If you imagine every Mic, Instrument, Midi controller in that studio being fed into multiple Apollo X8p interfaces, and then those interfaces are processing all of those signals and adding the extra effects, compression, reverbs, EQ etc, then out to the different speakers/ recording software. Thats a very simple overview of whats happening. Just some serious high end gear to what the average home studio user would have lol

Robert Payne i am a Metalhead and i don’t like pop and so on... but I have to admit the album Feature Love Sex Sound by Justin Timberlake is awesome (including this song) ....the cover is great but the original is awesome. I highly recommend you checking it out

tbh, the session sounds ridiciously good and the overall quality of the mix is more than stunnning. But I think this version completely misleads the energy and vibe from the original, which is not a thing of instrumentation, but of arrangement and feel. Listen to the rhythmic interplay between the vocals and meldoy section (f. ex. the line in the beginning) in the original. It's forcing a really specific pattern, creating consistent tension and release. Unfortunately this is a problem I have with 90% of these studio cover sessions. They often sound super sterile and the focus is more on a perfect clean production than getting the vibe of the music that is being played. It sounds like what it is, an advertisment for studio equipment. Although it's really well played it doesn't catch me at all.
