Thanks for checking the trip out, this was a very fun day for sure. Always a good idea to carry an empty trash bag out for just such an occasion. It bothers me for about 5 minutes then I see the results of the cleanup and instantly feel better.
Great video! It captures the feeling of being on the trail very well. FYI - I noticed that I made a cameo appearance in the parking lot at 13:26 😂. I was on my way up to the first primitive spot for a quick overnighter. I believe at this point in the parking lot I was doing my usual freaking out after taking stock of what I’d forgotten to bring. 😅 Happy trails!
Nice video, thanks for sharing! Really is a shame about the fire and garbage left on Cornell, the stupidity and carelessness that I've seen myself is overwhelming sometimes. Nice views when you weren't in the clouds, I had the same thing happen to me when I hiked slide mountain a couple of years ago.
Thank you for checking the video out! There were a lot of more "choice" words I had for them that I left off camera. Once I looked past it though I got to work cleaning up and then went and enjoyed my very cloudy views, LOL! I'm fortunate they broke just at the right time.
I always have an empty garbage bag with me...it's become a habit. Giving back is the least I can do considering all the benefits I get from being out there.
And a special thank you for stopping by and checking the video out. I've learned over the years to always carry an extra plastic bag with me for garbage I find. There are times I have to leave things behind but I do my best to get it all out.
Nice video! I did Wittenberg-Cornell-Slide as a loop, largely because I didn't want to have to figure out a way to get back down the 'Cornell' Crack'! Shame about the inconsiderate visitors that left trash all over Cornell. Thanks for sharing your hike (and cleaning up the mess).
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I bet that was a fun hike, one of these days I'd love to do all 3 in one shot. When I got back to the crack, I stood there for a few minutes contemplating my fate and then I found that cut-around. Lucky find no doubt, but very muddy and steep. I do what I can to leave the places I go better than I found them and I think I accomplished that on this hike.
Lovely area! Always wish that others would feel the same way and leave it just as lovely for the next person. The clouds blowing really give a mysterious feeling...but without surely is beautiful. Take good care and enjoy the week ahead. Bruce and Otis
It sure is Bruce! I have that same wish but I guess human nature will always win over common sense, that is where the true stewards of the land step in. the clouds were great, definitely kept the temperatures down and like you said, gave a mysterious feeling to the hike. 10/10 would recommend a cloud hike to anyone. Thank you, I hope you and Otis have a great week as well!
Thank you.
10:33 is gorgeous. The Catskills look very nice. Let's hope the Catskill economy comes back soon. And thanks for picking up the trash.

Excellent video. Thanks for picking up.

Special thanks for collecting the garbage!

My favorite spot in all the Catskills. Tough peaks to get to from this approach but worth it!
100% worth it! This was a very satisfying hike.
So beautiful Hiking Vlog!! Your footage is awesome nature 👏 👍10.

Would love to do Wittenberg and Cornell, but as a solo hiker at my age, I would be wary of doing the crack alone.
Thanks for taking us on your hike with us. This footage is beautiful and so peaceful. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you for stopping by to check it out, I really appreciate it! Very happy you enjoyed it!

I can hear Walter Sobchak yelling "Am I the only person who here who gives a shit about the rules!"
At the part of the trail at 3:20 do you have to scale this? Or is there another option around it, like a small path.
For that particular section, that was the only way I saw to get up there. The angle of the camera makes it look a lot worse than it really is.
