    There is a skill that pro players have that sets them apart from everyone else...and no, it's not (just) their insane mechanics. In this video, I cover two ways to improve your play and rank up faster without needing to spend hundreds of hours in freeplay grinding flip resets.
    ━━━━━━━━━━━━━
    👋If you’re new to my channel, my name is Luke. I'm a peak Grand Champ 3 Rocket League coach. I’m also the founder and CEO at GrandChampBootcamp.com. It’s a coaching company.
    FULL DISCLOSURE
    I make content to make money - just - on a longer time horizon than most UA-camrs.
    I don't want to take cheap brand partnerships or sell you a $50 course... although I'm sure I could make more money if I did either of those things (and there's nothing wrong with people who go that route).
    Personally, I would rather give away all of my improvement secrets for free so we can find the best players out there and work with you 1-on-1 at grandchampbootcamp.com
    Given this is a YT channel, and anyone can claim anything, I’ll give you some stuff you can google to verify below.
    ⚽Rocket League Rank/RL Tracker: rocketleague.tracker.network/...
    How I got here…
    🔹12 yrs old: Started uploading minecraft videos at / @luke23mc
    🔹16 yrs old: Switched to uploading Fortnite videos on this channel. You can go to my uploads sort oldest to newest to see all of my old Fortnite videos
    🔹18 yrs old: Switched from Fortnite to Rocket League videos during Covid. I also began coaching players 1-on-1 on / spookluke
    🔹19 yrs old: Rocket League went free to play and my channel blew up. To keep up with the demand for coaching, started the Grand Champ Roadmap --a rocket league course business
    🔹20 yrs old: Developed company and continued to scale course business. Eventually, I dropped out of school to pursue UA-cam and the company full-time.
    🔹21 yrs old: Switched from selling courses to coaching only. Released all courses for free on www.skool.com/gcb-free/about. Transformed GCR into GCB. Doubled coaching duration, cut price in half. Seeing results improve and students happier was worth making less money.
    🔹22 yrs old: @Virge joined as director of coaching to further improve the coaching experience and help us make more free Rocket league content that is accessible to everyone.
    Today: Coaching is how we make our money - not youtube videos or courses.
    To all the people trying, failing, and hustling to make their dreams come true, we’re all in the middle of writing our own stories. Don't let other people, their opinions, or their stones bring you down.
    Do you,
    Luke

    In any competitive game you benefit from more vision. That includes shooters. If you only rely on the info directly in front of you, you won't be very good

  • @LxstAgain
    @LxstAgain Рік тому +23

    wouldn’t this be game sense? scanning the plays, predicting what’s gonna happen, watching all the players on the field, etc.
    great video either way, very informative!

    • @ColtsChannel
      @ColtsChannel Рік тому +2

      This vision he talks about here enables you to improve game sense. If someone talked about vision as a skill, then yes it could be synonymous with game sense. The emphasis here is not on calculating the best decision off of your information, but rather this video is about looking at something that isn't the ball for once.

    • @MrMagicBannana
      @MrMagicBannana 11 місяців тому

      Sorta, its processing information vs what you do with that information. Both game sense and "vision" just boil down to situational awareness.

      disagree. it was good, but now he just plays the youtube game of spamming content fast as possible, and the quality has nose dived, both in the information and the visual. I think its getting worse.
      Look at the edits. Sure the visuals and transitions are top notch, but half the time the b-roll shown on screen has NOTHING to do with what is being talked about.
      And what is being talked about is either a re-hash of older content , or worse is a direct contradiction to previous advise because he records so much he can't possibly remember what he said or find enough gameplay footage to support what's being said in time. There's even basic spelling mistakes creeping in for the GIANT letters on screen and mis-information about game mechanics/ physics. . how do you miss that stuff? by rushing everything.

    Very true, when I was struggling to breach champ a few seasons ago i started looking around simply for teammates who may be on the ball faster or have better angle before I'd blindly commit and that alone helped so much to lower double commits and make saves and shots, easily helped breach into champ and almost C2 at the time, but more important than the rank it really creates a much better team playing experience

    • @ironkb57
      @ironkb57 Рік тому +1

      Same. I was in Plat when stated doing the same.... now..... I'm still in Plat, but do not double commit that often

    Crazy that you released this video talking about something no one really talks about… I was literally just recently watching a Retals video, and it clicked for me during the video how much he uses his right stick to know exactly where other players are, so he can make a decision about where to land/how he should recover, for example.
    Granted, it was a 6 mans video so there were comms, but it just clicked for me how useful that is. It’s easy to forget to turn off ball cam in more situations than just going for boost or trying to catch and dribble.
    As you said, this does come with more play time and experience as you are more able to read what the ball is going to do earlier, but it is extremely helpful to start consciously thinking about it.
    W vid

    just watched half of the video but yeah, this is something extremely necessary, i learned it because i couldnt figure out how i got in situations where i couldnt hit the ball like i wanted for the case, so i fixed my positioning, then my ball reads, and then combined that with getting used to how opponents usually hit the ball, and this is all you need to start having vision, but what i want to point out is that this probably the most important thing to learn in the game, cause it makes build better ball and car control, and game sense as well, and even mechanichs just by understanding that vision-decision based gameplay, and as spook says there are tons of players that are not able to improve just because of this, so thanks for bringing this up

    As a KBM player I have no options to actively look around the field, but I've learned that you can change the camera swivel speed for when you toggle between Ball Cam and Player Cam, so I've slowed the swivel down so it's fast but not instantaneous. This not only makes the toggle less jarring, but now when I'm facing away from the ball - if I'm rotating / out of the play - I can toggle ball cam on / off quickly, which allows me to get a very wide view of the entire field and make much more informed decisions. This was something I picked up when I was still in plat, but I've been using it till this day.

    a lot of people still suck bcuz they have terrible camera settings and deadzone settings that make them whiff way too often and miss the ball settings are super important in RL find the settings ur most comfortable with to have full control of your car doesnt matter how much game sense u have ur settings needs to be good in order for you to play good and see around the field and be able to react to things having control mainly focuses on your deadzones and stiffness and swivel speed dont copy the pros ur not that guy find the sensitivities ur comfortable with thats not to fast and not to slow also use paddles playing rocket league otherwise dont even bother without them u have such a disadvantage against other controller players unless ur on KBM but even that is insane for rl lol

    I like it better when you showcase the situation better with drawings, related replays or freeplay etc. In this video, I'd have liked to see good and bad vision moments and how to avoid them in more specific way rather than using a vague language and background video. I find your videos entertaining nonetheless. Thanks!
