- This was filmed at L.S.A. Anaconda, a huge (pop. 28,000) U.S. military base near Balad, Iraq, in April 2008. I was there with Pratap Chatterjee, we were working for KPFA in Berkeley.

Anaconda 2006 was the best vacation of my life
I was there all of 2004. This video definitely brings back memories.

Two pools and outdoor olympic size one, complete with 10m platform, two PX's, one on each side, all kinds of fast food places, all kinds of places to exercise and lift weights, three great DFAC's on one side, and another great DFAC on the Catfish Air side. I was there from Dec 2007 until Jan 2009. I worked in CECOM FRA #1, I had aToyota Land Cruiser SUV and a Nissan King Cab pick-up, plus a Gator….it was a great place, for Iraq….

i miss working in military base ive been there in anaconda 2004 to 2006
When my company come anaconda there wasn't nothing there except for a mess trailer and a shower tent.. we stayed in an airplane hangar for a while , then stayed in the pool house and finally the tent city. That was 2003-2004.
We broke down tent city for y'all and put up hard shell. Me a Tony constantino the end of 04

Brings back memories, used to love that pool, was there 2005-2006 OIF IV.
Same here. 05-06 convoys 6 nights per week for 15 months attached to the red bulls. Went to the pool often. To my knowledge I was the first person to do a backflip on a bike in iraq. If you UA-cam search paducah skatepark local and scroll down a bit ..you will see the video...mike dozier. Cheers.

Hell yeah..Balad was cool cause of the pool and shit but I HATED the unit i ws with there. the dfac by the pool area was the best in my opinion other than the west side area. The USO when that opened that was cool but i hardly went because of my 13 hour grave yard shift at night. The pool had lots of hot army and AF chics with nice asses.
I was there in 6/2006 to 7/2007. I can barely remember, which side of the base was the pool and movie theater location on?

O man i remember again There's a lot of memories there in iraq I was there in 2004 until 2011 i know all area in JBB and that swimming pool indoor and outdoor cinema px and recreation dfac I know everything There's a lot of memories .my work as truck driver and bus driver. everyday I always there in mwr recreation..my company name PPI prime project International..
I was a fijian truck driver for PWC in 2005. Good memories.
