John Swinney gives 'excuses' for NHS waiting times as he is challenged by Douglas Ross

- Elderly Scots are “waiting far too long” for care in the NHS, Scottish Conservative leader Douglas Ross said as he claimed there have been more than 100 cases of centenarians spending 12 hours or more in A&E in just over a year.
He said figures obtained under freedom of information laws show “in over 100 cases, people aged over 100 waited over 12 hours for emergency treatments”.
He branded this “appalling and unacceptable” as he challenged John Swinney on NHS performance during First Minister’s Questions.
It came after an audience member in a General Election debate earlier this week pressed the First Minister on the care her 93-year-old mother had received.
Mr Swinney apologised to Anna McClintock during the TV leaders’ debate after hearing her mother had waited six hours for an ambulance, and then another two hours to be admitted to hospital.
In Holyrood on Thursday, Mr Ross challenged the First Minister on the care elderly Scots receive from the NHS.

Swinney's missing the point, the snp have had full control of the nhs for 17 years, so the failings in the organisation are theirs.
STSS is a rare and therefore very serious bacterial infection that can spread throughout the body by entering deep tissues and the bloodstream. According to experts, it usually enters the body through wounds on the legs.
Patients initially suffer from fever, muscle aches and vomiting. After that, it can quickly become life-threatening, with low blood pressure, organ failure, and coma.
STSS can be fatal even with treatment. Three out of ten infected people may die from the disease
- announced the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) regarding the epidemic.
Most cases of STSS are caused by group A streptococcal bacteria (GAS), which mainly cause fever and sore throat in children. In rare cases, this group A bacterium can cause necrotizing, i.e. flesh-eating, fasciitis.
ACCORDING TO THE CDC, MOST PEOPLE HAVE OTHER DISEASES, EITHER CANCER OR DIABETES, THAT CAN REDUCE THEIR BODY'S ABILITY TO DEFEND AGAINST INFECTIONS.

It’s disgraceful. I took my friend last Monday to Hospital in Larbert as she had called 111 and was told to bring her right away to emergency as her BP was through the roof at 220 /121 . We got there and it was packed with people and when she was triaged 45 mins later the nurse told us it would be 10 hours before she saw a doctor. I took her back home as she is 84 and put her to bed. This is absolutely deplorable what a mess our NHS is in .
Like him or loathe him… Douglas Ross exposes the snp failures.. and a blind man in a storm can see that… nhs esp dental treatment.. they have created private culture of dentists.. they can afford others not even those with jobs.. no quarter given by the private dentists… I am entitled for some nhs help..had to pay 58 ponds for a 5 min X-ray about a loose tooth.. got a nhs one now after 5yrs.. age 69 now..
Hopefully, the teachers will commence their strike in support of losing jobs with the snp always blame everyone else 😅😅

I hope Scotland gets independence one day, I suspect the SNP really don’t want independence because who can they blame for their incompetence? I suspect Westminster every time, they treat Scottish people as fools but hopefully the wake up call for the SNP is just around the corner, but I have a gut feeling the SNP will be the one party state most Scot’s want, like Labour in Wales, the Welsh will always keep Labour in power, and I think Scotland will always have the SNP, A North Korea in the making for both Scotland and Wales.
