutorial has been one of favorites for years. Cheers from Macon Ga US
YESH!! so much Death stare i almost exploded with joy. And i figured out how you get your tone. I have to find a way to get a strand of your hair. It appears that infusing Scandinavian hair with your strings right above the pickups gives you that over the top sound......insert death stare ...
Hey Ola, Have you considered to incorporate electronic instruments in your Brilliant Metal Music? The foundation would be metal as usual, but synths, pads, samples, etc. could spice your music.
Using the low latency feature in Logic Pro X does NOT reduce the latency of a certain plugin. It only disables plugins that cause a preset latency value to be exceeded for the channel strip selected for live monitoring.
Hi Ola Quick question for you - is it better for us to stream your albums or buy them outright? I have a couple of Feared albums in my stream and I listen to them all the time - they are excellent!
Ola, Ola. Greetings from India ! Been following you since the time of "JamUp Bro 2.0" video. That's how I discovered you actually, good to see you come so far, more power to the Swede. Also, how would you compare bias fx to the fortin ?
Hello Ola, Have you ever heard a prog-jazz-metal-something band from Mexico called Parazit? If you have not done it, it's a good time to do it, they're great. Also the guitarist of that band, Jose Macario, is an endorsed artist by Stranberg, this guy has the only signature 9-string guitar that Ola Stranberg made for him. He was recently in Sweden giving some guitar clinics. A very talented boy.
Hey Ola! Been subscribed for a while, but only recently started watching on a day to day basis. I was wondering if you see value in learning songs by other musicians and bands as a means of improving your playing, or if you think exercises and writing are of more value to you now? Love the vids! Hoping to pick up a Solar in the near future!
Hey Ola, what do you think of Throwdown? Could you do a vid on how to get their guitar sound?... especially the Deathless and Holy Roller albums. Thanks
Hello Ola! Referring to lead guitar in metal music - what do you think is more important nowadays - speed or vibrato? Do you think the answer would have been different say, 20 years ago? Btw, your guitar tones are always super duper powerful and very metaal - thank you for the awesome content!
Hi Ola, what happen to all the Solar guitar prototypes? Do you keep them all? Sell them? Send them back to the shop? How does it work? Love your channel! Thanks!
Hi Ola, What are your thoughts on affordable amp attenuators? Do you have any recommendations on a particular model or brand on a budget for when your amp is too loud to drive all the way in your recording space? Thanks, and cheers from Pittsburgh. Love the new videos. Thanks for the awesome content.
Hey Ola! In the silent room video you mentioned about tinnitus. When did you get it and how do you manage it? When I read about it a year ago, I started to notice that sometime even my ears have ringing, freak me out for a day and made it hard to ignore.
dude i love you, legit Ola, im proud as hell of you dude, and for real, you help me alot with the recording tips and because of you i got the fortin nameless plug in.... still cant afford my dream guitar (fucking dying for a Solar in lime green/ red/ or that neon yellow, sadly i will never be able to afford one, especially since ive had to start over since losing all my guitar and vox equipment in a house fire last month, yes its been fucking terrible.) but you are one of the best parts of my day buddy, seriously, we are kindred spirits, and not too many ppl understand or have our sense of humor, but either way, your content and you as a person have a significant impact on my depression right now, god knows what id do. Thanks so much Ola. Oh and come get some fucking dinner ya goof. got you a plate, Happy goberkon (swedish??) day!!!
Hey Ola, Keep doing you. That's what got you where you are and you have a great product. It's always going to be hard for some people that are around from day 1 when you grow and change. On another topic, how do you feel about Mors Principium Est. ? Is it ok that they are from Finland? I figure you have probably crossed paths with them or at least Andy Gillion at least once.
I just finished your video for the Dimebag plugin and loved it, and that snakeskin Dean is seriously sexy. Can you possibly show off some of those wicked Dime models you have and maybe tell us how you got them? Cheers man
Hi Ola! Greetings from the Netherlands! I need your help. I’m in doubt between two pedals, the Friedman BE OD, or the Revv G3. Which pedal do you think I should get? Also love your popsicles 😉
Heyo, Ola! just caught up with ALL of your FAQ vids over the last week or so. Dig the evolution. What do you think about Witchcraft? The band. Although, I'd also appreciate your thoughts on the religion/mystical art as well.
Hey Ola, being the pantera nerd that you are and Dime's love of floyd roses you probably know a bit about floyd rose setups. I wondering about the springs in the back, mine came with 4 but ive seen other people with 3 and the middle spring going across diagonally. Will this make my floyd easier to use with less tension to push and pull against and setup in different tunings (mine's in standard e)? Thanks and keep up the work, your doing fine!
Hi OLA, can you check the "I/O Buffer Size" setting in the "Devices" tab of the preferences. It reports the round trip delay/latency , I don't think your round trip delay is 4 samples.
What did you use regarding pedals/plugins while showing off that sweet Warwick bass? It sounds like thunder sent from Thor himself! There must be some dist on it or something, so I'm interested in how you got the sound, since I got a bass recently and started playing, so I'm looking for some gear to make it roar... Skål dude, love your shit!
Hey Ola! Hey man Im a blues/rock guitar player who loves metal at heart. Is there any picking excersices that will help me increase my speed so I expand my playing into the metal world comfortably? Keep killing it! Paulie from Atlantic City!
What's up, Ola? I'm a newbie to The Haunted and I've been listening to 'Strength in Numbers' almost non-stop over the last week or so. AWESOME FREAKIN' album, man! I know you don't want to give away all your secrets, but what did you use to get that guitar tone? It's the tone I've been searching for my entire playing life! Kudos from Richmond, VA!!!
One of the funniest FAQ. I prefer the new videos that make laugh my ass off. And i love the Sony camera. Don’t you dare to throw it away. By the way. Could you make a FAB plug in tutorial about the selective frequency compression setting you showed in your video?
Hey Ola! I've been watching your videos for the last 6 months and wanted to thank you for bringing back my interest in playing the guitar again. I'm about to buy the Solar 2.7 red matte guitar and start playing again after 15 years. My son is four and picked the red one which i think looks pretty sweet too. I'm hoping playing around him will spark his interest. Plus your guitars seem solid enough that I can pass down in 5-7 years. Wondering if you can sign something when you see my order come through to include with it. My son loves UA-cam and would be pretty awesome for him. Also, is there any case included with the guitar when shipping? Ordering this upcoming week hopefully. Thanks!
Thanks for answering. Maybe it's different when you do a FAQ versus a gear review video. I'm hearing a lot of your unplugged guitar and picking with very quiet amplified sound behind it.

@@LAZARCAR98 The trap metal underground scene is the best, lets take goth for an example.
@@LAZARCAR98 listened those you mentioned, i'd say it's just rap with scream, didn't really notice any resemblance to metal, no live drums or guitar, only a macbook. But that's just my opinion. edit; im stupid... like you said. it's trapcore. but anyways...
@@LAZARCAR98 ehm... that's not Metal at all. Metal is another thing
i still want a live dvd/album from them, the records cant keep up with their live performances
Hey Ola
You remind me of Skwisgaar Skwigelf...especially how you talk...like your Videos👍🏻
Long time fan from the states, keep up the good work my friend!
Cheers
I went and seen At The Gates in calgary alberta canada on nov 16th, and got to see solar guitars in person for the first time. They're super slick looking ,I love the logo on the fretboard, and they sound AMAZING. Theyre such a killer band. Have you ever toured in Canada?? I want to get a solar guitar so bad. One day. Eskimo kiss...???!!

YOU GAVE MY SONG ADVICE ON GROWING HIS HAIR LONG. YOU WERE RIGHT IT DID LOOK LIKE CRAP FOR A LONG TIME, BUT HE HUNG IN THERE AND ITS LOOKING BETTER. YOURE SO HANDSOME I HOPE MY SON CAN LOOK AS GREAT AS YOU
do you still have any of your 'Strictly 7' guitars and Ibanez 8 string? Can you take us to your basement storage that you mentioned before in one of your video? Thanks for all the knowledge that you been sharing.
Hahahahaha.. the response to the last question is the most Ola thing ever! xD
1:04 - 1:07 One of the best moments in the FAQ series.
all i want is that beautiful music you write... any plans for next year about feared?
What is your routine when getting your videos out there, do you work to a specific formula? Do you set days when you to certain things, so that your content comes out on time.? Superb channel, really enjoy all your stuff, a new Solar will be my present to myself this year methinks! Also, did you ever record a song with that mikku pedal, I’m dying to hear what you can do with it!1111
Thanks alot Ola for the riff of the day! I was asking for this specific song in another video. Thanks again! \m/
Hola Ola.. Sorry. Seems to be the thing to say, haha. I gotta know- What happened to the Ass mouse pad you ordered?...
cmon ppl, upvote that guy really!
It got a new face in the FB group and since then it's been unclear what's going on with it... and very disturbing :D
Hi Ola ! I'm trying to understand your writing approach to your clean guitar parts in your songs but still i didn't get any idea about how you write them technically. how do you write your clean parts? Which scales Are you using For them?(For example , feared-Live in you - satan and the haunted-spark)thank you For Being an inspiration for me and keep up your great work 😊
Hey Ola, do you have a favourite mode to play through on guitar? I find the modes are great for warming up (especially Ionian, personally). Apologies if you have already answered this one. Have a good one dude!
i actually really like that yellow guitar more than the lime one. not sayin that the lime one sucks, but that yellow there looks really nice in my opinion
Reminds me of Ibanez
They're actually the same guitar, if you look at his decibel meter you'll see that the color of the counter has changed too.
@@heinrich5566 didn't notice that but I thought the color was changed through software cuase of the video
Hi Ola,
Awesome channel, can't wait for the Aussie tour next year.
Any chance you can add an "upgrade to hardcase" option on Solar guitars? I really want to buy a S1.6 LTD but such an awesome guitar deserves a hard case, which doubles international postage.
Stay awesome.
Hello from russia)Your advice about writing riffs with drum plugins helped me a lot, thank you)i love your videos, you have a good sense of humour)See you in Saint Petersburg some day
Ola, can you upload a video to get that sound on the bass? It's killer
This is commander Englund and this is the best channel on the Citadel
You mentioned dimarzio next time you pick up new stuff to try you should try a DiMarzio Air Norton in the bridge. I love you and your videos keep it up m8.
Being from Sweden, do you like Katatonia?
If so how about a coffee with Anders?
Yeah I like'em! Especially brave Murder Day, discouraged ones and tonight's decision
/Ola's big brother
Greetings from Sin City! I am a long time subscriber and really enjoy your channel, especially 1st thing in the morning when I drink coffee with my wife. We both enjoy your humor and wit and I really dig your gear reviews and recording tips. I would love to see you play live butt I’m wondering do you ever travel out as far as Las Vegas? Thanks for all the rad videos, content and musical badassery!
GNAR!
\m/,
Ola,
Please tell me more about the decibel meter your using in your videos.
Btw.. your “Mel Gibson” bass tutorial has been one of favorites for years.
Do you ever use fuzz and if you do, what do you use?
Using the low latency feature in Logic Pro X does NOT reduce the latency of a certain plugin. It only disables plugins that cause a preset latency value to be exceeded for the channel strip selected for live monitoring.
Hi Ola
Quick question for you - is it better for us to stream your albums or buy them outright?
Thanks!
Ola! Nice to see you giving Solar artist Vanguisher some love at their show! You a big fan of their Conan themed music!? Tack så mycket!!
Hi Ola,
What are your thoughts on affordable amp attenuators? Do you have any recommendations on a particular model or brand on a budget for when your amp is too loud to drive all the way in your recording space? Thanks, and cheers from Pittsburgh.
Love the new videos. Thanks for the awesome content.
Greetings ola! have you ever considered making a V shape solar guitar with a floyd rose? keep up the good work
Thanks Ola!! Love your videos. Have you ever gone to Iceland?
Hey Ola! In the silent room video you mentioned about tinnitus. When did you get it and how do you manage it? When I read about it a year ago, I started to notice that sometime even my ears have ringing, freak me out for a day and made it hard to ignore.
Beautiful e type !!!! Can't wait to get my own!!!!
Hi Ola!
I saw an older video of yours where you played a Laney IRT60H. What did you think of that amp, and Laney in general?
Thanks!
The comment about guys ripping off Rob Scallon cracked me up. So true. Ola hilarious as always.
dude i love you, legit Ola, im proud as hell of you dude, and for real, you help me alot with the recording tips and because of you i got the fortin nameless plug in.... still cant afford my dream guitar (fucking dying for a Solar in lime green/ red/ or that neon yellow, sadly i will never be able to afford one, especially since ive had to start over since losing all my guitar and vox equipment in a house fire last month, yes its been fucking terrible.) but you are one of the best parts of my day buddy, seriously, we are kindred spirits, and not too many ppl understand or have our sense of humor, but either way, your content and you as a person have a significant impact on my depression right now, god knows what id do. Thanks so much Ola. Oh and come get some fucking dinner ya goof. got you a plate, Happy goberkon (swedish??) day!!!
Hey Ola. Serious question. Have you listened to all of St. Anger and if so, what’s your favorite song from the album? Mine is Purify.
Ola, no love for the A2.6 Baritone? Lets see and hear it!
Heyo, Ola! just caught up with ALL of your FAQ vids over the last week or so. Dig the evolution. What do you think about Witchcraft? The band. Although, I'd also appreciate your thoughts on the religion/mystical art as well.
+1 for Fishman Pickups.
That's what they put on the new Charvel Satchel signature model and they sound fucking awesome.
Ola signature coffee mugs ??I'd definitely order one !🍵🎸
Thanks!
Tjena Ola. Are there any bands that aren't active anymore that you would like to see live? Mine is Pantera.
Don't listen to all the haters, you the man Ola. Man I would love to get my hands on one of those sexy Solar E2.6 guitars.
From a Canadian fan
Tjabba tjena hallå, Ola! What was you very first guitar, and do you still have it? Also, favorite Testament record? Keep up the great work!
Thanks for answering. Maybe it's different when you do a FAQ versus a gear review video. I'm hearing a lot of your unplugged guitar and picking with very quiet amplified sound behind it.
