What type of parenting and childhood and development do you think a 19 year old with three children who then spent 20 years with an abusive drunk had? What type of coping skills has she developed, what type of intellectual and emotional maturity has she developed? None of this should be shocking

Why do they think it is okay to laugh at this abusive behavior? Go back and look at her hands when he's going off like that. She didn't think it was funny and she feels it as if he was in the situation again. Maybe there is no excuse for not paying him back but come on THIS IS A SITCOM WHERE THESE STRANGERS GET TO Be entertained by being verbally abusive to this former girlfriend. He used her anyway. Common law marriages that all go to sh*t. After using her and beating her up for the duration of it. I'm just sorry she couldn't find a better man to partner up with. Imagine the psychological damage the children witnessed being in his presence on a daily basis. And then to lose a child too? SHEESH!!

I wonder how many bridges did the defendant burn with other people before she felt she had no other option but to slither back to a man she claims is so abusive when he’s drunk (which appears to be often) that she’s afraid of him? Apparently, she was not fearful enough to avoid seeking a loan from, according to her, a man she said is verbally and physically abusive when inebriated. It had been several years since they were in what she described was a volatile and violent relationship after their first year together. In fact, according to the defendant it’s possible that the plaintiff might have allegedly been involved in the fire that ended the life of one of her children. And yet this is the person that she chose to reach out to for financial help? That sounds crazy. Why risk the potential harm to yourself to borrow money just to get your car fixed? Why not ask someone else who isn’t an alleged “threat” to you? Thank goodness the plaintiff had the presence of mind to get a signed document stating that the defendant would pay him back the money that she borrowed. Good job on the decision Judge Mathis!
