Thanks for the video much appreciated, I live in cold conditions but I never thought that the dakota dabbler would crack at the keel, I bought the flocked one and they have a different keel style. But awesome video it helped a lot! 👍
Did you guys test the decoys being hit with a 2x4 without being frozen? If not, you can’t truly conclude that the breaks were due to the freezing. The plastic in some of these brands may be more brittle to begin with (my inner scientist coming out but I think it would add lots of value to know this too). Really enjoy your videos, keep them coming!!
How many times do you hit decoys? Bevause I noticed when you did the avians that at one point you used 2 hands on the 2x4 and then the other slow motion part you used one hand.
They were all hit once except the DOA and Avian. Since nothing happened to them, they got a second hit to see if the first was a fluke and still even after a second hit they were both find.
Thought it might, but it didn't. The "after" picture in the blog post was taken this morning which is 5 days after this was filmed. fowledreality.com/floating-duck-decoy-test-part-2/
Hunter Kennow The paint is trash, comes off with almost no effort and they break easily. Save your money. Hands down the worst decoy on the market that is still made.
Colton Attrell the older ones must be different, because i have hunted over them, and started the season with 30, and ended with 26 because 4 broke. The paint on the rest was coming off by december, and the line ties kept breaking off. Its also a personal preference for me that they are all in the same position and are small. But if they work for you, go for it bud. Ill just never buy or reccomend flambeau again.

It's all about them Avian's baby. Lol.
Landon Rhine right
They've done well so far. We'll see how they fair next week.
Nice Video!
Thanks FDH!
I am curious to see how the G&H's hold up.
I've said it once and I'll say it again. The paint scheme or decoy realism isn't why you buy and Avian, its the durability.
pretty good tests from some city boys
Dakotas surprised me 😪
great idea and test it was a real eye opener.. Thx
Glad you enjoyed it!

We did not test regular temperature decoys. We wanted to simulate a cold weather hunt with ice forming on the decoys. Thanks for watching!
You Should do this with the Foam filled/battleship higdons.
We wanted to keep the decoys tested as comparable as we could. Being foam filled, I'm sure they'd hold up just fine!

Fowled Reality Duck and Goose Hunting good to know! Thanks
real helpful video
After the GHG deek warmed up did it pop back to form?

These weren't the same decoys used during the first experiment, where they? Have you had any feedback from the manufacturers?
Where these the same deeks used in test one?
Not the exact same decoy that was used in the pond test. These decoys were fresh out of the box and put into the freezer to get hit.
so do y'all still use hardcore? If not, what are you using?
We have some of their decoys still. Last season we used a mix of a bunch of different brands.
Do some tests on the storm fronts
Hunter Kennow they cheap

The Idaho Outdoorsman I disagree. My storm fronts have been by my side for 3 seasons with almost no wear and I'm not easy on em
