I too was hoping to meet comedy, music hall, & train sushi correspondent Jonathan Goodenough in Liverpool. I was severely disappointed: all we got was some dodgy Tory MP with a lettuce fetish & some guy who thought he was a comedian.
Still, it was nice to get out of North Wales.

Jonathan Goodenough should have his own TV chat show on GB News: bring some professionalism to it, for the 13 people and their cats who regularly watch that channel. Oh, but I forgot: only current Tory MPs are permitted to have chat shows on GB News.
Although it was a cluster by Labour in the interim, if only those of similar objectionable behaviour in other parties were censured within 48 hrs then they could crow all day long. Shh about the tea Matt, of course it won't affect the non-stimulant varieties, cos they come from Decaffeinaria.
The best bit about the box was when Sunak tried to fall back on his strongest subject, the economy :D

It's doubtful you can be racist against a faith. Lots of Jewish people do not have a faith (unless you consider atheism to be a faith). That would be called anti_Judaism.

Thanks Matt. Not being funny, but did people think that when Starmer said he was cracking down on antisemitism he was going to introduce mandatory mind probes? The Rochdale candidate was found to have said some very stupid things and in a short (but not quite short enough) time, Labour disowned him. Apart from being a bit quicker, what else was Starmer supposed to do? Also not the only party to have had this happen in the last couple of years.
Problem is we haven't seen any antisemitism. We've seen criticism of Israel, but not antisemitism any more than criticising the Tories is anti-Christian.
@@oxymoron02 If someone says that Israel is committing war crimes, or has responded to the Oct 7th attacks in a way that is far from proportionate or legal under international law, that's criticism of Israel. If someone basically says "Yeah, they probably secretly wanted the attacks to happen so that they could blow some Palestinians up, that's the sort of thing they like to do" then I'd suggest that the line between criticism of Israel and antisemitism is getting blurred a little.
Its a comedy skit. Its satirizing the media. Why does this fact fly over your head when, I presume, its your man getting mentioned?

And saying October 7th was a false flag is at best a crass and moronic false assertion. Otherwise explain how the comment is tied to anyone's ethnic religion.

It wasn't criticism of Israel. It was an unfounded claim that Israel wanted the attacks on Oct 7th to take place, just so they could attack Gaza,

@@emmabrooker166 considering that Starmer's Labour is looking at putting more money into war, while imposing austerity on the rest of us, with fiscal rules that got two thumbs up from the architect of austerity himself, George Osborne, I'd say there's not nearly enough difference between them. And that's also not saying about Starmer's Labour getting money from the same Tory donars as well, some of which being tied to private American health care companies.
I know the whole Giant Douche vs Turd Sandwich comparison to all political elections gets the eyes rolling, and perhaps rightly so, but Sunak and Starmer?

I don't believe he could have been considered to have "done well" by any metric.
The audience was set up/being paid to be there to give him the softest ball platform, it was a party-political broadcast without being labelled as such.
And yet he still managed to comes across as an out of touch gobshite who can't handle people, let alone the basic rules of engagement in politics.
The Tories need some serious thinking time in opposition considering their leaders since 2010 have been incompetent individuals who failed upwards to a position of power.
In a room with a bunch of old white tories who were paid to be at the event. Why doesn't he come to Scotland and stand in front of voters who have been rejecting his party since 1955.
