Duuuuude. Nostalgia. Coming home from high school and grinding WotLK heroics. Nostalgia's a weird feeling. It's like happiness and sadness blended together.
There was about 500(?) of us waiting for the boat in Menethil Harbor last night. 10 minutes before launch we all started to receive the xp bar. *Hype* . The boat then came and we all hopped on it, it was so amazing. People were cheering and spamming AOE to troll people with crappy computers (as said by many of them) - a true classic experience. The boat then departed and got stuck moments later. People were /yelling TITANIC! ICEBERG AHEAD! After about 5 minutes of massive lulz, we groundhog day'd back to Menethil. After that, a GM hopped on the server and added a "Dockmaster" by the port but not before saying something hilarious in [Server] gold text (I forget, have the screenshots on other pc) but people were going wild! It was honestly such a nostalgic launch to WOTLK.
I was sadly not 70 when it launched (40) But I waved goodbye to all my homies leaving Stormwind! (I was there at launch in 08 so I'm ok missing this time).

Grass is a plant with narrow leaves growing from the base. A common kind of grass is used to cover the ground in a lawn and other places. Grass gets water from the roots in the ground. Grass is usually pigmented with the colour ‘green’. Grasses are monocotyledon, herbaceous plants. The grasses include the "grass", of the family Poaceae (also called Gramineae). Also sometimes it is used to include the sedges (Cyperaceae) and the rushes (Juncaceae). These three families are not closely related but belong to different clades in the order Poales. They are similar adaptations to a common life-style. The true grasses include cereals, bamboo and the grasses of lawns (turf) and grassland. Uses for graminoids include food (as grain, sprouted grain, shoots or rhizomes), drink (beer, whisky), pasture for livestock, thatching thatch, paper, fuel, clothing, insulation, construction, sports turf, basket weaving and many others. Many grasses are short, but some grasses, like bamboo can grow very tall. Plants from the grass family can grow in many places, even if they are very cold or very dry. Several other plants that look similar but are not members of the grass family are also sometimes called grass; these include rushes, reeds, papyrus, and water chestnut. Grasses are an important food for many animals, like deer, buffalo, cattle, mice, grasshoppers, caterpillars, and many other grazers. Unlike other plants, grasses grow from the bottom, so when animals eat grass they usually do not destroy the part that grows. Without grass, dirt can wash away into rivers (erosion). Graminoids include some of the most versatile plant life-forms. They became widespread toward the end of the Cretaceous. Fossilized dinosaur dung (coprolites) have been found containing grass phytoliths (silica stones inside grass leaves).[Grasses have adapted to conditions in lush rain forests, dry deserts, cold mountains and even intertidal habitats, and are now the most widespread plant type. Grass is a valuable source of food and energy for many animals.Lawn grass is often planted on sports fields and in the area around a building. Sometimes chemicals and water is used to help lawns to grow. People have used grasses for a long time. People eat parts of grasses. Corn, wheat, barley, oats, rice and millet are cereals, common grains whose seeds are used for food and to make alcohol such as beer. Sugar comes from sugar cane, which is also a plant in the grass family. People have grown grasses as food for farm animals for about 4,000 years. People use bamboo to build houses, fences, furniture and other things. Grass plants can also be used as fuel, to cover roofs, and to weave baskets. n English, the word "grass" appears in several phrases. For example: "The grass is always greener on the other side" means "people are never happy with what they have and want something else." "Don't let the grass grow under your feet" means "Do something". "A snake in the grass" is about a person that will not be honest and will trick others. Grass is sometimes used as a slang term for cannabis (also called pot, weed, or marijuana) The Grass type (Japanese: くさタイプ Grass type) is one of the eighteen types. Prior to changes in Generation IV, all damaging Grass-type moves were special, but they may now also be physical depending on the attack. Grass-type Pokémon are immune to Leech Seed. Grass-type Pokémon are immune to Leech Seed Starting in Generation VI, Grass-type Pokémon are immune to powder and spore moves and Effect Spore.Grass types are tied with Rock in having the most weaknesses out of all types with five. Since Generation I, a particular asset of Grass types is being the only type that is immune to Leech Seed. As of Generation VI, Grass-type Pokémon are also immune to powder and spore moves, such as Sleep Powder and Stun Spore. Additionally, Grass Pokémon are the only ones affected by Rototiller and Flower Shield. Those moves raise both attack stats or the physical Defense stat, respectively, when used. Forest's Curse adds the Grass type to the target's types. Grass-type attacks are resisted by seven types, so they're tied with Bug as the most resisted type. Those resistant types are best covered by Rock and Ground. As of Generation VI, Dark and Ghost have neutral matchups against every type that resists Grass. When Grassy Terrain is in the effect, the power of Grass-type moves is increased by 30% (50% prior to Generation VIII) if the user is on the ground. Contest properties In contests, Grass-type moves are typically Clever moves, but can also be any of the other four contest conditions. As of Generation VIII, there are 112 Grass-type Pokémon or 12.27% of all Pokémon (counting those that are Grass-type in at least one of their forms), making it the third most common type after Normal and before Flying. A Pokémon with Protean or Libero will become a Grass-type Pokémon if it uses a Grass-type move. A Pokémon with Color Change, Imposter, Mimicry, RKS System, or Multitype will become a Grass-type Pokémon if (respectively) it is hit with a Grass-type move, is sent out against a Grass-type opponent, if the terrain is grassy, if it is holding a Grass Memory, or if it is holding a Meadow Plate or Grassium Z. Since Generation VI, Grass-type Pokémon are also immune to Effect Spore.Only Grass-type Pokémon can have these Abilities. This does not include signature Abilities.Due to the decreased amount of types in the TCG, Grass generally adopts all Bug-type Pokémon under its typing. It also adopted Poison-type Pokémon prior to the Diamond & Pearl set, after which they were moved to Psychic. Similar to the games, Grass-type Pokémon in the TCG are generally weak to Fire and resist Water. Grass-type Pokémon are strong against Fighting and Water Pokémon, whilst Metal Pokémon resisted it until the EX Power Keepers expansion set. Generation V introduced the most Grass-type Pokémon of any generation, with 21 (including Rotom's Mow form), and Generation VI introduced the fewest Grass-type Pokémon, with nine. Generation I introduced the most Grass-type moves of any generation, with 10, and Generation II introduced the fewest Grass-type moves, with three. In the Japanese versions of the Generation I games and FireRed and LeafGreen, he mentions the Grass type itself, calling it the "Plant type" (Japanese: しょくぶつタイプ). Another reference to "plant Pokémon" (Japanese: しょくぶつポケモン) is made by Professor Oak in the Japanese Pokémon Red, Green, and Blue, and international Pokémon Red and Blue, classifying Bulbasaur as such when the player is about to choose it as their starter. This is also the case in the Japanese versions of Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen; in contrast, he calls it the "grass Pokémon" in the English versions. This same reference is also used in the first episode of Pokémon Origins. In multiple languages, such as French and German, the Grass type is translated as the Plant type. It is also the type that can utilize the most stones, having at least one Pokémon that can evolve via the Leaf Stone, Sun Stone, Water Stone, and Shiny Stone. The Grass type is the only type to have more than one HP-draining move, having five of them. Grass-type attacks deal doubly super-effective damage to the most Pokémon of all types. Grass-type attacks are super effective against the three types that Fire types are weak to. Fire is the only type that hasn't been paired with Grass. Classic Andy's that say retail has too much going on but get bored of classic in a couple weeks lol. Classic is NOT boring!! You just have to have JRE on a second monitor!!
The real reason to level up as fast you can is so you can take advantage of the superior gold farms that the game has for a few weeks after a launch. The potential to make gold is at its peak at a launch.
I started playing WoW for the first time in 2020 but not very long. I tried both classic and retail but only played for a little because new games came out and kept me away from WoW. I always heard that WOTLK was a really good expansion, so I decided to join a guild and grind my way to lvl 70. I gotta say, waiting for the boat to Northrend was one of the best experiences I ever had. Can't wait to check out the raids.
The only sad thing about this is that everyone knows exactly where to go and what to do, so they run around in one big pack rushing through it all. Back in the day we were all new players and we were experiencing it for the first time together. People would be reading the quest text and just enjoying the experience of learning and exploring

one of the things that made classic so good, was how the quest work and needing to group up and meet people and make friends, but there is no way in hell that is happing now. everyone is in a hurry and nobody talks to anyone, and if you do group up, right when its done you just leave. People are different now and some of the changes they made to retail are becoming more clear that longer i play classic LK
@@trixdream you didn't even think about doing those on your own. Part of it could be, I just wasn't any good back in vanilla, now I at least know how to play.
yeah with lvl 70 tbc gear you can pretty much speed run utgarde keep its literally the easiest and fastest dungeon in the expansion to farm. most wotlk quests give 20k exp or more being twice that of tbc also noting dungeon specific quests usually give a lot more but some dont realize you can literally go to all 8 major questing zones and still just make it to 80 without doing much dungeons and make a lot more gold and get good loot, some of the best early trinkets and stuff come from the quest lines. Also rep grinding in wotlk is really easy and really valuable. just doing the quests in zones as a human can get you revered in a lot of them by 80 and get a tabard for dungeons grinding it, there was no better place for rep grinds, professions and dailies than wotlk imo. Also challenging Alliance players to come to whitemane we need you.theres plenty of horde to kill.
There were just about 4 other people waiting for the boat with me lol. Ended up being an issue with the boats so after about 5 mins they put down npcs that would teleport you. Kinda messed with the experience but I'm glad they came up with a quick fix
Wotlk days were lit, before heading to high school I would wake up early to farm saronite ores and sell them in the AH just to be able to make the chopper mount
On Thekal the boat began to freeze when it was time to zone into Northrend, and kicked everyone out the game. People couldn't log into their characters because they dc'd during the phasing. Unstuck wasn't possible due to the overwhelming amount of support requests coming in at the same time. Couldn't play the game for the first hour :)
My brother went and started off in Borean Tundra while I went off to Howling Fjord back in the day. Best decision I made in this game, and honestly that huge wave of nostalgia hit me as soon as you all reached Valgarde.
just want to add I was world first on flying mount on launch. Did it by mistake got summoned to northrend from outland on my wyvern mount and stayed on it flew off and left my mates lmao one of them was so pissed.
I should go back… Wrath is where it all really began for me. I was just a little noob warrior just before the original Wrath release & was transformed into a holy priest by the end of it all. 😆
Started with Dwarf hunter in vanilla just like in the cinematic ad fell in love with the open world, but it was too much work. Blood DK was my favourite totally OP on self-heals saved a lot on pots and band aids and class spells that drove other players crazy in PvP in full gear until they nerfed it... than Frost for a while with spamming Obliterate running circles they only lasted 2 secs, next one... until the nerved that. Loved battle grounds.
I started playing WoW maybe a month or two before WLK came out. This was my fav expansion. So many memories and now...I know what the hell I'm doing LOL. So I am even more excited to be able to back for another run.
Asmon, perfect steak. get ribeye, salt and pepper each side let is sit at room temp for 20 min. cook each side for 4 min on med high, turn down heat add butter and garlic baste each side for one min let sit on plate for 4 min then eat. all of 15 min from time it enters the pan to you eating it.
blizz could of made prot warriors far more competitive in wrath if they made spell reflection have a magic damage reduction to spells that cant be reflected
I don’t know why Asmon makes leveling so stressful. Enjoy the beautiful zones! Read the interesting quests! Relive the WOTLK magic instead of mindlessly rushing to 80 for no good reason!
He's very confused. Says he wants to enjoy the content then proceeds to skip half of it and spend hours grinding in TBC dungeons. He's not really selling WoTLK very well.
didnt want to bother with classic this time around since blizzard is a fucking mess, thank you for posting your experience so I can still get a feel of it.
Asmongold missed out on so many content opportunities with this. He should've created a 25-man raiding group and quested together. That would've been so sick.
the nostalgia, WoTLK was so badass first time arriving with the boat as a Dwarf Hunter in "Vanilla WoTLK". and i liked this expansion the most of all expansion´s TBC and all the other sucked. but WoTLK is also the sad Expansion, it was then Blizz started to listen to all the 12yo kids whining about they could not get any Epic´s due to they sucked to much to be in a proper guild. so it also remember me of the start of the downfall.
I remember this day, the day before the swipers, the day when we assumed it would have been the same. In hindsight it was still fun, but it wasn't "it" chief.

couldn't have express my feelings better. God that we aged bois
So fucking true bro.. sad happy.
In Portugal we call it "Saudade"
It’s the love for what was, and the sadness for what isn’t anymore.
exactly, you're happy it happened and sad it's gone. I mean WOTLK obviously isn't gone but it's not the same feeling as in 2008 imo

I want to start playing again, but it’s been like 10 years. It all seems very daunting.
Do it! Just enjoy the journey and chill.
Don't
@@feo130 why not? I had a ton of fun doing pvp.
It's not as daunting as it looks when you get into it, have fun and just enjoy the experience man!
Its in 144p so you guys feel the actual classic experience.
It really gives the %100 experience. Thanks ma dude.
Feels man...It's 2008 again. As soon as the new computer comes in later this week, I'm in.
My brother went and started off in Borean Tundra while I went off to Howling Fjord back in the day. Best decision I made in this game, and honestly that huge wave of nostalgia hit me as soon as you all reached Valgarde.
Someone on horde on my server got 80 this morning already. Like 14 hrs. Crazy
I saw the world first fishing450 last night too. People don’t play around
The que times are actually a blessing in disguise because it forces me to study before playing.
Howling Fjord, best zone ever.
WoTLK is literally the greatest MMO ever created. There will never be another MMO like Wrath.
true and real
@@feo130 another negative nancy that can't enjoy anything. Crawl back in your hole.
@@feo130TBC and vanilla put together don't hold a candle to wrath
@@truepatrician4700 All three don't hold a candle to WoD
@@feo130 i dont think thats true. Cata/mop was "retail" start
9:39....I feel like blizzard does good with launches.
I'm watching this video the day after the Overwatch 2 release LOL
aged like milk
I was thinking about a new timeline too. That would be awesome.
*boat crashes* you log back in. you're level 1 in exiles reach
just want to add I was world first on flying mount on launch. Did it by mistake got summoned to northrend from outland on my wyvern mount and stayed on it flew off and left my mates lmao one of them was so pissed.
I will make sure you don't go broke. Dude Set!
I should go back… Wrath is where it all really began for me. I was just a little noob warrior just before the original Wrath release & was transformed into a holy priest by the end of it all. 😆
I think at 1:43:42 all of our hearts dropped a lil
imagine paying box price, monthly sub and 40-90 usd per DLC for a game that has early 2000s graphics and lags when 10 people are in one place
The only problem with Borean Tundra is that it's not Howling Fjord.
just back in game after 16 years, dunno to push through classic or retail
Love how he goes from ill just dungeon grind to 74 to be bored after 2 runs, expecting like half a bar of xp almost
LoL, Mago Richard's horde guild members (EPICO) was already trying to gank in Fjord since the very begining lol
Horde Skyfury HF Zepp was packed too, 7 minutes early as well seamless. Remember when cata and mop classic were jokes?
I started playing WoW maybe a month or two before WLK came out. This was my fav expansion. So many memories and now...I know what the hell I'm doing LOL. So I am even more excited to be able to back for another run.
Why Mcconell isnt talking/playing so often with asmon like before??
"Im gonna steal your poop"
That was the highlight of this vid.
Man this shit is so nostalgic. I wanna play but it's such a time commitment.
The nostalgia is killing me, but I will wait for the next classic cycle to relive all this.
By that point it will be on mobile, im down with that haha.
No God please no!!
Man, running out the dungeon, the good old days. Well, I did got used to Dungeon finder. They should add it. xD
I don’t know why Asmon makes leveling so stressful. Enjoy the beautiful zones! Read the interesting quests! Relive the WOTLK magic instead of mindlessly rushing to 80 for no good reason!
Its impossible to quest on day 1 so he is skipping ahead to the second zone.
He's very confused. Says he wants to enjoy the content then proceeds to skip half of it and spend hours grinding in TBC dungeons. He's not really selling WoTLK very well.
i watched the matrix the other day and asmon looks like the train guy.
Asmongold does dungeons as soon as he starts also asmongold: I hate dungeon finder and raid finder.
WotLK with the raiding guild back in the day. Was the last great expansion and really should have ended there.
didnt want to bother with classic this time around since blizzard is a fucking mess, thank you for posting your experience so I can still get a feel of it.
Balthaxar welcome to the black book of asmongold
the idea with the Lich King winning would be so sick
I only recently started playing wow but ive watched asmongold since 2017. Best streamer on twitch.
You start near Grizzly Hills (one of yours favourite area) 😉
I’m 14 and this is my first time playing weather so I’m pretty excited
Welp. Missed wotlk launch for the 2nd time.
Cata was my prime
🥲I'm crying.
Good times.
Thank you!
That boat ride is the endgame boss.
I have been playing World Of Warcraft solo from its launch ..
On my realm the boat was stuck at the area just before loading screen and 30min later they made a portal to northrend bc boat broke
If you’re reading this, I hope you enjoy classic and are having a healthy, happy day
Man I missed the relaxed and slowed down combat of early WoW
God I fkin love the music from the expansion. Especially around this area.
Actually very fast leveling, way closer to top speed than to avg
Good video! Hey could do a video about ur addons, UI, talents, macros, rotations for warrior?
Why didn't they go for TLPD? It should be spawned since no one killed it before.
the music. Gods the music.
We were all that guy that fell off the boat
The flight masters in northrend about to get rich
Nice Quality
And so it begins
You definitely could have done heroics the minute you arrived to Northrend. WOTLK is fun but super easy
professor akali has a first blood power spike
Well that's all he's good at... leveling and getting carries once max level is hit
did you had to buy all games two times now?
How are you doing so much damage to the strengths of those monsters?
Dude Set!
The Podcast
Great video mate :D
Anyone have a link to Asmon's prot talent spec? He makes it look so fun
damn, that not how it worked for my guild on eu, we all got dc'd and basically locked out for a few hr's. we did go to boring thundra tho
Nice quality bro.. ..
The sigh of “what an idiot that guy fell off “ coming back to haunt him lol
I remember this day, the day before the swipers, the day when we assumed it would have been the same. In hindsight it was still fun, but it wasn't "it" chief.
you really need to use threat plates holy shit lol
Asmons armor looks like a raid boss in this shit
