Thanks for watching Wu hatch out some chicks! Good luck in all of your spring hatching! Thanks to Magic Spoon for sponsoring today’s video, click my link www.magicspoon.com/whitehouse and use code WHITEHOUSE for $5 off your order!
My silkie hen Sally hatched out 9 of the 11 eggs she was sitting on, just a few days ago! 7 fluffy and colourful silkie chicks (one with white skin!) and 2 normal chickens. One of those looks like a penguin!😂♡
It’s bizarre to me that this channel isn’t as popular as other family channels. This is how I would actually see a family channel vs the facade of other family channels. This family is so genuine. It’s unreal and I am here for it.
I think that in order to get REALLY popular, the parents need to exploit their children for views. I feel that "White House" mainly view themselves as a "Homesteading/startup farming" channel, not a "Look how cute our family is!" channel. There kids aren't being recorded 24/7, there seem to be no videos on discipline issues, potty training, school problems, family conflicts kinda stuff. Those things get lots of views, but aren't healthy for the kids. I really prefer it this way!
Bantams are such great mothers. I swear our rooster went clunky once after his girlfriend passed away while sitting on their eggs. Cos she died 5 days b4 they hatched and he barely left the nest!
Wow. That amazing! DId the rooster end up hatching the eggs himself? I am sorry you lost your hen though. Did the chicks end up being okay? How lovely the rooster was smart enough to know what to do.
We just hatch 9 silkie babies from our magic fly incubator. We started with 14 eggs. First week, we had 1 quitter. 2nd week, we had 2 quitters. Hatch day came (day before Easter)and we woke up to 6 hatched babies in the incubator. As the day went on, 3 more hatched. 2 eggs didn’t make it. We have three mixed colors, 5 gray ones, and 1 little black one!!! Love the silkie babies!!! Congrats to you guys!!!!
Becky, you have an absolutely infectious smile. That thumbnail had me smiling before I even had the chance to watch the video. I needed that. Thank you for sharing your warm personality with us.
Our eggs that have been incubating lately have hatched! Unfortunately, only one chicken made it through. He was born really healthy though, and he grew even faster than our previous chickens!
I've just done a hatch and gotten poor results only three made it out of 11 sadly the rest for some reason did not hatch although they were pretty much fully developed 😔
@@shimasfaris2917 Glad you got three. Was it an incubator hatch? I found will mailed eggs I got a really low hatch rate (i could see the air cells burst inside them when I candled them after they arrived), but with 9 eggs freshly laid by our chickens (now we have a rooster) I'm looking forward to hopefully 7 of them hatching. Looking good one my last candling. fingers crossed. Hopefully you will have better luck next time.
Thank you for doing what you do. You are the the reason why I now own seven chicks and two ducklings. We are going to transition the ducklings into a coop soon. It is insane how fast they grow compared to the ducks!
Silkies are my favorite breed of chicken. They are friendly and if you spend time with them when they are little chicks, they will usually come when called and sit on your lap and let you pet them all day long. I always kept my Silkies separate from all my other birds. We had a Silkie that was a multitude of different colors, she was the most beautiful chicken I've ever had. Great video, thanks for sharing this.
Beautiful video: lovely children, lovely farm, lovely birds and animals. You all seem to get along famously. My Bp has dropped just watching the interactions. Thanks so much.
When Isaiah fed you a spoon of fruity cereal 😍😂 I love his reaction when he understood that it was funny. Reminds me of when my nephew was younger. He's turning 12 this year and I can't believe it!
We had one silkie that laid eggs. She laid them in the corner of the coop none of the chickens went to. She wouldn't sit in them. We had brooding boxes, but only one silkie rooster would go in them to sleep. That's it. I used an incubator on the eggs. Only one hatched... on day 23. I think we just had some screwed up silkies.
Hehe you telling the guinea fowl to be quiet is relatable. My school has (had? Idk, we're building a new coop so they're not at the school farm atm) a small flock of guinea fowl and they're so loud all the time. One time they escaped their coop and onto the field and we had to corral them back. I feel bad, they really need more space, space we don't have
That's so good to know that silkies like to brood a lot...I have 4 silkies and one of them started laying eggs last week...I really hope she broods on them soon!
We had our first natural hatch under our bantam cochin. It's so exciting to see. We're building a little silky flock for this very reason. Thank you for sharing the tips!
Super cute chucks Silkies incidentally from experience the fastest way to stop a broody hen from sitting all day is to cool her down they brood when they get hot. So pop her in a cage with no nesting material and raised on bricks to let the air flow all around her keep her shaded and free from other hens and the rain give her food and water allow the air to circulate around her especially under her leave her there and once her temperature drops usually a couple of days she will stop brooding and go back to eating and running about.
Those little chicks look really strong, healthy and sturdy. They were lifting their little legs really high to walk in the grass with no trouble or stumbling at all. Wily and Healthy Baby Silkies.
I just love all your videos! Thank you so much for sharing. We're inspired by your family and your farm. This year we introduced Turkeys, Ducks, pheasants with our chickens. Chuckers are coming and another variety of pheasants along with geese next. Keeping that husband busy building mobile coops :)
Silkies are the breed with the most "broody DNA"... I have 6 breeds right know, silkies are the ones that EVERY hen goes broody each year, some of them more than twice per year.. Amazing breed!
I have 2 silkies raising there shared babies. Now 2 more are setting together. I have another raising 3, 2 of them are RR. They'll hatch any eggs we give them. Which is good because were trying to hatch seabright eggs and they really don't go broody. Love your channel you have beautiful birds.
I love watching you guys, especially with your family and teaching your children about life on a farm! Would you guys make how-to videos on your nest boxes and favorite chickens? I love seeing them!
Imagine being that incubator hen! Chilling on some eggs while everyone is super proud of you, while you're the first to see the cutest things in the world! I'd sign up!
How fun. None of my chickens really go broody but I just had a turkey go broody and she is sitting on some chicken eggs right now. Shes been doing great im assuming they should start hatching here in the next week. Hoping I get a couple at least. Its definitely nest to see other bird take care of anothers babies. Love your videos. Take care you guys!
I was so excited to see this video. Our Silkies are sitting on eggs that are very close to hatching. This is our very first try for hatching from our chickens. We usually purchase babies during Chick Days at tractor supply 🐣🐣
When they said this is our rooster snowball it made me sad because this morning my silkie 4 months old was very sick and died and I’ve been trying to not think about it but that reminded me and it made me sad
Your family is just gorgeous and I love the peaceful energy you guys exude! Beckie you are absolutely beautiful inside and out. Wu is a CHAMP 🏆 as well! Keep up the amazing work!!
We had silkies and some other broody hens growing up. My mom would also take the Chick's away the first time the mama sat, and made her sit at least once more before she got to just raise the chicks. Always made me a bit sad to take them away. If you compare chick's raised by a good mama hen VS raised by humans, its pretty fascinating. I really like chickens!!
I have a hen setting on some eggs right now! And her eggs won’t hatch until the 20th of April this month!!! I’m really looking forward to looking at some fuzz balls running all over the yard!
God i have always liked the Silkies. Beautiful chickens they are! I agree that that one you showed last is gonna be a true blue/gray color silky baby and the one with stripes is interesting. Never saw one with stripes for a silky. Cannot wait to see how the little guy turns out
Thanks for watching Wu hatch out some chicks! Good luck in all of your spring hatching! Thanks to Magic Spoon for sponsoring today’s video, click my link www.magicspoon.com/whitehouse and use code WHITEHOUSE for $5 off your order!
Can we get an update video on the mandarin duck eggs

Great content!
Our chicken is not that broody and I don’t know if she will be broody this year but I have hatched some chicks with our incubator and they are cute ☺️
Hello Is it ok if you can send me silkeys pls
I LOVED how sweet it was when Isaiah lovingly touched Jake's face 2:12 and the look on his face in the cereal sharing scene. So darling!
My heart melted at that exact moment😂❤️
@@dylanaquino7517 So did Jake's, the young softie!
I’ll probably watch that over and over again
I know! I watched that several times. What Isiah emotionally observed, felt, & communicated even at such a young age was remarkable & beautiful.
@@whitehouseonthehill just one question what do u do if a broody hen steps on her chicks

That incubator is like a mansion for the tiny little chickens!
The little coop? Yep, all kinds of space for those little guys
Our eggs that have been incubating lately have hatched! Unfortunately, only one chicken made it through. He was born really healthy though, and he grew even faster than our previous chickens!
