This is perfect for recording a podcast and such, you have the raw audio for every single person, still embedded in the video, and you can edit it as you need without having to sync separate raw audio, this is great!!!!!!

MY BIGGEST COMPLAINT WITH ANY MIXER IS WINDOWS TAKES THEM IN AS STEREO PAIRS. This video was a great help, I have come back here a few times and I wish I had bookmarked these ...all the tips you have given for combining external video making tools to use for streaming and more have been the most help of all the videos on youtube, I purchased the soundcraft mixer because of your review, recently upgraded to the RCF m20x ...and I have had great experiences so far with it.

Been using OBS w/ ASIO for a while, and recently also got Reaper. You can use Reaper as your audio gateway and all of its amazing effects and pass the audio out to OBS for live effects. I was using it for work the other day as a dynamic side chained noise gate (listening to music) so when I was on the phone with somebody if I spoke or the other persons poke the music would turn down and the music was going to my monitor mix only not to the VOIP audio.

This would be great with a digital mixer. You can get a fairly inexpensive behringer like the xr18. Having separate eq, effects, compressors, limiters on each channel is a big improvement over outboard gear. The amount of routing of the signal is insane also. We use an x32 and I could never go back to using an analog mixer.

I'm super curious about this. I too was really hoping that my Mackie fx12 would be able to separate out the channels in some audio software, but as has been said, it's stereo single channel only. Curious if it will improve with this plugin - cuz I don't really wanna spend the many hundreds of dollars to get a new mixer that has those.

ASIO & NDI plugins open the door to compositionally rich streams & video mixing which required devices like the BM decklink in the past. Sync & multiview of streams are likely to be the tech challenge.

    • @dangelforever690

So, I've been wondering this for a while and I'm not sure if you'd even consider this as a viable use case but... I was wondering if you had an ASIO mixer, could you run something like a concert or church service off of OBS with all of your instrument effects being VSTs loaded on OBS. That way, the audio mix you're sending to the room from the mixer and the one going out on your live stream are exactly the same level and eq and you can minimize the amount of hardware you would need to achieve a high quality sound. I don't know that this solution would be less expensive than a typical mixer setup for a venue, but it would make it far more Livestream friendly (assuming you have the cpu power to make it all work). I know some bands have been livestreaming concerts on Twitch and I wonder if this would be an alternative to micing instruments up if you simply ran your guitars through Helix Native and vocals through Reaper VSTs for reverb and delay. Potentially, you could even run midi controllers to allow your musicians to actively change their sound through the VSTs, perhaps by making the midi controllers que hotkeys or something. What do you think? Dumb idea or potentially genius?

That's obs's set of formats which it understands, since I didn't want to have the plugin do any additional resampling those're the options I provided. TLDR; unless you grab the edited version of obs which supports full 16 channel surround and are streaming to something (recording to a file would be fine) giving you the option to treat your device as an 8 channel surround sound was the best I could reasonably do without secretly having the plugin doing extra work to modify your audio. If you're "missing" channels, keep in mind the plugin only captures inputs, a lot of devices have "output" channels, those aren't reliably accessible.

Has anyone tried using a pioneer controller/mixer with this plugin? i'm using a pioneer xdj-xz with virtual DJ and i have no idea how to set it up. Either OBS or Virtual DJ crashes every time i accomplish a step. I can't find anything online regarding the setup either. any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks for the video! Please help me understand this (as I’m not very good with tech like this, I’m trying though 😅)
I’m a music producer using a UAD Apollo Twin audio interface with Ableton. Currently, I’m using Blackhole to with a multi output device (MacOS) to route audio from Ableton DAW to OBS. The only problem is that my interface only has 2 inputs. I want to utilize my H4n Pro as my microphone and save my UAD audio interface for recording sounds off of my outboard sound modules/keyboards while on livestream. Will this ASIO plug in solve my problem? 🙏🏼

Huh? You're using macOS. ASIO is Windows. It was created to overcome Windows limitations. You shouldn't need anything like that on Mac, look at "Audio MIDI Setup"

Chris Broadfoot ohhh I asked a question in a forum and someone pointed me to this video. You can’t connect the interface directly to OBS; you have to use a ‘multi output device’ in audio midi setup with something like Blackhole, soundflower, ishowU, etc.
But I want to connect 2 interfaces at the same time; so I’m a little confused on how to do it

Does this work with Mac OS?

How to capture an ASIO output audio to OBS? Not an ASIO input, but an ASIO output?
