Thanks for the video Dave, I am going to install a reversing camera I was wondering how to connect the power and ground wires, your video has helped me I will do the same into the 12v aux socket in the boot, just need to figure out how to mount it, I dont really want to drill a hole in my car, I am thinking to attach it to the boot handle maybe, also for cable routing I will run the wire down the drivers side just under the fuse box, and then thread the wire through the dash, that is how I did it with the microphone behind the glove box for the gps antenna. I forgot to mention I have a Skoda Yeti.
Have got slightly different stereo with the 7in screen and knobs. Hasn’t thought of the parking sensors and reversing wiring, just hoping it does both like yours! Very useful video, thanks. Subbed

Hi Ihave ploo 2016 and i have two wires from the cam black and red. Can you help me how to connect it .i have 5 cabels with the reverse ( brown , white , black & blue

Would this camera double up as a dash cam? I’ve got a front cam that will plug into my android head unit and the reverse cam, wondering if I have to get additional rear dash cam or if I can use the reverse cam for both jobs.
So I cut the wires to the 12v power supply, and soldered the camera wires directly into them because I have no use for the 12v power supply. I gave it a shot before I buttoned everything back together, camera worked. I put all trim and everything back together and now it’s just a black screen… any ideas on where I went wrong?
Providing you have a oem unit that has reverse camera function then yes, you need an adapter like in this link and the headunit will need coding to accept reverse camera amzn.to/41Cn8J7

@@whatsdavedone104 That yes but I meant the red cable (+) of the camera, the one practically attached to the rca. if I take the positive from the cigarette lighter, can I ignore those red cables? Thanks in advance! 🙋🏻
It only shows on the screen when reverse is engaged. The camera does have constant power when ignition is on which is why I don't use cameras with leds light, I use IR cameras
@@whatsdavedone104 ok, it looked for me that you connected it to constant cigarette lighter power.. so i did it and camera works. But not a single adnroid app work which could recognise camera if i want to look behind me while driving ( since power is constant, it should do this ) And yes, I also disposed led camera, installed one without leds
I have a front camera installed also, this works with reverse camera, I come out of reverse and it shows front camera for a set amount of time. I can access the front camera as it is connected to the AVin app. I also haven't found an app to access review independently 🤷♂️
@Septyni Garsai if you are not running a front camera you could get an rca Y split, plug it into reverse in and AVin then you could run the reverse view through AVin independently but it will mute all sound while AVin app is open amzn.eu/d/anAp1py
Yes it's direct plug and play...I have one in my 1.6 tdi and this one in my 2.0 Mk6 cabriolet. I think I put a link in video description to the camera I use

It's easy to fit, but you need a constant 12v not a canbus 12v. Canbus 12v isn't a consistent 12v once the engine is running and the camera freezes. Constant 12v equal clear view 👍

If it comes with a canbus box it will work with multi function steering wheel, parking sensors and reverse

If you remove the plastic from boot, that runs across where the bumper is, you should see a few rubber grommets, you can feed the wires through them

Maybe the camera has come unplugged from RCA 🤷♂️

Yes the reverse camera rca is plugged into the back of the head unit.
